D Street Longboards

We’re super excited to finally be able to release some images from a shoot we did back in June for D Street Longboards. Walking around the seaside town of Torquay on an awesome sunny day, shooting lifestyle images of skaters modelling awesome cruiser boards made this one of the most fun shoots we’ve done to date.

Leather dual camera strap project

We shoot quite a lot of weddings and one of the most useful bits of kit, apart from the cameras, is our dual camera strap... we picked up a super cheap one of Ebay a while ago and we’re loving using it when shooting weddings as it allows you to shoot on two cameras without a separate bag, it also spreads the weight of the cameras across the shoulders which makes it a lot easier when shooting all day.

As I said before this was a cheap strap that failed on me on a recent shoot, I looked for a better/leather one and was surprised by the price of them, after looking at the construction of them I figured I could probably make one myself.

I popped to Tesco and bought 2 black leather belts...

I then ordered two D rings that fitted the width of the belt but with enough room to slide up and down. Added onto the D rings are heavy duty quick release clips which are hooked onto the Camera screw adaptors...

The two cameras that we use with this strap comes to a weight of 6.5 kg which is why we needed to make a strap that was heavy duty and that could take the weight, the leather belts work perfectly...

We used thick linen thread to keep the two straps together as they cross each other at the back

The simple/smart design looks great on and spreads the weight of the cameras across your shoulders great which is ideal for those long days when shooting weddings...

FOH APPAREL

Here's a little preview of a photo shoot we did for FOH Apparel. It was different shooting clothing without models but was great fun working in the studio on this project.

We kept the look of the images clean & simple so you're not distracted from the clothing itself. We're happy with the final images which you can see more of on the site at www.twistyfocus.co.uk .

SKON ft INDIANA

We're super excited to release some images from the recent shoot we did with the Nottingham based Lifestyle/Fashion brand... SKON (Some Kind Of Nature).

We've been talking to the guys at SKON for a few months about working together on a shoot sometime and have only just managed to get a date we're all free to work together.

James (The owner of SKON) is also a co-owner of a super cool pizza bar in Nottingham called Suede Bar. With the bar being super stylish with reclaimed wood everywhere you look, used to clad the walls & make super cool furniture etc It was a fantastic place to shoot ( plus we got free pizza!).

James's partner is Lauren Henson aka Indiana, the super talented singer/songwriter who has been on Radio 1 along with her single 'Solo Dancing' reaching number 14 in the uk singles charts 2014. We got to work with Lauren on this shoot as she modelled the clothes along side James, 

James includes his love for design, bikes, the Suede bar and Indiana amongst other things in the SKON brand and it was awesome working with both him and Lauren on this shoot, we hope to work with them again in the future.

The Fallen State Shoot

In October we did a shoot with local rock band 'The Fallen State'. We produced one final group image for them to use on their brand new single that's just come out and to refresh their artwork on social media etc.

ERIC FASHION/LIFESTYLE COLAB SHOOT

Here's a sneaky peek of a recent collaboration shoot we did with the super stylish Eric. We roamed the streets of Exeter, finding cool locations to go with the 4 looks Eric put together.

This was a super fun shoot, we took 3 lenses and only used one ( Nikon 50mm f1.8) for the whole day...
