“So mote it be” and “my will be done” and the like always seems a little high brow and more ceremonial than what I’m much into. So I was thinking this morning about just channeling one’s inner Picard and using “make it so”.
I think it could be a cute little way to infuse some spells with some pop culture oomph.

Star Trek Soul/Mind/Heart Spread
filed under do you have any idea how annoying it is to make a spread in paint?
Wrath mentioned the connect between these three guys and the Soul/Mind/Heart dynamic for a spell and all I could think about was a tarot spread. My first spread ever, can you tell? Anyway, ever have those moments where you feel like you want/need several different, sometimes contradicting things all at once? It helps to sit down, think about which side of yourself wants what, and map it out. This spread is designed to do just that:
1. Kirk (Soul): This card will show you what your soul craves. For this particular spread, the Soul will represent spirituality, dramatic changes, anything “bigger picture”.
2. Spock (Mind): This card will show you want your mind craves. This could relate to anything along the lines of school/study, career decisions, intellectual expression (anything from mathematics to writing), etc.
3. Bones (Heart): This card will you show what what your heart craves. This could relate to (but is not limited to): relationships, love, affection, dreams, aspirations, personal expression, etc.
Neither card is more important than the other, but I felt the need to put Kirk above the others for obvious reasons *salutes Captain*
Welp, three cheers for crappy, first time spreads! :D

Deep Space Nine is really my favorite show ever. It has so much that I love and that I’d longed to see. One thing I like is that it shows that sometimes, science and religion are the same fucking thing. There’s the episode where Vedek Winn tries to blow up the school because she thinks their teaching are not in line with Bajoran religion. There’s a scene in the episode where Jake and Ben are talking and Jake, being a child, basically says that Bajoran religion is dumb and that the wormhole aliens aren’t really prophets. And Ben, being the best, says “To those aliens, the future is no more difficult to see than the past. Why shouldn’t they be considered Prophets?" And he’s exactly right. The wormhole aliens are prophets because they see the future. And they are the prophets of the Bajoran religion because they do so much for Bajor. They gave them the orbs. They created the wormhole. They are particularly concerned with Bajor. Just because one can think of scientific ways explain them doesn’t actually take away any of their religious significance. In fact it only means that the Bajorans’ religion is true. And that Bajorans probably understood the way the universe works way better than humans because there was no conflict of faith.

Quote
Cast out fear. Cast out hate and rage. Cast out greed and envy. Cast out all emotion that speeds entropy, whether it be love or hate. Cast out these emotions by using reason to accept them, and then move past them. Use in moderation emotions that do not speed entropy, taking all care that they do not cause others pain, for that speeds entropy as well. Master your passions, so that they become a power for the slowing of the heat-death.
Surak’s Analects, quoted in Star Trek — Ex Machina by Christopher L. Bennett

Bajoran
There are two Bajoran fonts:
Bajoran ancient and modern.
Bajoran modern has only 12 regular and 1 uncommon characters, and the characters are used in any of 4 rotations. [only 2 included.] Since Bajoran modern was so skimpy, an Ancient Bajoran font is also included. It is based only on one sketch of one monument used in one episode that I happened to find in the book The Making of Deep Space Nine. Bajoran is often written up and down like Chinese.

Some Star Trek sigils! I am a Star Trek freak (total Trekkie) and I love mixing a little sci-fi in with my astrocraft. Made these sigils as a blessing for my godsons. They’re twins so I wanted their protection sigils to go together.
You can use these but please credit me if you re-post. They were a lot of work and I’m very proud of them!
