How do you think the group would react at Ashlyn and Tyler getting together? Do you think any of them would've predicted it or knew it was going to happen or was it just out of the blue?

tay clocked it pretty early, the rest takes a bit longer but once they see the two work well together without even needing to tell the other what to do, they sort of get it.

i also think ashler has thing way of being able to tell what the other is saying just from a few looks, so yeah it comes as no surprise to anyone that they're dating. in fact, the rest of the group might have been taking bets behind their back lol

idk if you’ve already made a post about this but who do you think would confess their feelings first ash or tyler? and how would they do it/say it

hi anon! i've actually answered a pretty similar ask before which you can read over here!

honestly i can see both of them confessing first (depending on the situation and who's narrative i want to write in) the only thing that wouldn't change is that both confessions would be an accident.

it's never intentional, especially in tyler's case. i think out of the two, he would be the first one to develop feelings for ash but he'd never act on it under the assumption that ash wouldn't reciprocate his feelings/his fear of ruining whatever relationship they already had. so he'll learn to keep his feelings for her locked up and overtime he'll get used to it, that is until their relationship reaches a certain point of familiarity and comfort where ash wholeheartedly asks him if he thinks she's pretty or datable (maybe tay put the thought into her, or she just randomly got the idea from school) and tyler just tells her point-blank that he thinks she's beautiful and that any guy would be lucky to have her and ash (thinking ty was only teasing her) tells him he's lying, so tyler has no choice but to double down and confess bc there's no way in hell he was gonna make ash think she's unwanted.

ash on the other hand would stop dead in her tracks as soon as she realizes that what she feels for tyler isn't at all platonic, and while she too would try to hide or deny her feelings for him, i think at one point it would slip during convo and now that her feelings are out there, she has no way of taking it back, and tyler ofc wouldn't let her.

the confession, regardless of who says it, would always be unintentional bc i think these two would already be dating without them realizing, and it's only a matter of accidentally letting their feelings known that would get them to actually put a label in their relationship LMAO

What do you think tylers initial thoughts were about ash? Since they went to the same school since kids and obviously would know of each other.

it sounds mean, but ashlyn does a phenomenal job of blending in with the crowd and not putting any kind of attention on herself, and with tyler being so busy trying to keep him and taylor afloat, i doubt tyler ever paid any attention to her when he can't even be bothered to let anyone else in his life.

though i would think his first ever thought of her would be on her height (ash is tiny ok) and how long her hair is. maybe he'd even consider her quiet and loner personality a nice break from how loud his teammates are lmao

how do you think ashler show affection in general and/or show their support (for example, if they saw one of their friends crying) idk idk i just love your hcs man💖💖💖💖

i'm glad to know you love them anon! i take great pride at being able to yap about my favorite sbg ship nonstop.

when it comes to showing their affection or support towards family and friends, i think ashler share some similarities, namely: the quiet, almost seamless way they offer it. it's actually really cool imho how they would just be able to offer their help without making a big deal out of it, and they both have this deeply ingrained need to take care of others.

tyler specifically, would value and use food as a sign of his affection. cooking for his family and friends is something he would take great pride in, especially when he knows most of them can barely cook for themselves. and if he cooks for you, then you're definitely someone he cares about.

ashlyn shows affection through gentle affirmations and soft touches, knowing how touch averted she is, initiating any skin contact would mean she likes you enough to warrant her affection.

the two of them are also pretty good at reading people, so i can see them as the type who are thoughtful and understanding in nature, and their affection is present in the way they are able to remember the little things about their family and friends.

romantically speaking, their ways of showing affection is all these things combined, with the added bonus of seeking and providing comfort and solace in one another. to ashler, being able to give each other a chance to rest is a confession in and of itself!

i’ve got an ask, i saw a post where you said that you think taylor would try to befriend ashlyn eventually even if it weren’t for the phantom dimension (something along these lines) and i was wondering if you had any hcs of how she would approach her? and how ashlyn would give in and befriend her and the rest of the group

i think taylor would jump at the opportunity to befriend her whenever they have a chance to talk. taylor is a sociable character who enjoys building connections, and she's probably the biggest reason why she and tyler actually are the only ones with a group of friends prior to the gang.

and it's already been hinted in canon that tay has noticed ashlyn's loner disposition for a while and i think her initial hesitance to approach ashlyn would change once she's managed to find a way to talk to her.

and i think tay's friendly nature and emotional maturity would draw ashlyn in, and while i still think she and tyler wouldn't have a great first meeting (ashlyn finding ty too loud vs. ty not really caring about anyone but his family) i think their mutual affection for taylor is what gets the two of them to actually bond and get along well, especially when they realize that they have a lot of things in common (their dry sense of humor and similar ways of showing support and affection)

don't you just love the fact that out of everyone in the group, it's tyler who ends up giving ashlyn her nickname; and that out of every nickname he could think of, he decides on carrot-top? like. it's honestly so perfect, and it's so fitting that the nickname is such an impactful moment in their relationship given that he literally give it to her to take away the guilt she felt for leaving him behind.

