Avis (my oc) with the captain

My Ghosts OC! (Are people still doing this or just me?)

Name: Avis

Gender: male (trans)

Sexuality: bi

Age: 19

Cause of death: killed, after refusing to fight back against the other gladiator as the fight began (it was an old friend).

(there were gladiators in england, or at least we’ve found evidence for it. It wouldn’t be surprising since Romans’ did love their fights)

What he’s like with the other ghosts-

Pat: he gets on surprisingly well with Pat, because Pat wasnt put off too much by his short temper

Julian: he doesn’t talk much to him, mainly because he doesn’t understand what he means half the time.

Mary: he finds her annoying at times. She believes in god and the devil, whilst he believe in the Celtic gods.

Kitty: he likes her. She’s bubbly and friendly, and very unlike most ladies he’s met before. He used to have a crush on her, and tried (but failed) to flirt with her, but became just friends.

Fanny: he doesn’t mind her. He understands her bitterness, and they usually complain together. He does find her tiresome sometimes, when she’s complaining about manners

Thomas: he doesn’t know if he loves him or hates him. On one hands, he can be really good with words and is handsome, on the other hand, he obsesses over every women ever and is very over dramatic.

The captain: he has a sort of father/son relationship with him. They both have fought and seen death, and the captain feels bad that someone young died in a violent manner (just like many soldiers in ww1 and 2)

The plague ghosts: he doesn’t hang out with them much. He won’t admit it, but he’s kinda scared by their appearance

Random facts:

-hes ambidextrous

-others used to make fun of him for never taking of his tunic in public

-he’s a really good fighter

-spoke Latin, Gaelic and basic Ancient Greek when he was alive

-learnt English as the other ghosts (Robin was already dead) arrived (though it was hard as the language changed a lot over the years)

-he has a short temper and irritable

-but he’s really sweet when (if) you get to know him

-the captain has to hold him back from fighting others at times

-he can be found sitting by the pond a lot of the time

-secretly is a massive fan of Vera Lynn

(Just a rant)

As much as I love my friends and my family, I feel like I can’t talk to them about certain topics that bug me, such as my dysphoria or my mental health. It fucking sucks.

My friends all accept me as a man (trans ftm) which is great, but on some days I just hate so many things about myself, like my voice is highpitched and when I laugh it’s so feminine and I fucking hate it. It’s not low and a bit rough like most guys, it’s the opposite. I can’t stand it. And my height! God I come from a family for tall people yet I’m the only small one! Most guys are tall, how will anyone believe that I’m a guy if I’m 5ft 4? And so on.

But I can’t talk to them about it! I’ve tried to once, but they laughed and said ‘wow, you really brought the mood down, huh’ I know they meant no harm by it but it still hurts, and I have to keep it to myself, and put on a smile for school or say ‘oh, I look sad? I’m just tired, don’t worry’ or on the days when I really can’t handle my voice, I just go quiet all day and pretend I’ve lost my voice because no way am I speaking.

And my friends, who I text, I can’t tell them because they’ve had busy days or are dealing with their own drama. I can’t bother them with my problems.

Then there’s my parents.

They’re lovely, I love them dearly but 1: they’re transphobic, and 2: they think that I’m mentally ok just because I’ve moved schools.

I clearly can’t talk to them about my dysphoria when my dad thinks people like me are mentally insane and need help, and my mum is casually transphobic but pretends she’s an ally. And I can’t tell them about any mental health issues, since they think ‘oh, they used to suffer from extreme anxiety caused by years of bully and ridicule but now they’re in a new school so they should be sunshine and rainbows now!’ Yes, moving schools has helped with my anxiety, but I still can’t say something in class in fear that people will laugh at me, and make fun of me. Loud noises still frighten me. Performing, especially music, makes me freeze up and unable to breathe, heart pounding against my chest as all I can think about is how people will call me names, they’ll point and say snide comments.

Not to mention my self doubt and self hate that’s been building up this year, as I slowly get more shit in school even though I’m trying really hard and I feel so much pressure when I have a test for a subject I love, because I have to get the top marks. I have to get above 80% because otherwise I’m a failure, a mess.

I feel like I have nobody to talk to and nowhere to go. I’ve only got, drawing and writing to ease my pain.

happy pride month, everyone in yonderland is gay

Drew these today when I was suppose to be revising for exams.

It started off with a thought of captain waving the pride flag but soon went out of control and because, well, all the guys with different pride colours.

I’m going to do the girls later (though I’ve only got one pink pen and the lesbian flag requires different shades of pink)

He would totally love their love songs. Then get stroppy because ‘they’re words are so beautiful. How could I compare to that?’

Pat’s favourite song, I think, would be It’s A Beautiful Day, though he loves all Queen songs.

(Julian’s is fat bottomed girls-)

So

We can all agree that Pat was 100% listen to Queen right? He’d totally be a massive fan of them, and listen to their music quite a lot (among other bands and songs)

Imagine whilst he was alive, sometimes he’d play music at Button house.

So, naturally, The Captain would be irritated because of the racket, and storm over to Pat to snap at him about the music. (I mean, Fanny is more likely to do it, but for this, it needs to be the cap so)

But ‘Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy’ starts playing. He paused when it started to play, curious because huh that style of music is kinda familiar (it’s based on ragtime music (most popular between 1895-1919))

And he actually loves the song, a lot. It reminds him of some songs from back in his day, the singing is amazing in it (and its a man singing a romance with another man, which surprises him)

So when Pat plays music out loud, he stays for a bit, in the hopes that the song plays again, so he can listen to it.
