Getting close to the end of finishing making an ice cream cone artwork is not half as devastating as getting close to the end of eating one 馃槄馃構馃崷

Yellow Seahorse
The yellow seahorse Swam as One Finding her treasures Of Silver stones And us mere mortals Think there's none!
Our human hands Wanting those treasures Shallowy go Into the crust We pull them back out ... Just a handful of dust!
Everything on a 4" x 4" wood Ampersand panel: Gouache paint, ink, pencil, beaded textile art with a yellow sequin to match the majestic creature - maybe this is the treasure he's hoping to find 馃挍
Are there other animals who live beneath the waves that you'd love to see me paint and sew?

If you also live in the UK you'll know what a lovely Spring season we've had so far for 2025! It's been the sunniest March since the Met Office started tabulating sunshine in 1910.
Making nature artwork, including pieces inspired by Spring and Summer never gets old, and I've got a little collection of garden inspired pieces in my shop
I hope you will enjoy taking a look at them! 馃尯馃尰
These 2 here share the same name and poem:
Nature's Bullion
Sweet, sweet nuggets Giant nectar drops Guardians of blossoms Chaperons of crops They do the buddings biddings And savour natures copse

Pink Savanna
She wears it well
Those pieces of pink
Vast land, Savanna
With riches, her kisses
Like American minks
She's shy and she hides
But look at her colours
In vast land, Savanna
She's minx and Madonna
Sometimes you just need to make something really pretty and write a pretty poem to go with it馃┓
I made this one a while back... and really want to build a collection of mini arts around this poem when I have time. Artists should be given a few extra hours each day for special projects - like a portal we can go into that just hands us extra free time and when we come back out, it's like time stood still for us and we haven't missed out on sleep or anything else important!

If you saw my post the other day, you'll know that Brain of Britain over here 馃檲 found 3 little artworks this past weekend - all sitting in a box, patiently waiting for me to remember them... and upload them onto my website. They somehow got forgotten when I moved from Etsy to my own site, whoops!
I'm actually going to do a little more to this one. Not a huge amount, but there are a few little places on it that I think need a bit of tweaking, so looking at work with new eyes can definitely have its benefits!
For now - this is the piece as it is - 'Wild, Wildflowers'. 馃拹

Turn back time to when I learnt that the moon was made of strawberries, and not cheese 馃檭
The initial pieces I made for this ended up in the bin! But, I then pulled myself together, rescued those bits, and somehow it ended up being one of my favourite pieces I've made and I had great fun with making it in the end, so it just goes to show that things are worth persevering with sometimes!
It's all on a 4" x 4" wooden Ampersand panel
The quirky little strawberries are fabric with beads and stitching
I created the moon with paint, ink, and pencil - photographed it and printed it so I have a little batch of pink moons to use in other pieces, too. A piece of felt is underneath the moon so it's slightly raised off the panel. The background is also painted, with ink and pencil. The strawberries inside circular motifs are painted on paper.

Soooooo. This past weekend I found 3 little artworks that I never listed on my new site; somehow when I moved my shop from Etsy to my own site, these poor little pieces got forgotten and they've been sitting in a box, feeling very left out! Given the weather at the moment, it seemed fitting to re-upload this one first - it's called 'Springtime!' 馃尭馃尯馃拹

The 5th (and final for now) version of Razzle Dazzle is nearly completed, and it will be the largest one: Canvas panel size is 5" wide x 7" high.
I'm hoping to get it finished soon (ish)! 馃専
Mixed media: Gouache, inks, pencil, pretty beads, sequins, hand-stitched fabrics. Many, many minor finger injuries, courtesy of the beading needle have also gone into the making of this one, ha ha.

I think this is the razzliest, dazzliest Razzle Dazzle that I've done so far... It's the 4th one, and the 5th and final one (well, the final one for now) is on the way too!
3 concentric circles made with Gouache, inks, pencils - on paper and varnished so they're shiny 馃槏
Everything else is a labyrinth of tiny hand stitched fabrics with bright coloured threads, beads and sequins.
It's on a canvas... I think I buried the canvas in all that textile art 馃槄 so you'd just never know! And it's all permanently attached to a 6" x 6" white card and is framed.
It's available!

And sewing whilst watching Sleeping with the Enemy doesn't help with not knocking over little tubs of beads - I'm rubbish at staying calm with anything remotely resembling a thriller. And those 1990's tense movie musical scores get me every time! 馃槺
