I've come back from the abyss to tackle one of the biggest drawings from the start of my drawing journey, (being the first thing I ever posted to get over 100 likes), Moon, (Jeremy), from @askthecelestialkings! The blog is owned by @orphetoon.

I've definitely improved, but damn, I still can't draw front viewing anything XD

Time for me to came out of the abyss and make a Tumblr post. I got some additions of my own. Get ready for a long paragraph:

I agree with @pontsalin! You don't need to get rid of the original parts of a character to make a cute genderbend of them. The Fem! Virgil I drew still looks like how you would expect Virgil to look in a normal Sanders Sides episode. She has Virgil's emo aesthetic, and even has added stuff like piercings and some winged eyeliner. Just like how you wouldn't see Virgil in a neon green shirt and bright pink pants, you're not going to see Fem! Virgil in certain things and have her still feel like the same character. Could you put her in a dress? Absolutely! Would you put her in a bright pink dress? Probably not. What about a dress that looks similar to the pink dress, but it's in a more gothic style with darker colors? That's a better idea for what a Fem! Virgil could wear without disregarding Virgil's original style. Could you give Fem! Patton, or even normal Patton, blonde hair and blue eyes? Yes, but dark eyes and hair should also be an option! I'll admit, I do like a blue eyed Pat, since light blue is his color, but I prefer a light to medium brown hair for him. And if you like the blonde hair, then try giving Pat chocolate brown eyes! Don't be afraid to mix and match these character designs like a Potato Head toy! Although, please be respectful while doing that. On to Roman: I know lots of people like to draw Roman as a muscular, sporty fellow. I know I do! And although he may not be the smartest in the bunch, he's still intelligent and respectable. Fem! Roman should not be stripped from that same treatment! You can have a muscular, sporty female who is intelligent and respectable! I may not be the best at drawing muscles, but I still tried, and that brings on the next point. I don't know if anyone tried to say that they can't do a certain thing because of their art style, but I do know that is a problem. Your art style should not be an excuse to erase diversity from character designs. Any art style can adapt, just like any artist can take the time to learn how to draw different body types. Will it look good right away? Nope, but that shouldn't stop you from trying all together! I know I used to think that way when drawing chubby characters, but I eventually learned how to adapt my style, and I'm still trying to learn! Now, no one is saying that you can't give the Fem! Sides makeup, dresses, big chests, or any other feminine things. The Fem! Roman I drew has both makeup and a decently sized chest. What is being said is that the Fem! Sides should have the same amount of diversity as the drawings and au's of the male sides. Let Fem! Patton be chubby! Let Fem! Roman be muscular! Let Fem! Remus be hairy! They can conform in some ways, just like the male sides conform in some ways, but let them still keep the personality and styles that the male sides have! Don't make them cookie cutter images of a conventionally beautiful female! The fun and different styles are what made us fall in love with all the sides after all.

The problem isn’t a character looking like this, but the sides looking like this, because if oten doesn’t fit them at all. 

Genderbends shouldn’t be about changing the fundamental things about the character (Virgil fitting into norms, even though emo culture is about not fitting in, Deceit wearing revealing clothes etc.)

Your genderbends don’t have to be sexist and transphobic.

Also y'all sure love to make them super thin, with big boobs and big hips, and conventionally beautiful uh
