About Bliss is a captivating book that was a delight to read and brought me such joy to see someone care so much for transgender children. This book made me realize and think about a lot of things that I wouldn't have considered previously. It's important to recognize fertility as a conversation that should be happening with transgender children and how they should be brought into that decision, rather than having the decision made for them. While this wasn't a topic I was familiar with before, now that I am, I hope to see more research in this area to see how things change with time. Full review on blog #AboutBlissTour #BookReview

Sometimes growing up means growing apart in this queer take on As You Like It featuring first loves and friend breakups, perfect for fans of The Gravity of Us and We Are Okay, from award-winning author Julia Drake. Celia Gilbert is the perfect friend—loyal, trustworthy, and committed to mending her best friends’ broken hearts. She’s the reason the trio is spending the summer in Lovesick Falls, the idyllic little town where Touchstone’s sort-of-uncle’s cabin was waiting to be house-sat by three unsupervised (but totally responsible) teenagers. After all, Celia, Ros, and Touchstone have been best friends since childhood. Sure, Celia is in love with Ros, and Touchstone was once in love with Celia — but that’s the beauty of a place like Lovesick Falls. If you fell in love, you could fall out. Unless you can change the other person’s mind. They started the summer closer than ever. Will living together tear them apart? #LovesickFalls #TBRBeyondTours #JuliaDrake

Jake didn’t think his night could get worse, but that was before his train stops deep underground and zombies attack and things go from worst-day-ever to run-for-your-life terror. Liv is good at running, mostly from other people straight into a bottle of vodka. But as chaos erupts on the city streets, depending on others may be her only chance at survival. London is gone. The world has ended. In the chaos that remains, seven strangers fight to escape the city. But as they navigate this new and dangerous world, they soon discover that surviving the apocalypse means confronting their deepest fears and making unthinkable choices. How We End is a heart-pounding diverse story with a character driven plot that explores how societal collapse forces ordinary people into extreme situations and reveals the lengths they’ll go to survive in a world gone mad. Will they make it out alive, or will they become just another casualty? Check out my full review here.

LA Times Festival of Books Review
This was my third year attending the Los Angeles Festival of Books (LATFOB) and honestly it was the best one that I have experienced. Now I am the person that sees rain on the forecast and if it’s not Disneyland I am visiting or a required activity like work, I will quickly change my plans to not venture out in the rain. I couldn’t do that this time though because there were authors I wanted to…

All The Noise at Once is an intriguing read that covers many heavy topics with grace, the topics that are covered are racism, police brutality, being on the spectrum, the intersectionality of being Black and Autistic, and more. This is a must read for anyone aged 14 and up to read a genuine portrayal of an Autistic teen who is navigating high school, as social stigma and racial injustice surround him. Hidden off the coast of Washington, veiled in mist, there is an island that does not appear on any map. And on that island is Ellery West. Ellery West has always been home for Faith. After an international move and a childhood spent adjusting to a new culture and a new language, the acclaimed school for magic feels like the only place she can be herself. That is, until Faith and another student walk into the forest, and only Faith walks out. Marked with the red stripe across her uniform that designates all students deemed too dangerous to attend regular classes, Faith becomes a social pariah, an exile of Ellery West. But all she has to do is keep her head down for one more year to graduate, and she gets to keep her magic. Because when students fail out of Ellery West, they have their magic taken away. Forever. And Faith can’t let that happen. Except terrifying things are still happening to students, and the dark magic that was unleashed in the forest still seems to be at work. To stop it, Faith and the other Red Stripes will have to work together, risking expulsion from the magical world altogether. #LovelyDarkandDeep #TBRBeyondTours #EliseBonnin
