Whenever there’s discussion of apocalyptic stories and someone says “it’s not realistic that everyone dies because of zombies or other people when the leading cause of death in an apocalypse would be infection or disease.” I feel the need to agree, but also ask: would you feel satisfied if your favorite badass zombie killer character died of dysentery? Would you consider that a good end to a story?

Look, I love picking apart the realism of stories as much as the next guy, but people have to understand that stories are both a form of entertainment and a way to express something. If every story was extremely realistic then no one would read them.

Easy shrimp recipe for anyone with a rice cooker

Put your rice in the cooker

Add raw shrimp

Add soy sauce, butter, seasoning of your choice, and sesame oil

Add water

Turn on your rice cooker

Enjoy

I make this all the time and it’s amazing. The shrimp has a soft and creamy texture when it’s done and the rice is very flavorful. I have a lot of “throw in it a pot and forget” recipes but this is one of my favorites.
