“Sometimes one must choose whether to be kind or honorable,“ he said. "Sometimes one cannot be both.”

The Gold
"I love your golden eyes
Golden butterflies
With fluttering wings lighter than air
So delicate they might tear
Old, used book pages turn gold
I love the yellow stain truth be told,
It reminds me a story lies in those pages
Not just of fiction, but of ages"
Snippets of an original by me :)

“I wanna be the broken love song that feeds your misery, and I can wish all that I want, but it won't bring us together. Plus I know whatever happens to me, I know it's for the better” - Waiting Room, Phoebe Bridgers

In the distant future, my favourite book is going to be in a second-hand bookshop, and the person who picks it up will see all that I’ve underlined and wonder about me. They’re gonna wonder about the stranger who felt so moved by a book they had to mark it. They’re going to feel connected to me somehow because we both chose this book or because this book chose us in a way.

"I'm worried we are entering an age of rage, where only anger will be considered an asset and the gentle will be mocked, then eaten. Those with soft voices will have their tongues cut out, as punishment for not using them the right way. Don't you know your words are weapons, kindness is obsolete, as obsolete as handwriting, as obsolete as silence and darkness in a city."
Rage - Florence Welch

“I look at people holding hands in the hallways, and I try to think about how it all works. At the school dances, I sit in the background, and I tap my toe, and I wonder how many couples will dance to "their song." In the hallways, I see the girls weanng the guys' jackets, and I think about the idea of property. And I wonder if anyone is really happy. I hope they are. I really hope they are.” - the perks of being a wallflower by stephen chbosky

“I sit there, stewing in guilt because I am a terrible friend and a terrible person who gets jealous of my best friend for being everything I wish I was. Confident. Outgoing. Happy.”

I am a balloon.
Destined to forever float
after being let go
because a child lost interest
or
simply found something better.
The child doesn’t even notice
and when they do just shrug and think
“It was only a balloon”
