She sighs and she asks him why he has to do this every time, and he laughs; he laughs as he holds her flush against him and tells her he just can’t help it.

But, before too long, they float slowly back down to the ground, as Venti gently sets her down on the grass. “…. Still, you made it! It really seemed like you weren’t going to be able to finish everything in time…”

As she finishes the little bow, he feels it – it’s… it’s her bell.

“Ganyu?” He asks as he turns toward her again.

  “Fair’s fair,” she smiles gently. “I took something from you, so now I’m giving you something from me in its stead.” ~~ To think I wrote so much of this ship tag, and I was so determined to do so - and even now, they call to me... ah. I miss being young and full of energy, haha. Read it here!

“What?” He says, as he waits for his soup to cool.

“What?” Xingqiu smiles, taking a bite out of his chicken. “It’s an honest question.”

“I know, it’s just….,” he sighs, confused. “We’ve been friends for a long time, Xingqiu. You know already.”

 “I do,” he laughs, “but it always just ends with ‘become a great exorcist and overcome my condition’ – isn’t there anything more… specific you’d like to do? Beyond someday visiting a hot spring?” He teases. ~~ I made this fic for a friend over the holidays a while back! It's a ship I don't see art of all that often anymore - or well, I guess maybe it's a me thing, since I don't participate in fandom all that often anymore. Read it here!

Title: there is so much pain we have yet to swallow Rating: Teen and Up Fandom: Genshin Impact Relationships: Bennett/Kujou Sara Content Warning: Childhood Neglect, Abusive Parents, Abusive Relationships Word Count: 5,169 Summary: For what she does remember, Kujou Takayuki - her father - then finds her, doubles back when they realize she is holding a vision, and takes her in as one of his own. And though she has often struggled with the feeling - struggles with it even now - she has always felt as though he did not love her like he loved his sons. Her gratitude makes her feel shameful, and then her anger makes her feel pain, and so the cycle repeats, for years and years.

Whether the reason was that she is a tengu, and therefore not human, or simply because she was adopted - even when it was his choice to begin with - she cannot say, and maybe to a point, it doesn’t matter anymore, though she would guess it's maybe both. ~~ I do have a love for rare pairs, don't I? I make a few tags for some ships, haha. Sometimes - because I don't read fics about Sara too often - I wonder if anyone else goes into the abuse that likely did go on in her family. She might not like to talk about it herself, but the fact she knows her adoptive father does not look at her like he looks at his sons - there's a deep pain there that's likely never going to go away. And now, they’re both stuck in a time not right for them.

… Well, it’s likely more not right for Kikyou, already fifty years gone in her original era, a dead woman walking – a relic of the past, a burning, fading memory.

“I have no friends.”

You don’t have friends, as you walk from school alone and occasionally eat your cup ramen from your local convenience store; you don’t like leaving your house, preferring to stay inside to study, because your grades are always suffering and you’d rather steep and stew in your own special brand of sadness, because at least then, you’re the only one getting cooked. No one will ever care about the girl standing on a street corner with her plastic umbrella, waiting for a person who was never going to appear.

Oh.” His face falls entirely, but he still looks at you, so sincerely. “I’ll be your friend.” ~~ I made this reader x canon fic for a dear friend's birthday! While I'm not opposed to them, most of them don't really have the quality I'm looking for, and I feel at this stage of my life, they don't really have the appeal I'm looking for in a work. I have voices in my head that tell me stuff." ~~ My one and only Disco Elysium I worked on heavily near the release of the final cut; how much things have changed since then! I loved how it used literature! I should really play the sequel sometime.

They crush down their fifth bottle of water of the day, tossing crumpled plastic into some neon-colored recycling bin on their way out to the vast golden landscapes of a never-ending desert.

They grind – hard – on purple railings, as they race upwards against the white and orange and brown bands of the canyon wall next them, until the railings curve upwards and they switch from smooth, violet tubing to the hard rock of the earth crunching underneath their wheels as they go fast and faster and faster still, until –

Until they jump, and suddenly, they’re flying. ~~

They always say to write for yourself, even if you're the only one to wants to read it! Zineth is still a fun proof-of-concept, even now, and one day, I hope it paves the way for a larger, fully-realized product. Read it here!
