HIDDEN OPPORTUNITIES
Environmental Perspective Vol. 1: Ecosystem
Today’s discussion will focus on the Ecosystem’s recovery and opportunities. YES! you have read it right, the environment is finally recovering after the non-stop destruction of man-kind, the Earth finally have time to at least recover some of the deteriorated areas due to human’s intervention. But is this pandemic really good for the environment?
Generally, it immensely affect the Earth’s environment positively, according the the article-- Are Pandemics Good for the Environment? by Elic Weitzel, a human ecologist and an archeologist, “It is being predicted that globalgreenhouse gas emissions will fall 8 percent this year: an unprecedented decline to levels not seen in a decade”. These are all because there is no or rather minimal human intervention--this may be more of an opportunity to the Earth’s environment rather than that of the humanity.
But, unknowingly this minimal human intervention to the Earth’s environment conveys a negative effect, if you combine the economic effect of the pandemic with the environmental effect it turns out to be negative. But How?: There are lots of businesses, government agencies and environmental organizations and charities that helps the environment’s sustainability. As you dig in deeper to the picture, these businesses or agencies will fail to function properly if there is insufficiency in resources particularly in financial terms, and this may result to extinction of some species or breed of plants and animals that needs human capacity in order to survive.
So what are the environmental opportunities of human from this pandemic?
With this pandemic, people will have a lot of unproductive time throughout the day, why not turn this unproductive period into something that will give progress to both the environment and the community. With just an hour a day, you are able to plant at least two seedlings including watering and the creation of its protection from destructive sources.
You might as well consider cleaning your surroundings as you finished doing your personal activities.
If you have the capability to do so, you may consider donating or simply join in spreading awareness that these environmental charities and organizations exists:
World Wide Fund for Nature
Waves for Water
Save Philippine Seas
Earth Island Institute
Greenpeace Philippines
Haribon Foundation
Rare
Mother Earth Foundation
Philippines Biodiversity Conservation Foundation
Marine Wildlife Watch of the Philippines
FAQ: People might be confused on why does this blog tackles different perspective other than what we have posted on the last discussion (i.e. Economic Viewpoint), to make everything lucid, this blog publishes articles regarding the HIDDEN OPPORTUNITIES during the pandemic, which means that we are not only focusing on the economic viewpoint of these opportunities, instead we will as well publish articles aside from the first series.

What is a Stock? (Click me for full description)
A stock is a share in the ownership of a company. So when you buy a share of stock, you are also buying a piece of a company. Once you invest in a stock, you will be a shareholder who is entitled to a portion of the company’s profits.
What is the Stock Market? (Click me for full description)
The stock market refers to the collection of markets and exchanges where regular activities of buying, selling, and issuance of shares of publicly-held companies take place. Such financial activities are conducted through institutionalized formal exchanges or over-the-counter (OTC) marketplaces which operate under a defined set of regulations. There can be multiple stock trading venues in a country or a region which allow transactions in stocks and other forms of securities.
How do we earn in the Stock Market? (Click me for full description)
The answer lies in following the rule of thumb: Buy Low, Sell High. The stock market is generally similar to the public market but instead of selling goods or services, it offers company stocks. As you purchase shares in the stock market you are eventually entitled to a portion of the company, and the fluctuation of the price per stocks is what gives your income or loss, yes you may and you will incur losses in the stock market since it is inevitable to lose in the stock market, that is why there is a saying “Invest what you can afford to lose”. But nothing will be hard in the stock market as you develop your analysis both in technical and fundamental sense–these two are very distinct with each other and requires a very long discussion hence there are more to consider aside from these two, so here are all the learning sources you will need:
Trader’s Lounge Ph Group
Trader’s Lounge Official Facebook Page
Tabula Rasa (By Gandakoh)
