For the first time in a while I stood up to myself…kind of.

Story:

So today me and my family have to go to a wedding and lo and behold, parents who are very conservative want their “daughter” who they know that they don’t like dresses and any kind of really feminine stuff to fricking wear a dress. I finally told them last night that I’m wearing a suit/tuxedo. They were like “ok. Only if you wear high heels with them”…😶‍🌫️ of course the passive person that I am just stayed silent and didn’t agree nor disagree with it cuz I do get emotional the moment I want to complain smth about. Got my suit ready and everything and then comes Wedding day (of a relative btw). It’s like 1h before we leave for the church and then the venue.

Went to the living room to ask my mom where my shoes are (flat ones businesslike but looking damn good). She was like “why? You’re wearing the high heels”…which rendered me speechless and my rage was about to explode but again…just inside.

Went to my room to seethe in silence when I just took a deep breath, went out and asked my mom bluntly “where are my shoes. Where are they” she finally told me and I went and got them. Got a pair of socks and just started putting my clothes on. No argument whatsoever which shocked me. And y’all… my insides was melting with how proud I was of myself. Like holy shit you did it. Keep it up!!! (Probably won’t tho 😂😂)

So here I am currently in the venue and feel like this is the first time I can enjoy myself with being comfy (my clothes and shoes) and no pain (feet).
