So a year ago I wrote a fix it ficlet that goes pretty perfectly with this art! I love that we are thinking basically the same thing. I even called it "What if Aziraphale allowed himself to say it" lol

(after the kiss)

A: I lo…I love you.

C: Then don't leave.

A: I don't want to leave you.

C: Then don't!

A: I don’t have a choice.

C: There's always a choice!

A: I'll never forgive myself if I don't!

C: Sure you will. I do it all the time. Just takes practice.

A: No, you really don't. You never forgive yourself.

C: *scoff* that why you keep doing it for me?

A: Crowley!

A: If you don't want to be an angel then…I don't have a choice but to go back. To protect you. To protect US.

C: I don't need protection, Angel! I've been taking care of myself for years, in case you haven't noticed.

A: Of course I noticed. I also noticed when you needed holy water to protect yourself. I noticed when we had to switch bodies to protect ourselves. I noticed that the only reason you didn't receive extreme sanctions was that Beelzebub went rogue. They're never going to stop trying to destroy you, you know.  Your very existence is a threat to them.

C: So what! I'll take my chances! 

A: I won't take chances with your life.

C: Ngk.... So you're going to abandon me here "FoR mY oWn GoOd" ?

A: Not…abandon. Just a temporary leave of absence. And I'm doing this for me too, because I need you to be safe. And I'm doing this for the world because…it's our home. 

C: (sigh) You'll never stop trying to do good, are you Angel?

A: No, I suppose not. But isn't that why you love me?

C: Oh really, Angel? And what makes you think I love you?

A: Crowley! Don't be cruel.

C: Well...like I told you years ago…I love you because you're just enough of a bastard to be worth loving. 

A: (takes Crowley's hand) That's not exactly what you said back then.

Amazing! though i thought crowleys glasses in that scene were just david's real glasses, he was wearing them as he was crossing the street with real traffic on it (open set). but that'd be amazing if he actually wore those in S3 and showed his beautiful eyes.

I was reading this scene in the book last night. (first time reader). It made me realize that Terry purposefully brought our attention to Aziraphale wiping the top of the bottle. He wanted us to really notice the fact that they are choosing to *share* 1 bottle. I just love the subtle subtext. Sub squared.

I was today-years-old when I realized that these two could have easily conjured up two separate wine bottles...they could have easily snapped a paper cup (or two) into existence...But they didn't.

Some footage of David and Michael being filmed at the GO set went around the internet and I’m on edge since then. I needed to draw them in these outfits and hairstyles.

I had a helpful thought re: my sadness about S3 being cut short. The biggest thing I was looking forward to in the series finale is - a scene where Aziraphale finally tells Crowley how he feels about him (verbally, not just with his heart eyes lol). And I'm pretty confident we will be getting that!! So...can I get a wahoo?

ps. my husband was playing stellaris and evidently obtained the power to "commune with the ineffable." i had to take a pic.

S3 Spoiler Alert!!! For those of you who saw the leaked photos/videos of the GO3 filming. Here is what I think is happening in that scene:

I think this scene is close to the end of the episode. It is after they averted Second Coming. I don't think it's a flashback, Crowley's hair and clothes look modern.

I think it IS Aziraphale inside the bookshop. It is his New bookshop. His Old bookshop got destroyed in some battle, or maybe he gifted it to Muriel because she had no other home.

The body language of Aziraphale in the scene looks nervous. And there's that photo of him looking out the window, pensively. All that suggests to me that it could be the scene where Aziraphale tells Crowley how he feels about him!

I am totally crazy? Just seeing what I want it to be?
