Some Autolycus sketches🐺

This was originally supposed to be Diomedes, but when I drew the first sketch it just wasn't him and so I rolled with that XD

(For those, who don't know, he's Odysseus's grandfather and son of Hermes)

#my art #greek mythology #the odyssey #Autolycus #fun fact: this guy named his grandson Odysseus because he was in a bad mood that day #translations vary but in general the name means something like “one who knows hate”#which can be interpreted as either “one who hates” or “hated one”#I'm sure Odysseus had a lot to say about this choice after suffering for 20 years...#this was drawn in a sketchbook so forgive my clumsy attempt at trying to make it look closer to a scanned image than a photo #also for some reason the side profile reminds me of the actor who played lenny in marvelous mrs maisel but maybe that's just me idk
