Ahoy mateys! Just conquered the high seas and completed this epic Flying Dutchman 3D wooden puzzle! This intricate pirate ship was a true test of patience (and rum-drinking skills ) but the final result is a treasure to behold.

I got some squishy mail this week!

This was for a top I quilted by my friend the wonderful Party Murphy. She said "do what you like", which is a little like a blessing and a curse. I saw constellations and gardens when I looked at it, so I decided to do both! Floral stars in a swirling organic garden. I think it ended up with more than 57 unique stars in the end, and took about a month to complete.

Now that macrame is “back” again, I guess maybe I should pull out this UFO (unfinished object) I started in 1980-something. (Yes, you read right: I started this in the 1980s. Before the World Wide Web launched.)

Instead of setting it up and working both sides simultaneously, I did one side, and ran completely out of will and desire to do it again, so I found a dowel, and it’s hung various places where I’ve lived: Over a small bathroom window. Over an altar space. Over computer monitor surrounded by Milagros. Over the door to my room

Now I want to find a nice leather or canvas tote-like bag, and give this thing its original purpose: Wearable Art.

Let’s see how far I get this time.

New zine! Hipster Doctor Who

Doctor Who celebrates its 60th anniversary next month. I collected some quotes from the Doctor in a zine…with random hipster photos. 🤭 Saturated colors, vintage objects, and a soft tone—this style of photo was all over the internet (especially Tumblr!) in the late 2000s and early 2010s.

20 pages printed in full color with a cardstock cover. Available in my Etsy shop.

Before it gets too busy around here, I wanted to take the time to thank you for following Craft Discoveries. We are over 128,000 strong! (I got goosebumps writing that.) I hope to continue searching high and low to help give you ideas for your creativity, and hopefully bring some joy into your lives.

This is my laptop wallpaper for the month. I decorated these wooden bird houses a few years ago for an ornament swap, and to this day, they're my most favorite ornaments I've ever made. There was a lot of tissue paper and matte medium involved. 😄

A little housekeeping.

I want to apologize for the lack of posts. It's been a month. But I especially want to point out the lack luster posts without images. Something has changed in the way I can post directly from other Websites. This platform, which I love, hasn't been supporting the format of the photos that go with the articles I search the web for and share with you here. I don't feel right about taking screenshots and copying them because of copyright issues, so I decided to just share the parts that I can. I hope you're still finding the links helpful.

Once again, thank you for being a part of this community! I appreciate each and every follow, submission, and heart you so generously give. And a huge shout-out to my daughter @winifredrose for helping this blog grow by sending me a constant flow of links and ideas when her work schedule allows it.
