I have a problem. I want advice on how to make comics and written short stories. I want to write more, and let loose and have fun, but how can I do that if I’m a perfectionist and want other people’s advice, when my mom said that if I do I’ll reveal (and ruin/spoil) their secrets and it wouldn’t be my best advice all along? I also have story ideas but I don’t know how to finish those ideas, and complete my stories. It takes forever to complete a story. And when I try to complete a story, I get no ideas on how to finish a story and when I see someone online that has a better story with viewership because they got the story idea first before I did, I cancel my story and never share it to others, it never goes online. And I’m supposed better than them, not the other way around. I want my story to be original and not a ripoff.
I like reading comics and graphic novels. But when I get ideas, I mostly let them dry up and I don’t know how to not wait for inspiration and let my ideas dry up. How can I not do that?
I want to be imperfect. I really do. But it’s so hard to make mistakes when it’s just my pencil and notebook. I want to be a good writer and accept criticism and feedback and I know it’s scary but I don’t know how to take those risks when I don’t have anyone to talk in real life and share it to. How can I write a good story (basic plot structure) and make the characters and character development and personality good? And how can I make my own creative/storytelling/story writing advice and not share it with anyone (I don’t want the first time I write the advice to be permanent because I know I can edit it and there will often be more to add upon). I want to write in my messier side in my notebooks. I just don’t know how yet. Any opinions and thoughts? and answering the questions?
And how can I make comic making and comic writing fun?

Almost at my 20s; am I too old to make manga digitally?
I’m almost at my 20s and I’m bad at completing comics stories to take action writing and making manga/webcomics. I just want to complete my own manga before age 20. But I’m bad at starting and figuring out how to translate what I thought about and put it down in words and on paper. Even though I didn’t know the words “manga” and “anime” as a kid, and only found it based on games and stuff (online and in some ticket redemption arcades), I loved comics and graphic novels and tv shows as a kid. But I also liked manga, and the art styles of shounen, shoujo, and kodomomuke manga and anime, as I grew older and found ways to watch it or read it online for free. So basically my goal is still sort of intangible to grab, but I love to draw and write stories and even wanted to complete my stories and share them with others. And I want to find a way to pursue these dreams, especially through making my own all-ages manga/comic. But I don’t know how to complete writing my own comic stories (and yes I know the 5 part plot structure) but how do I apply what I learned and made for my story and then write it down? And how do you write manga stories for “kodomomuke” and “all ages” (like similar to “Moomin”, or “Peanuts”)?
Has anyone started a manga/comic career when they were close to age 20? or even around their 20s? And have you used digital media for their manuscript“name” process for their manga, once they finished planning on paper and pencil? And has anyone started a career to make manga/webcomics in their 20s and can still maintain family life and bonds? I have some doubts that I can pursue my dream of writing and making all ages manga before I become 20 years old, because there was a Japanese mangaka Ran Tokiwa (ときわ藍 ) who won a grand prize at the 2015 77th Shogakukan Newcomer Comic Award Grand Prize…at age 14 (at the time of the contest)! Which is really good for her (and her art is really cute), but got me worried and nervous because I didn’t start immediately to get my work published as a middle school person. Also I do have a lot of manga stories, but I don’t know how to place my roleplaying story from thoughts, to notebook; Has any person around their 20s had this problem, and how did you solve it?

Artists support time!
Trivyade here. Let’s do our first artists supporting artist chat! Note that I won’t be available all the time, but feel free to check on me or someone’s art user to me or in this post! You can even dm me by going to messages, or ask me anything, and I will do your best to get to you. I will ask some art and drawings advice questions while making a conversation, but I’m doing to this because I want to make good relationships to the art community in tumblr and in other communities outside of tumblr.
Who is this for? specifically for anime style artists and writers, and webcomic artists such as from tapas, dillyhub, and other webcomics sites and platforms relating to artist, writer, and comic communities.
Why did I start making this? Because I saw very few to no “artist supporting artists” hashtags that were about communication with others in the art community, as a whole! And because I couldn’t find a helpful one where I could ask questions and because other people were venting or ranting about other art, ai art, or just showing their artwork out without giving them much thought about others or help. I felt like this is a problem that no one is noticing. Shoutout to @nartista for the idea, and the book “how to become a successful anime-style artist” by 3dtotal publishing! Thanks for the idea and the realization guys!
You can also share this post to other people, but avoid reusing my art for commercial or non-commercial purposes. Or at least any purpose in particular. It’s my own work, and I won’t let anyone take stuff that I worked hard on. I can also take off/ignore any person who might be rude, salty, negative, cause spam, or be mean to me while blocking or reporting since comments and messages, so please be nice everybody, and follow the rules:
Rules:
Be nice to everybody! 😊
Warning Note⚠️: You may not self advertise or self promote here!