and all of this to say that carrot-top is ashler's thing. it's an endearment that is solely theirs bc the meaning behind its creation is deeply intertwined to ashler's growing friendship/relationship (depending on how you wanna view it)

so any attempt to take this away from them in order to give it to your own ship is kind of losing the plot imho

would ashlyn mind having taylor around all the time while she’s dating tyler?? maybe that’s not the case but for the most part she’d probably hang out with them since the twins are always together plus, and that alone is a reach, if ashlyn and tyler were to buy a house together wouldn’t taylor mind? i don’t have siblings so it’s hard for me to imagine how that would work (i’m making all these assumptions based on the fact that tay and ty have separation anxiety)

i think your assumption is a bit off if you don't account for their ability to not only grow as a person, but to also overcome their separation anxiety over time via building relationships outside of their own family and exposure to a much more stable environment (having community, friends, responsible adult figures, etc)

though depending on the situation and how you want to write them (cause i'm a firm believer that a character can't be ooc so long as you're able to put them in the right situations for the outcome you want) i can sort of see why you'd think it would be difficult for the twins to be apart.

but personally, i like to picture the banners as the stabling and grounding factor to the twins' improved psyche. ashlyn's parents would be a great improvement to the lack of responsible adult figures in their lives, and with ashlyn and the rest of the sbg gang offering a long lasting friendship (romantic as well on account of ashler) i think the twins would definitely be able to grow out of their previously unhealthy codependency.

though i doubt taylor would ever get in the way of ashler dating in the first place, especially when she's the most emotionally intelligent out of the group. she'd know when to give them space, support her brother's love life, and live with the fact that tyler is expanding his relationship.

and even if she does end up hanging out with them, it's not like she'd purposely get in the way or stick herself to their business. like. as someone with siblings and friend groups who are in relationships, i can assure you third wheeling isn't a crime nor a bother.

Do Ashlyn's parents love Taylor and Tyler?

They treat them like their own children, and that affects them? What if Tyler's dating Ashlyn? Do they still treat him like another son?

Will Ashlyn ever learn that the twins' father is dead and Marianna is mentally absent but physically present?

i hc that the mike and emma LOVE the twins. i mean what's not to love about them? they're well mannered, kind, helpful, and so responsible for their age, and the best part is that they actually love and care about their daughter.

their treatment of the twins isn't necessarily the same as how they would treat their own daughter (especially when the twins already have their own parents) but that doesn't stop mike and emma from caring about them.

i think once tyler and ashlyn start dating, they would dote and welcome them to the house even more (though there would definitely be a few serious convos regarding their relationship) i doubt it would be a weird transition since the twins were never theirs to begin with (though i'm sure the banner household are quite fond of them regardless if their blood or not)

i would definitely want ashlyn to know about the twins' circumstances, but it would probably come up either on accident (think a heated argument) or at a later time when both tyler and taylor are comfortable enough to share the information.

when mike held tyler and carried him in his arms to take him to the hospital, when do you think was the last time tyler ever felt that weak and helpless? how long do you think it had been since he had felt anyone immediately rush up to help him (other than taylor) when he was in immediate distress? 

being in so much pain and trauma hardens a child, no matter how much he was raised with love. and losing his dad was what got him to step up and take the burden of raising himself and taylor alone. but being held by mike, regardless if he was his father or not? with the longing of being held and taken cared of and having all of his burden and responsibility removed from him? i’d think that if he was a bit more conscious, being regarded as a child (which is exactly what he is in that moment, a scared and injured child) would have cracked a part of tyler's built up walls on impact.

What are Ashlyn and Tyler’s favorite things to do during the summer?

individually, ash likes to keep cool and stay indoors. tyler on the other hand likes to swim (going to the lake or a public pool at night so that it's less crowded and ash is easier to convince that way)

as a couple they'll probably like a long road trip where the destination isn't necessary, what's important is the music blasting and the snacks they buy.

assuming your fav sbg character is tyler who’s your second fav? my guess is either ashlyn or taylor

funny enough, ash was my first fav (with tyler being my second) but after my second reread of sbg, their roles became reversed!

so yeah, ash is my second fav now (the rest of the banner and hernandez family also hold a special place in my heart tbh so i guess they're like my third favs lol)

i wish y'all could read the fic i'm thinking of writing right now. like. it's so good. so good. it's niche. it's authentic. it's completely catered to me. and it's jam-packed with intricate relationships and introspection. but most importantly, this fic is a character study poorly disguised as a coming of age.

What do you think Ashler’s first date would be like?

the real answer would be staying at home and making dinner together, but if we're talking about like a date outside the comforts of their home, then it would be going somewhere familiar and not at all crowded, like a hike or a picnic by the lake, or maybe even both (in order to get to the perfect spot to see the lake, they need to trek for a bit)

i can imagine ash stressing a bit over the trip the night prior and ty's like chill out, and then he proceeds to calm her down by going over their plans together: they'll wake up early to prep their meal and pack their stuff, ty will stop by the gas station and pick up some snacks and maybe coffee as well while ash waits for the gas, they'll reach the lake before noon, take a short hike and set up a picnic.

the date goes according to plan for once and they have an amazing time together, taking pictures of each other, reading books, talking about things, basking in each other's presence. it's an amazing date overall.
