Just had to get this off my chest- People sometimes seem to forget that Virgil isn't a person WITH anxiety, he IS Anxiety in and of itself. So instead of treating him like Thomas' embodiment of something that everyone struggles with and that has, in some extreme cases, driven actual human beings to some of the most DRASTIC OF MEASURES, they treat him like a problematic teen who can get better and be happy with some therapy and working it out, which isn't even how people With anxiety work. Idk

prinxiety? well I know it’s really popular with the fandom because a lot of people interpret them fighting as romantic tension, but in my opinion the two of them don’t go well together. roman is shown to be kind of insecure, and Virgil is literally anxiety. it’s going to be harmful for both of them (especially Roman) besides, Virgil has been really cruel to Roman in the past but has rarely been forced to apologize, while Roman has to apologize for every joke that he makes. this will probably cause a power imbalance in the relationship, or at least influence it in some way.

Human AU: Ideas

Virgil being incredibly hypocritical when it comes to mental illness. will excuse his own behavior because of his anxiety (bonus points if he doesn’t actually have it, and fakes it to be ‘quirky’) but whenever a friend is struggling mentally he’s the first to accuse them of faking or being dramatic

Also demanding a lot of emotional energy from his friends and being very emotionally draining, while guilt tripping friends when they try to take time or care of themselves.

And going too far and hurting people for the ‘dark emo aesthetic’ and also because he doesn’t actually care for others’ feelings

I'm just gonna say it: I really, genuinely dislike Virgil. Patton gets on my nerves, sure, but I actively dislike Virgil. He's such an asshole for no damn reason. Everyone else tries so hard to be nice to him and make sure he's comfortable and okay but does he do the same? Fuck no.

So my idea for this would be that Insomnia is abused sleep?

So when Character! Thomas has insomnia its Anxiety beating/manipulating/whatever Sleep?

So Virgil would play on Sleeps fears/make him paranoid to the point where he can't do his job? Then he becomes Insomnia?? Idk

Trapped

Sanders Sides: Fanfic (Roman-centric)

Warnings: Anxiety, (sort of) panic attack, angst, passing out, trapping someone in a room, one(1) slight swear (not really, but just in case) (let me know if there’s more)

Characters: (sympathetic) Roman, unsympathetic Virgil, Patton and Logan are mentioned once, but unsympathetic Patton is implied, Remus and Deceit are referred to as “the others” (by Virgil) but don’t appear in the story itself

Summary: Roman unknowingly defies Virgil, and Virgil isn’t happy about it

i don't think this is very good but it's all i've got... unsympth virgil blaming one of the other sides every time something goes wrong. "i told you something like this would happen but did you listen? no!" just. immensely unfair guilt-trippy virgil

Sad time

So Virgil attacks Remus back when Thomas was a teenager for causing things to get worse

What Virgil doesn't realize a new side joined them which was what Remus was going to tell him

Deceit watches from a cracked open door and is traumatized

Fast foward to Remus healing he figures out how badly he was damaged

He can no longer take deep breaths without pain this means he can't swim as much he can't sing like before he can't even run

His kingdom has just become one tower for the dragon witch because anything more hurts him

He can't write without pain in his hands so he just cooks now as an outlet

Deceit remembers what Virgil did and he watched him walk away taking his room with him he remembers patching up Remus to the best of his child hands could do he remembers being powerless. He remebers the first time he froze seeing red paint.

Deceit at a young age started to put weights In his clothes to feel some sort of grounding.

Fast foward

Deceit's entire wardrobe is now basically metal fibers with the heaviest weights that can be held on the metal. He is ridiculously strong but doesn't even realize it he just adds weights when it feels light.

Remus now cooks all the time it makes him happy. He was run ragged from the appearance he made, but he was glad he did it even though Virgil was there.

Then Thomas summons everyone in the imagination

Roman Patton and Thomas decide that it's time to reconnect and build the relationships with all his sides because they are a part of him and he has to accept it.

Remus pretends to be excited and tries to gross everyone out so he could leave and go back to sleep he was having a bad pain day

It didn't work

Deceit basically decided to take Roman and Remus in a group so he could stay away from Virgil not realizing that he was basically carrying both Roman and Remus

OOOOOO I WISH I COULD ANIMATE I JUST LISTENED TO GOOD FOR YOU AND MY MIND GAVE ME A GREAT IDEA FOR AN ANIMATIC

Basically the light sides are pissed because Logan’s fallen in love with - or as the light sides see it ‘is just fooling around with’ - the dark sides. Patton does the Heidi parts, and gets a little violent towards Logan, and Logan runs to he thinks is Remus, but it’s actually Roman, who sings the Alana parts. Logan runs to who he thinks is Deceit this time, but it’s Virgil, who sings the Jared parts.

During the Evan bits, Logan sings, but then sees the dark sides in the distance. He runs towards them, only to be dragged back by the light sides. Living in the mindscape and therefore being able to manipulate it, they create a wall between them and the dark side.

They take Logan to his room, shove him in, and slam the door, locking it.

I’ve been seeing some kind of mean stuff in the fandom.

Not to me, because I treat the characters “right” and don’t make certain ones that the fandom loves “unsympathetic,” but still, it’s an issue.

2 points

1. If someone doesn’t like unsympathetic Deceit and or Remus, or any side-though I see it most with those two because of the antagonistic role they’ve been cast so far in the canon-then the very least you can do is tag it, especially if they ask politely

2. If someone doesn’t like Patton, or likes unsympathetic Patton, leave them alone!

I get it, we all have our opinions on characters.  I for one don’t like any of the Sides to be seen as Villains, which is why my story moreso makes them simply flawed individuals making mistakes, with the “Villain” not being a side at all.  Regardless, someone else’s perspective on what they think of a character does not take away from mine, or from anyone else’s either.

Those who like unsympathetic Patton are very careful to tag their content, as well as those who dislike Patton, but still, they are Harassed because they Hate the Dad!  The perfect sunshine boi who everyone HAS to love!

It’s sad.  If you’re the type of person who thinks that way, who harassed people because their opinion differs from yours, I don’t want you here.

Sorry if this is a bit preachy, I just keep seeing it and it frustrates me because I believe inclusiveness and kindness and respect are the most important values to uphold, and yet the fandom in some aspects is being exclusive, mean, and disrespectful.

Once again, if your harass others because of their opinions on certain characters, you are not welcome here

(NO, this does not include protection for people who ship RemRom, though I believe in blocking then harassing, because they simply aren’t worth your time)
