wanting to use wales as inspiration as a non-welsh speaker...
hey gang, pushing this post out into the void to try and get a bit of help. i'm currently writing my own fantasy novel, with the city its in being a fictional-fantasy version of wales. i have welsh heritage, but i wasn't born in wales and do not speak welsh, so as much as i want to include welsh culture i don't want to mess anything up and cause offence. can my welsh speaking fellow writers help me out a little?
what are some integral parts of welsh culture you'd love to see represented in a fantasy novel? what things should i be wary of talking about or using? can you help me with naming my characters and their correct welsh pronunciations?
anything would be a huge, huge help. thank you all!!