However, what you can do is shoutout what webcomics you like, and shoutout the comics/art you have created as well.
Shoutout by writing the webcomics title and user who did the story and art, or comic writer and comic artist’s name. you may write a link by writing the name and creators of the comic/artwork then use the “blue box” to grab the desired text and add the link (icon with the double chain link) and the site where you have your artwork or comic online. Don’t use the “at” symbol unless you are asking about other users in the chat only. And use “artist support” and “artist support artists” in the necessary specified posting areas. AI art is also not allowed here.
Introduce yourself, your age (or age range), and reach out how you were doing today. You should also add what art works and comics you did in the past and present, and want you wish to improve and work on more often in the future. Be appropriate and nice to others and remember I might chat to you, but it will take to read some of your comments or reposts.
You may also ask questions after you introduce yourself, add the age, and add a shoutout. You are allowed to ask art questions to other user and myself, like general questions how to shade or light you artwork, or how to draw anime proportionally, work for an comic art design/comic story longline or plot whether it’s on posting your art or on posting your webcomic. You can also ask general questions (examples: favorite color?, favorite food?, favorite characters? (whether it’s in your comic, or if it’s fictional characters from a movie or series), which art is [insert aesthetic or genre here] enough?, should I draw a character with [color 1] hair, or [color 2] hair?). You can also ask and answer about advice or your worries about your weaknesses in art in particular, and how you can improve, or how someone else did improve.
Feel free to check out any, or your, user’s artwork and comics, and chat with them through the other person’s username and via Tumblr dm chat, repost, or this post’s chat via the tumblr’s Notes button. If you want to ask me a question, tag my username with the at symbol and send me that message, or go my Ask me Anything button, if you want to respond on the other route.
I hope this helps with other’s communication, and works on their art support and time to committing to art better, in the future!
What are you waiting for?
….It’s time we collaborate together on our next comic and art adventures and chats!

Artist introduction and notes:
Meet the Artist:
Hi there, I’m Ivy, but I’m also known in other platforms as, “trivya” or “TrivyADE”! Nice to meet you. I’m a female with she/her pronouns, and around the legal adult age of +18 and over (as of May 18, 2024).
My Tumblr blog’s Purpose:
My blog here in Tumblr will be about updates on certain stuff in art. I will also post some digital art in my blog, make “artists support artists” chat blog posts (because I didn’t see many that introduce the user who is a comic artists in Tumblr or digital artists in Tumblr), and asks questions to my blog post and other tumblr artists blogs and AMAs whenever I can. And I would definitely like to meet other tumblr artists, as long as if it’s okay with you reading this posting and posting introduction and info about what you are doing so far lately as the tumblr user, who is an artist.
But it takes time to show what I can really do, because as of now, I have accounts and profiles, with no artwork posting yet. I have a problem with that, because I don’t know what to draw on those art profiles from there, and keep it as a gallery of artworks. And I’m nervous on how to maintain a good but healthy status on my artworks.
Notable stuff about me:
I have autism, adhd and depression. But I try my best to ignore the “diss” or “negative” in disability, and do more positive and more cozy things. It can be crazy and hectic to find time for checking on tumblr, because the time I use the tablet varies, but I mainly and usually use it every Fridays (4:30pm -8:30 pm), Saturdays (11:30am or 12:00 pm- 8:30pm) , Sundays (11:30am or 12:00pm - 8:30pm), and some occasional days I’m out or have a no school day. Other days I don’t have time to go to other art sites, because my school won’t let me, and/or usually because I’m not allowed to post other stuff online during school.
I like comics and books for kids and for young adults, and also some over 18 and for more mature audiences too. but I basically prefer stuff that’s for young adults and for regular kid audiences. Because I tend to look over the young adult and kid comics these more to hone my writing and comic drawing craft. I enjoy anime, manga, webtoons and webcomics from different webcomic sites. (Tapas, WebComics, Dillyhub, GlobalComix, etc.) I also like certain themes in my life, like important themes and lessons in real life. But it’s not easy to find but when I do find it, I try to keep it in my brain or write it down somewhere. And because my tastes have changed and evolved overtime, some ideas from the original versions feel more different than other versions I made.
Likes:
My Etch-a-Sketch Magic Screen
My plush toys (Duffy The Disney Bear, Large sized Rilakkuma, Raggedy Anne, Snoopy, and a Kaomoji Plushies).
