sorry I didn't mean to upset you bringing up separatism again. I'd love the community (or what's left of it) to have an actual discussion about it, how it would work, how it helps women etc instead of everyone talking at and over each other, wilfully misunderstanding and harassing women who aren't ideologically pure enough. it's really disheartening

And yes, the problem with trying to discuss separatism on Tumblr is that the discussion is dominated by toxic, self-righteous extremists who genuinely believe that any woman who is not 100% with them is somehow persecuting both them and women in general. I had my share of fanatics when I was younger, got no tolerance left for them.

In answer to your poll: yeah! I grew up very disadvantaged so I try and help everyone. I donate to food banks, I've volunteered in soup kitchens, I made scarves for the homeless, in my old flat I had a spare bed for anyone who needed it, I've given money, i do regular litter picking in my village, I've taken in a few people fleeing abuse, I've taken part in protests, ive made informative leaflets on issues to name some! Wish I could do more tho

This makes me happy to hear. It’s really difficult to go out there and actually be active in the current political climate. On the one side, you have literally violent conservatives, and on the other you have divided progressives who won’t stop bickering long enough to support people trying to actually do things. part of why saying that “everyone is bisexual” or “there is no such thing as exclusive same-sex attraction” is so offensive to me is because I am an asylum seeker seeking amnesty for my sexual orientation, and I met so many other like me and heard their stories of horrendous abuse, sexual assault and torture.

if homosexuality wasn’t innate, if it was changeable do you think we wouldn’t have changed ourselves for our homophobic societies and be able to live normal lives instead of risking everything and going to another country never to speak to our families again? if lesbians could tolerate and enjoy male bodies (regardless of how they identify) and if gay men could enjoy and tolerate female bodies (again regardless of how they identify) don’t you think we we’ve already done so to avoid all of this suffering, misery and literal death sentences?
