An alternate take on Gale’s spell book suggested by @nymeriian . It’s absolutely massive and thick with MINISCULE text. It’s got an insanely complicated arcane warding, in their words, “Karsus himself couldn’t get in”. Frequently Gale can’t get in either. It zaps him with the witch bolt alarm. To avoid it getting into the wrong hands, he keeps it magically attached to him with what’s essentially a magic bungee cord. It’s horrible

In my recent game I came across some dialogue from Gale I've not seen before, despite this being my 500000000th romance with this man. So we meet Lorroakan for the first time and convince him that Aylin is dead. Speaking to Gale, I think, ok, he's going to be like "hey what a shit wizard" or "what an arrogant little twat" because we've already seen his rubbish projections and it's Lorroakan, come on. Then Gale says this:

Yes, he falls short of - wait. What? Gale is roasting Lorroakan not for his magical skills. He is incensed by his inability to use multiple sources to verify information.

This absolute nerd is more pissed about having too few citations than the fact that Lorroakan is an amoral little jerk that wants to torturously leech off of an aasimar's soul for his own immortality.

He smiles upon arrival and unclips his fanny pack. He is soon lost to the methodical placement of his beach towel, his umbrella, his books, his bag of holding, his snacks from home, and his sitting flip flops. GALE Bother. Where did I place my nose clip? CAMERA PANS TO SHOW TAV WITH HER LEGS IN THE AIR, HANDS GRIPPING HER HEELS

Notable of course how in romance scenes Gale only ever seems confident at all when the Weave is involved, and becomes noticeably more insecure and self deprecating whenever something romantic is happening in, sorry I was about to call it "meatspace". The mortal plane or whatever.