Drawing and sketching on paper traditionally, before doing it digitally.
Favorite books: “The Mrs. Piggle Wiggle Treasury” by Betty MacDonald and Illustrated by Hilary Night, “Hotel Strange” by Katherine Ferrier and Florian Ferrier, almost any Roald Dahl book for kids, “Maniac Magee” by Jerry Spinelli, “Dog Man” and “Cat Kid Comic Club” (book 1) by Dav Pilkey, “Cucumber Quest” by Gigi D.G, etc.
Favorite Webcomics so far: “Unfamiliar” by Lavendertowne, “Bugcat Capoo”, “Tata the Cat”, “Lucid Memories”, “The Little Trashmaid”, “The Fork with Spiky Hands”, etc.
Favorite shows: Hazbin Hotel, BFDI, SpongeBob, Inanimate Insanity, Amphibia, Ojamajo Doremi, Saint Tail, We Bare Bears, etc.
Show and anime I should watch now: Spy x Family, Summer Camp Island, Adventure Time, Infinity Train, Doraemon (Spanish version), Karameru YouTuber (about the cat, axolotl, and/or penguin; short hilarious videos), The Owl House, Invader Zim, The Cuphead show, etc.
Some ASMR videos, of cuteness and supportiveness.
Cute things/kawaii things, and cute mixed with creepy, but not too much horror.
Flowers, trees, and nature. Except the plant species that are dangerous.
Dislikes:
TV shows I hate (and still hate!): Teen Titan Go!, The Loud House, The Day my butt went psycho!, Breadwinners, etc. (examples of shows I don’t even like)
The Spotted lanternflies (there are still probably gonna barge in this year as an invasive species).
Going outside In the streets on my own. I prefer an adult, because there are too many wrong things out in the streets, if you aren’t careful where to look.
Throw-up, puke, or heartburn.
People doing disturbing things in my dreams.
People talking to me all at once in real life.
Jump-scares and other horror genre based stuff. I do like creepy stuff with cute stuff, but not stuff that would lead to excessive gore.
Nudity.
AI artwork (which steal supporting styles artists usually use in the past or currently using now, for money! Not cool, and I do not accept those types of images in real life).
“Welcome Home” video game and “website ARG project”, (I like the design of the characters, but it’s also kinda… um disturbing?)
Important notes:
As of now, I am not doing art commissions, art trades, art requests, YCH commissions, and no art pieces, for money at this point. I will post art commissions if I am ready, but at this time I don’t have a bank account. I also do not have a debit card at this rate, because I don’t have a bank account!
You can message (or dm me) in tumblr for introducing yourself, and be friends with me through chat. I will do my best to be really nice and not do any favorites. This is about art and support. And because art is hard work, I will block or report people who are doing things that I hate or stuff that isn’t necessarily in blogs or posts, like spams, scams, sex, self promotion and self advertisement, and bribery.
In conclusion (TL;DR):
Apologies for the long post… but this sums up what I talked about in whole. This blog post is me introducing myself. This is a pinned post at this point, so feel free to message/dm/reach out to me whenever you can. And I will ask questions and make artist support messages. And I will make webcomic, digital comics, and traditional art (sketches and doodles), digital art (more polished artworks and webcomics), and mixed media art (pencil and pen on paper, before taken in digital photo to continue and create an artwork from there) that I will usually create, whether it’s online or in comic platforms. I will support artists whenever I can even if I cannot figure what to draw yet, you are allowed to give me general ideas and advice, and support whenever possible.
Also even though they are empty as of (may 18, 2024) I will do my best to update those accounts with artwork and webcomics. Without further ado here are my art links:
Artstreet (Medibang paint user site)
Tapas webcomic site
Japanese Mangameets (Shueisha) profile site
DeviantArt profile and site
So let’s make friends, and support each other’s users, including myself! Also nice to meet you.
-from, Trivyade.

Hi there, I’m TrivyADE, aka Trivya-Art and Isosceles Triangle. Close to my age of the twenty year olds. Nice to meet you. I am new here in tumblr so I don’t know what to draw yet. But I’m working hard on figuring out what I enjoy best at in real life. And I might take a step back from online sometimes and start practicing. I mainly join on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Sometimes when there’s a holiday or a day off I use the tablet sometimes on those days too. I want to show my appreciation for the following artists. I might not know them but I like: @lucuslovesyou @idrawstuffoo @churtei @not-the-culprit @izaacaitlin @sekaiichi-happy
Also if you want, let me know if you want to make friends with me, I would be happy to be friends and share advice or even tell me something in private chat and we could give each other comfort if something feels wrong. We all support and look out for each other.
