Also adding the fact that I see a lot of “the meaning gets lost in tl” or another things too. And saying that japanese culture is different, I know that but it’s also weird how some of you seem to say since it’s Japanese content it’s okay to be less progressive because the country is still very conservative, but a lot of people just speak over the actual queer people of Japan. How do they feel about this? People in Japan aren’t as backwards as many of you seem to think they are. Enstars is indeed targeted at office woman in Japan but many players are lgbt in the Jpn fanbase !

And they don’t like some things enstars does either ! There have been outrages about some stories here and there, especially during the 1.5 tours and poltergeist, you’d be surprised with how many Jpn players don’t like akira either! It’s a sloppy road to walk but I mainly bring this whole debacle up because I do want actual good and genuine queer writing from enstars but praising it in the state it is now is not going to bring us anywhere. It’s the bare minimum at most, maybe enstars isn’t the game for it, after all it’s a game that focuses heavily on fujo/Oshi and yume culture at the same time. But things can definitely be better and I wish people could realize that without feeling attacked, I’m not saying this as an attack I am saying this in a way that I want the game to do better on it. And that people realize it can be better without settling for the bottom of the barrel in genuine queer rep.

If you genuinely think enstars has good queer writing or rep I have news for you tumblr dot com. Everything for happyele mostly relies on fujo bait money. There’s lgbt themes of course but they’re written so around the bush or a shitty joke has to come first that it doesn’t even matter if it’s good or not. I do not want to see a game that throws arashi under the bus in almost every single story and throws literal slurs at her and won’t even add her pronouns to the English version to be labeled “good queer rep”. Are we forgetting the valk story literally had a whole trans misogynistic joke in it? Calling men who dress in woman clothing prevents? Is this the good queer rep you guys are talking about?

It does nothing more then stigmatize and keep things on the same level or throw some gay context in for a quick yaoi bait buck or two.

And yes I like enstars! But calling it good queer rep is beyond ridiculous, you can like something and criticize it. Somebody saying enstars doesn’t have good queer rep is not an attack! It’s a fact that can be and will be critiqued, and please just support actual queer creators on their stories instead of a praising a goddamn rhythm idol gacha game for “good queer rep” that’s not actually not there at all,
