House Targaryen is an allegory for colonization. From the very start of their line they have taken things that aren't theirs. Whether it be people, land, kingdoms, and lives. Until Aegon I, Visenya, and Rhaenys came around and waged war against everyone in Old Valyria and the neighboring kingdoms, House Targaryen really wasn't all that important. They weren't even the most powerful house in the kingdom because it wasn't their kingdom until they tore it away from the rulers and killed the people who disagreed. Same with what they did with Dorne for years. House Targaryen is full of colonizers, blood purists, and terrorists of all kinds. While this is not me saying I hate every Targaryen character, I am saying that it's important to know that they are a realistic representation of colonization because:

They came in > They stole the land and the throne > They killed the people that disagreed or tried to defend themselves > Their families took over until their house finally died out.

I cannot possibly be the only one who is genuinely so tired of the "Team Green" or "Team Black" discourse. I'm tired of seeing people get called Nazi's, I'm tired of seeing people get told to kill themselves, and most of all I'm tired of seeing innocent actors get insulted and attacked on every social media in existence because they did their job and made a light-hearted promo video. You guys literally cannot just have some silly fun with your favorite shows and books, you have to start a real life civil fucking war like OUR lives are at stake. Trust me, Aegon II Targaryen himself will not come through the screen and have sex with you if you tell Team Black members to kill themselves, call them Nazi's, and make fun of their actors' appearances. Daemon Targaryen himself won't come through the screen and have sex with you if you tell Team Green members to kill themselves, call them rapists and misogynists, and insult their actors' appearances. Grow the fuck up.

I really like how these two gifs subtly show who Helaena is comfortable with and who she's not. We know Helaena is not big on physical touch and she flat-out refuses to let certain people touch her so this scene was great. The gentle touches against Aemond's bicep and the way his arm just slightly twitches towards her. The way her fingers grasp at Criston's arm as he shields her the best he can with their situation at hand. I really like this aspect of Helaena's character because it gives her more depth in subtle yet beautiful ways.

Why is the first thought most of the fandom members have always "Let's make fun of the actors appearance that is completely out of their control under the disguise i'm only talking about the character." Like it's disgusting. Leave Matt Smith alone.

Already, the focus of my post was Emma D'Arcy / Rhaenyra not Matt Smith / Daemon, even though I named him :

Next, Matt Smith has tons and tons of fans. He is a great actor that most people adore with enormous charisma. What problems would there be with having him headlining ? None. Many movies and show have proven this. His comment makes no sense. This is just gratuitous hatred.

Then finally, beauty is something suggestive.

And I think, like many, that Emma D'Arcy is magnificent and deserves to have his rightful place as the main character of this story.

It's simply shameful that Olivia Cooke is highlighted more than Emma, or even Milly Alcock in the casting list, who is no longer even part of HOTD and only played Rhaenyra for 5 episodes and wasn't even the first cast for Rhaenyra, as younger actresses were cast to match Emma D'Arcy and Olivia Cooke.

Fuck this kind of person.

House of the Dragon Hot Take except I don't care what number I'm on because this is a more important post than usual.

I feel like the majority of GOT/HOTD/ASOIAF fans see this post as "common sense" but a lot of you don't act on it so I'm just going to say it anyway. Stop threatening the actors. Stop bullying the actors. Stop threatening people that have different opinions then you (i'm SPECIFICALLY looking at toxic team green and team black stans right now.) I have seen people like Iwan Rheon, Carice van Houten, Jack Gleason, Sophie Turner, Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Tom Glynn-Carney, and Matt Smith get treated like absolute SHIT because of their characters, their appearance, their gender, and their acting. It is truly disgusting and dehumanizing to go on social media and see people sending death threats to actors and actresses because people don't like their character. I'll give examples on what I mean:

Iwan Rheon - Has been harassed for playing Ramsay.

Jack Gleason - Got sent death threats for playing Joffrey.

Kit Harington - Got sexually harassed in public numerous times and I believe threatened at least once for playing Jon. He also gets made fun of for wanting to be seen as more than a pretty face and body. He also got ridiculed for saying being randomly touched in public and having people practically harassing him about his appearance makes him reasonably upset.

Matt Smith - People bully him for his appearance, harassed him AND his MOTHER on twitter, and people accuse him of supporting abuse towards women because he plays Daemon.

Carice van Houten - Got sent death threats for playing Melisandre.

Sophie Turner - Got bullied off of almost every social media at some point for playing Sansa. She's also the victim of almost every misogynist GOT fan on the internet all for playing Sansa.

Emilia Clarke - Has been sexually harassed in public and gets bullied online for being a "terrible actress" for doing what the script and director tells her because she played Daenerys.

Tom Glynn-Carney - Got rape allegations put against him on twitter because of the episode where Aegon rapes Dyana. They said that because Aegon is a rapist Tom is too.

I have said this time and time again, you guys are fucking EMBARRASSING!! Get a god damn grip on yourselves and instead of acting like morons who can't separate character from actor/actress go outside and breathe in some fresh fucking air.
