I beat silent hill 2 for the first time and I am just baffled at the fan interpetations. For the fandom that claims to have the most complex and nuanced story telling I am shocked that I saw such black and white descriptions of James up until I played it myself. He was an amazingly nuanced character that seemed incredibly grey and racked with guilt. I just don't get how there is so much to disect in this game and the fans always loop back around to such surface level anylsis of James bad he no like women.

I do not understand the avoidance of silent hill 1 when talking on silent hill. It's dated and confusing but it leaves so much wiggle room for interpretations, theories, and headcannons.
