the thing about 7x04 is that well. it is simply objectively fucking ridiculous to believe that buck would purposefully hurt eddie to try and get tommy's attention. that he would purposefully hurt his best friend, who he tried to dig through several feet of earth for, who he dragged himself under an engine to pull him out of gunfire for, who he is and has been co-parenting with and has built a life with for the past six years, to get the attention of someone he barely knows. like. narratively, it makes absolutely zero sense. even if you were to take the shipping element out of the equation it makes absolutely zero sense. the idea that buck would jeopardise that life, would act out that way. BUCK. who is terrified of being abandoned, not worthy. who eddie has continuously reassured that he is worthy, not expendable. the idea that buck would go to that extreme for someone he just met, the idea that it wasn’t an incredibly emotionally-charged reaction to eddie paying attention that he usually gives to buck to someone else, spending considerable time that he usually spends with buck with someone else, that it wasn’t a desperate effort to counter (imagined) abandonment. well, it simply does not make sense. from a narrative point of view, it DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. like, sorry. but i simply cannot take you seriously if you firmly believe that buck's behaviour was entirely about tommy. especially when you consider that the entire next episode buck is concerned first and foremost about lying to eddie, about talking to eddie. especially when you consider that the only person buck came out to on purpose was eddie. HELLO?????

hey do you ever think about the fact that 911 had an episode about eddie moving to texas and buck losing his Whole Entire Mind about it and sabotaging eddie’s house viewings and trying to make eddie jealous of a DOG (which worked btw) culminating in buck moving into eddie’s House. and then for some reason maddie was kidnapped????? but amidst all of that they still had buck freaking out about eddie moving to texas and then ultimately they said Goodbye in the Rain while acting like it was their first day ever having arms. and then they had an episode about eddie being gone and buck losing his Whole Entire Mind about it (eddie mention count: 15) and hooking up with his ex in eddie's house to distract (self-confessed) from Missing Eddie and then said ex called eddie The Competition and implied he was only okay with getting back together because eddie was Out Of The Way and then buck was like wait hold on ☝️ eddie is straight and also a Renter and then implied he has Feelings for eddie but not for said ex who he just slept with and then maddie BUCK'S SISTER asked if he was In Love With Eddie and buck got like, weirdly defensive and thou doth protest too much about it. and Then they had two episodes of eddie In Texas and half of that was spent on facetime to buck being partnerhusbands co-parenting chris with 800 miles between them. and then. well, then for Some reason they killed bobby??????? and amidst all of that buck and eddie had a partnerhusbands domestic about groceries that devolved into a partnerhusbands domestic about their respective grief and not being able to Talk to each other. and then eddie flew his son 800 miles from texas and invited aunt pepa so they could have a Family Dinner to show buck how loved he is and that he's Not Alone and like. then they had eddie and chris Move Back to LA and buck just. decide to move out. for some reason. Suspicious. if you ask me.
