Welcome one and all to the 2024 Harry Potter Podfic Minifest! This is a casual fest highlighting new podfics of works in the Harry Potter fandom.

You can find the full fest rules and FAQ at the hp_podfic_mini_fest_2024 collection on AO3, but here’s the overview:

no minimum length, no maximum length (podfics of microfics welcome!)

any audio work featuring the Harry Potter fandom is welcome

submitted works must not have been posted elsewhere before

works-in-progress should not have previous chapters posted

to participate, add your work to the AO3 collection by Friday, September 27

new works will be revealed every day starting on Tuesday, Oct 1

Facial expression description library (2/?)

Wow, okay, I was fully prepared for this idea to be considered stupid and fail miserably but apparently not??! 🥺😭❤️ Thanks so much to everyone who shared and responded to that first post! So many brilliant descriptions came together there! I made a separate side blog for it now, because reblogging that first post would get messy quite quickly, and new posts would probably drown in the chaos that is my main account.

For everyone who might not have seen the previous post, this is the idea of the FEDL:

Describing expressions is hard, especially for more nuanced faces than “smile” or “frown”. The point is now to find/take and post a gif or picture of an expression that needs words. (If you make your own post, use the tag #facial expression description library, and/or #fedl, so it’s searchable.) Then everyone responds to/reblogs that post with how they would describe that expression. It takes a moment to build it up, but in the end we all have a neat little library of gifs and descriptions and we just have to find the one we need when we need it.

Now I still have no following and this side-blog even less so. Subsequently, I (again) humbly ask if you would consider to reblog this even if you don’t add your own description. Even just a like (to appease the algorithm-gods) would be great!

But on to round 2: How would you describe this expression?
