From thousands of miles away in Ireland, I have watched my family endure unimaginable conditions of fear, displacement, hunger, and thirst in Gaza. It has robbed me of sleep, struck my heart with constant fear, and caused indescribable pain and agony.

Rana (@ranafam4) has reached out to me on the behalf of herself and her family. Rana is a mother of four children. Before the war Rana was a professor with a masters degree, and her husband established language training centers. Now they are forced to live in a test and are suffering from famine. Rana cannot find enough food to ease any of their hunger. Not only are they starving, deprived of food, but they haven't had a chance to eat vegetables or meat in months. Trivial as it may sound, that is a code to just how bad it is. It has reached a point that one of Rana's daughters has been hospitalized because of the lack of food. There is a good chance that she might be sent there again if she doesn't get the nutrition she needs.

I ask that you donate for multiple reasons. - Rana and her children need food urgently. Famine is an extremely real threat that has, and will, kill many in Palestine. I refuse to let it be anyone in Rana's family. - Rana's husband, Ahmed, is trying to raise the funds to rebuild what was lost because of the occupation. He wants to rebuild the language centers he had established before the war. Rebuilding the centers would help rebuild the lives they had. - Any other funds can help Rana's family be supported in other ways. Clothes, medicine, tents: all things that are in short supply. All things they might need badly in the future. Along with donating, please share. Repost, make a new post, cross platform share, etc. This makes sure Rana can get a more stable flow of income and prevent major stalling on her fundraiser. It also helps spread her fundraiser to others who might not have seen it otherwise.

The Occupation has systematically destroyed every social infrastructure that makes civil society possible, whether it be healthcare, food systems, or education. In an attempt at genocide, they've targeted schools, hospitals, businesses, and every person who supports their community through their profession.

Rana and Ahmed (@ranafam2) are educators from Khan Yunis (Northern Gaza Strip), with Rana as a statistics professor at the Islamic University of Gaza and Ahmed as the principal of his school: both institutions have now been destroyed.

Palestinians have survived occupation for well over a century now, and they will remain steadfast, but they need your support.

In my conversation with Rana, she told me:

"Providing food and drink for my children right now is impossible. A bag of flour costs 1000 shekels ($272) and milk, for my little girl, is 100 shekels ($28). This is the least of what we need.

As for the tent, today my children froze from the cold because the tent is very, very, very worn out. And we drowned when it rained for a while. We couldn't sleep.

Please, if you know someone who can donate to me, I need it very, very much so that I can at least survive."

To help them get through this week, we must raise at least $1000 to cover the cost of flour and milk. The long term goal is $100,000.

I have a family that needs healthy food and clean water and I can't find them because of the siege and the closure of the crossings. They suffer from malnutrition, lack of medicine and the spread of skin allergies due to the extreme heat. This is a picture with the rest of my family. The war took all their dreams and ambitions. They were left without education and without shelter. Their fate has become unknown. A picture of them all. Unfortunately, time is not on our side, as the aggression on the Gaza Strip escalates every day. The sounds of explosions get louder the closer they get, and all family members feel terrified, especially the children.
