I was wondering that as God’s Disciples, the Noah’s opposites, what are Exorcist supposed to learn? This is my idea on this:

Allen is learning Humanity. He started out as a beat-up child who trusted no one and knew nothing of love until Mana. He sees both how kind and cruel people can be, just how tragic Akuma really are, and he decides to embrace them. Crowned Clown is born out of that want. The first part of his journey is done, now he must learn that he must be human to himself as well.

Kanda is learning Patience. He endured a lot of pain, both physical and emotional, injuries inflicted on him that are just unforgivenable. His rage is valid, but blinded by it, he ended up harming, nearly killing, and betraying the one person, the only person who wanted to save him from suffering. While his wrath is legit and understandable, he must learn to contain himself so that he won’t end up hurting someone he cares for again.

Lenalee is learning Resolve. She was kidnapped from her home, forced to fight in a war as a child. She is terrified  and insecure. Even getting her brother back and befriending everyone at the Order didn’t take the feeling away fully. She didn’t want to fight, she didn’t want to die, she just wanted to live happily. It is very painful to realise that no matter how much she curses her fate and God, it won’t change the fact that she cannot run. Even without the Innocence, there is a war that kills millions. That will kill everyone she loves if she doesn’t fight. As bitter as it is, she must resolve herself. Just like the others, she continues to struggle. She herself knows that when Allen needed help, her resolve was simply not strong enough. She is struggling, suffering and failing along with the others.

Miranda’s journey is Persistence. She lived in an environment where she was constantly put down and insulted, called worthless. It proves great inner strength that despite how these insults still stick to her, she never once did not try her best and do what she thought was the right thing. Every day she struggles the doubts others implanted in her and win, and fight for everyone she cares for.

Krory’s journey is about learning Assertiveness. He was locked away from the world by both his grandfather and then Eliade, surrounded by people who despised him out of fear. Krory had to overcome them, and then his own naivety and anxiousness. Because of his hard work, he could become family with a bunch of other people who accepted him for who he was, and he was ready to lay down his life for them. Even now that both of his best friends are gone, he still has faith in them and fights for them.

Timothy is learning Responsibility. He is soon faced with the fact that his actions have consequences, that in committing those crimes, he put other people in danger - those people he possessed, and then his family was targeted as well. His naivety, childlike selfishness and inexperience was turned against him. Controlling others, he must learn how to control his own actions and take responsibility for them.

Marie had to learn to Endure. Despite being robbed of his sight, he was still forced back to the battlefield, expected to just hold out. He knew he was going to die, he was ready for it, welcoming it even. If it meant that he was finally free, that he didn’t have to lose anyone anymore. It is by chance that he meets Kanda, who gives him a second chance at life. It is when he meets this boy, when he learns the tragedy that he was put through that giving up was the same as forgetting about the comrades who died. He learned that he had to live on, endure, and support the others, even when his heart was ripped to shreds as he lost Daisya and then Kanda too.

Tiedoll is about Hope. As he prays for his Innocence, he looks for the beauty in the world that’s plagued by this cursed Holy War. His comrades and pupils die and he still looks forward, he wants to save the world and the people in it because he knows that they are capable of wonderful things.

Alma was about Dignity. To cope with the terribly torture they went through, they stripped themselves of their personhood. They accepted that the reason they suffer is because they are an Accommodator, not a human who has rights. Reducing themselves to not-even-human was the only way to maintain their sanity. And when their only joy (Yuu) was taken from him, when they realised that they used to be human - that illusion shattered and boiling anger gave way to undignified hatred. Alma could only have some dignity back on death’s door.

I’m not entirely certain about Cross. While his Innocence is named Judgement, he comes off more as an observer/perceiver than a judger. He is not a particularly emotional man, but he is loyal. My greatest guess that he is Loyalty. He was committed to his profession as Exorcist and killed Akuma, as a General he trained Allen, as Neah’s ally he fulfilled his promise. He has warped morals, but he doesn’t go back on his own word or tells lies. Most likely this two colliding roles led to his desynchronisation. While he fulfilled his promise to take care of Neah’s vessel, he betrayed Allen’s trust. He didn’t fall, because he failed by following his duty, however, he was still stripped of his status. He was judged, and his punishment is to live on in the knowledge that he abandoned Allen for Neah, and he can no longer be aid to him.

Chaoji seems to be seeking Justice. He wants the Noah and Akuma to lose for ripping him of his family, first his biological mother and then Anita, Mahoja and co. He wants amend for losing nearly everyone he loved to such injustice. This desire however is overshadowed by his thirst of revenge. The polar opposite to Allen, who forgives everyone, Chaoji doesn’t search for answers when he is overcome with emotions. He doesn’t care why Allen doesn’t want to kill Noahs, he doesn’t care why did all this happen, he just wants to bury his grief in wrath, that is much easier to contain then despair.

Lavi’s journey (or a part of is, as his role is still up to question) is about learning Humility. Watching humans fight he reduced people to fools doing the same thing over and over again. He grew haughty and cold to other people’s suffering as a mean to protect himself, to cut off the empathy that made him hurt to see the humans who built up so much knowledge  cause so much tragedies. He realises his hypocrisy as well and Road forces him to confront this. In his self-defensive mechanism, Lavi ended up being just like the fools he looked down on. He must learn to discard that bias he didn’t realise he had and treat others and their problems humanely.

Okay, DGM fandom, we need to have a little chat.

I woke up this morning to a new mutual of mine asking me to delete some art of theirs that I had reblogged from them. This art had been inspired by something I had written. It was beautiful, tasteful, properly tagged, and the artist had so much fun drawing it. I had shared it with friends who also enjoyed it, and were also crazy excited about it! We don’t always get a lot of new art, and our fandom is small compared to most. But why, you might ask, did they ask me to delete it?

Because some self-righteous asshole thought it was inappropriate.

Why is it we have to get an influx of assholes lately? Is it other toxic fandoms (*cough* VLD, SU *cough*) influencing people into thinking that harassing content creators is okay?

Do you know what happens when you harass creators? They leave. They pack up shop and go somewhere else. They stop posting art and fic, even the kind you seem to think is “”appropriate”“. This is how we lose our fandom–by harassing other fans and creating a hostile environment. I’ve seen it happen in other fandoms, and I LOVE this fandom, okay? I’ve been with it through thick and thin, through hiatus after hiatus. YEARS of my life have been spent here. I don’t want a couple of rotten apples to spoil the whole barrel.

So, how about this?

Instead of harassing sweet artists who create lovely content and tag their works appropriately, you come and bitch to me?

I’ll take all your fucking salt. I’ll take your wank and ““discourse”“ and eat it until you’ve gone blue in the face from screaming. Leave my friends alone and fight me instead.
