i dont know how to describe this but dazai is like….passive aggressively possessive and jealous. he’s not outright about it like chuuya would be but….it’s easy to get dazai’s eye to twitch if you give anyone or anything more attention than you’re giving him. he wants all your free time spent with him and vice versa. it’s not that he’s necessarily insecure (he can read you a bit too well so he would know if you’re were betraying him in any way) but he just….needs you with him. theres a sort of underlying fear that you’ll slip through his fingers if he looks away for even a second. he treats you a bit like a toy, a beloved toy that he has to take with him everywhere. and it can be a little dehumanizing, and frustrating, to be dragged to and fro with little regard for what plans you may have. that’s not to say that he doesn’t treat you well, because he does, but even that can feel a bit manipulative sometimes. like he’s keeping you happy just so that you won’t question some of his more unsavory traits.

i think we as a society need to start accepting that fictional love stories need to be a bit toxic for us to go insane over them… like, sometimes you kinda need the two parties to be obsessed with each other and fucked up and willing to bring each other back from the dead instead of moving on and go to therapy i’m sorry😔
