This week’s episode

hello!

The events of the past few weeks, including George Floyd’s murder and the protests here in Minnesota have turned the world upside down. Hannah and I have spent this time trying to raise awareness on the internet, having necessary conversations with our families, educating ourselves, donating money, time and of course, protesting. I encourage everyone to do what you can to donate, speak up and learn. Things may seem like they’re dying down but we can’t let the fire of revolution go out. 

Due to all of this, we could not get an episode out this week. We tried multiple times to record or come up with ideas for the episode but it all felt very trivial so we decided to take the week off to concentrate on more important things. 

Black Lives Matter! Say it loud! Say it to your racist uncle. Say it often. Say it until you lose your voice. Black Lives Matter.

Regional at Best era fics have a special place in my heart. I understand why Tyler doesn't like when people romanticize the era when it was so difficult for them, but those trials and tribulations really make for good fic, especially when we already know the outcome - and add a little Joshler to it :) Dreamers at Best by flightlessnerds is a classic, In Clover by TheDyingSun is also really good.

Would love to have a great Dema verse fic but it feels weird to me to read or make up something that might clash with Tyler's actual Dema setting, especially since there is so much info out there to figure out and when we know there's an actual Trench bible. Tyler should write a book, a comic book or even produce a tv show - the Trench imagery would be all over it and it would be amazing!

The forest fic is overrated or perhaps too hyped up. The way it is written is cool with all the synesthesia thing but it could be a little more developed to have that final punch at the end. It would be hard to believe that Tyler did not have it in mind for the My Blood video, the fight scene is what inspired the song but I can totally see him trying to fuck with us by putting that at the end, like I know, you know, we all know but we'll never talk about it.

S2E3-Legend

Hi! Thanks for joining us for our third episode of season two!! We’re super sorry if the audio is a little wonky in this episode, or if there is a lot of background noise, there was stuff happening in our apartment while we recorded. After technical difficulties last week we return with discussions on the polls we posted on our twitter this week as well as a long conversation about the discord interview.

In this episode, Carlyn and Hannah discuss all the interviews the boys have done the last few weeks, including the q&a on discord that gave us a ton of info on Dema as well as some interesting things about past music videos, and Tyler and Josh in general. Their topic for the week is meeting celebrities and how to act and be polite. They get into a fight over Hannah’s poor googling skills and go back and forth on what is an appropriate time to ask for a hug from Tyler or Josh. They also talk briefly about their experience meeting them and the q&a that they got to participate in.
