you forgot "Weird Al" Yankovic, the best
midway through this post I remembered he was, in fact, more than a celebrity. carry on
Would I trust celebrities to drive the train?

I'd very much like to punch a feminist.
I’d never, ever hurt a lady but I’d be happy to punch a feminist. It’d bring me great joy.

so what I'm getting is that the most basic sword in media is the longsword and the most basic sword in history is the shortsword?

ok if you're going for specifically the "most basic sword" then that honour can go to longswords. I guess. I'd prefer shortswords get that title because they're one-handed like most other weapons but whatever.

UUUGH fine I'll get into detail
they're not "basic" or "bad" and, even though nowadays they're really common in media, people in europe most often used shortswords or rapiers for self defence (because they were easier to carry) and sabres for horseback (or self defence, because they're easy to carry and people often already had them). longswords were mainly kept and used by knights, and THEY often had them and used them when dueling or defending themselves outside of combat.
note: I say "people" as in "people who would reasonably own a sword" and not "everyone in europe"
P.S: if I missed a detail just point it out I'm a smidge tired right now

iirc you miss the best parts. not that those parts had to be good, but you miss those.
is it... normal? to miss the people that hurt us? pain is what we knew for so long that being in a position to know anything else feels... wrong? pain is comfortable. we miss the real bad pain.
