The more I look at it, that scene as Benji and Ethan say goodbye to each other

The more I can see that Benji holds onto to Ethan’s arm as it slips through so it looks like for a moment, they are clasping hands

And if I choose to believe for a moment that Ethan’s hand tightened on Benji’s right then, that he clasped hold of him, this time, what be the last time for both of them, what then?

Especially as even if Ethan, eternally hopeful, believes he might come back to Benji, Benji is almost certain he will die and this is the last time he’ll see Ethan

And Benji could have him stay. If Benji had told Ethan he was hurt, Ethan would have stayed. But benji chose to die himself, without Ethan, then risk the mission and his friends
