So I was pouring myself a bowl of frootloops, and then the idea hit me. You know, we always see Danny join the Justice League and all the shenanigans that ensue from that. You know what I want to see. Vlad joining the Justice League. So picture this: He's like mid-redemption, but Danny is veeery skeptical of him playing nice (no matter the apologies), so Vlad comes to the not-so-natural conclusion of "Hey I'll just be a hero to prove to Daniel that I can be a good guy"

Danny is unaware that as the ghost king, he is able to command liminal beings. After being mockingly harassed by Robin he just says “Geez man. Can’t you be nice for once?” Robin can’t disobey. He can’t say no to any asks for a favor. He can’t tell anyone when they’re making him uncomfortable or distressed in any way. He can’t speak his mind because it could be considered rude to that person. How long does it take for the Bats to figure out what’s happening and how does Damian let the batfam know that something is wrong.

I saw a few posts that regard belief from others empowering ghosts like how it works with other fantasy creatures (mainly gods) so I formulated this just because.

Clockwork is... For a lack of better term, sick. (was thinking that the Flashes doing time travel stuff makes the poor guy get sick like that)

Its like if that one grandfather clock that came with the old house you just moved into is finally breaking down the moment you least expected it.

Anyways, Danny is a good mentee/grandson. And the only solution that he can really use is...

You guessed it, make a Clockwork™ based religion in the human world so that this empowers and therefore heals clockwork up.

Danny is very into this religion thing to the point it borderline looks like a cult that is somehow very quickly growing.

Need to spew this out before I forget.

I really, really just pictured Danny getting zapped into something like Puppycat. (you know from bee and Puppycat)

Follow up, Jason would be his equivalent of Bee because uhhhh, ghostspeak would be like how Puppycat speaks and Jason being revived and contaminated probably let's him understand this weird cat that smells like a dog and makes weird sounds

Let me try to keep this short.

First ingredient, we have Danny integrated into Young Justice.

Second ingredient, it's Phantom who's a part of the team, meaning that Danny is always a ghost when present.

Third ingredient, his whole ghost gig falls apart really quickly- So everyone in the team knows he can turn between Human and Ghost

Fourth ingredient, everyone- and I mean everyone- thinks that Fenton and Phantom have a Dr Fate thing going on. They are totally convinced that the two are different beings and that they alternate control when changing forms.

Fifth ingredient, something goes horribly wrong in Amity, be it reveal gone wrong or something else, and Danny just, stays as Phantom 24/7 now. He can change back whenever he wants, don't get me wrong, he just doesn't.

Sixth and final ingredient, make everyone think Phantom has gone full Nabu™ and taken full control.

Ok but add Danny and Jason looking kinda alike, thus making Batman think that Danny is somehow, for reasons unknown, Jason's ghost- Or a part of it.

Danny moves to Gotham and decides to be low key about heroing. Sticks to the background, doesn't tell people his moniker.

Danny runs across Batman one day, and Batman asks who he is. Batman has already done his research, consulted the right people, and knows this new guy is a ghost. A spirit.

And Danny, fresh from a night patrol and listening to Sam chatter on and on about Edgar Allen Poe in his comm all night, suffers what is commonly known as a brain malfunction. A brain fart, if you will.

So he goes completely still, unnaturally so, and stares eerily at Batman. Now realistically, he's mentally screaming into the void that is his thoughts.

"I'm all that remains of your biggest mistake."

And then Danny turns invisible out of sheer embarrassment and nopes out.

Meanwhile, Bruce is now convinced his city is being haunted by the ghost of a victim he couldn't save.

Admittedly I do not know as much as I should when writing about this. But anyways.

Bruce, lost in time stream yeah?

I vaguely remember reading that he didn't have his original memories in each timeline, correct me if I'm wrong.

But even if I'm wrong that doesn't matter because I'm throwing that out the window.

Make him have inklings of his real memories, make that man miss his family that is so dysfunctional it borders on functional. I want him sad, like a cold wet cat in the rain.

And then of course we have Clockwork who goes something like: "Ah for the better timeline this man should be less sad."

How does one reduce the sadness ratio from a man lost in time with some sort of amnesia?

Exactly, get your adoptive ghost son and tell him to keep the sad man company while he is lost in time. It's not like Bruce is gonna remember Danny when he goes back to his time. Or would he get that same amnesia but now regarding Danny? Who knows.

Why does this sound like the equivalent to people putting chemicals in pools to- what do they put chemicals in pools for again? Bacteria? What's the Lazarus pit equivalent of bacteria? Blob ghosts?

Putting Blood blossoms in the pits prevents the ectoplasm from charging up too much therefore preventing it from becoming a portal and/or making blob ghosts?

What would happen if you poured blood blossoms into a Lazarus pit?

And I mean... We could shrink other, more despicable rogues.

But where's the fun in that.

But you know what is more fun? Have the Batfam panic because Jason's coms and trackers went offline only for them to go to the last updated location and finding a pocket sized Red Hood just laying there unconscious.

I do wonder if this would make the Pit madness better or worse.

Because, the body:madness ratio is now a 1:10 type of thing. So like, itty Hood has rabies or something.

Meanwhile Danny was just fixing the shrink ray to make it need something like a finger print for it to function- You know like the portal back home. This is so his rogues can't use the ray to unshrink themselves if they get smart enough. So what if the gun fired a few shots while he was tinkering? They probably hit nothing.

But he can't reasonably leave with ghosts still being an issue.

So of course Danny dies the most rational thing he can do.

Get the Fenton Shrink-Ray and use it on his rogue gallery so he can take them with him to supervise without causing any trouble wherever he's going.

Of course we all know the first design of the Shrink-Ray disabled powers but let's assume this one is upgraded to only weaken said powers.

It's a genius idea.
