@cellsshapedlikestars is one of our most prolific authors for sure and always gives us moodboards and a heads-up when posting or updating a fic

Weird question but what would you do if you found someone you blocked on AO3 wrote a fic inspired by you and gave due credit? Obviously they can't use the inspired by feature but they have mentioned you and your fic on authors notes and linked the fic.

How would you react ?

This feels like such an oddly specific question lol. The only person I've blocked on ao3 posted a word-for-word copy of one of my fics and gifted it to me (which ao3 kindly removed after I contacted them). I think I've got a few users muted but I don't really pay attention to ao3 anymore so I can't say it matters to me.

On the other hand, anyone caught pirating my original romance novels gets a lovely cease and desist letter with threats of legal action to follow, etc. Sad but necessary and nothing gets my blood pressure up faster than pirating works that make me moolah. The fic I wrote and shared for free? No one's annoyed me enough to lock it or delete it all... yet :)

Did you ever write a story where Sansa goes west to marry harry hardying but he died before she gets there and then Jon snow takes her in (begrudgingly) because harry was his business partner? I remember it being really good and now I can’t find it

It’s just before Christmas that Jon truly realizes what trouble he’s in. He’d been able to delude himself for a time, insisting that he and Lady Sansa were only friends, but towards the end of December he has to brave the truth--that he’s falling for her. It’s not love yet, perhaps, but close enough that Jon knows what he feels, and how strongly he feels it. Or, a Jane Eyre inspired AU where Jon is the tutor that's come to Winterfell manor to teach Sansa's nephews, and falls in love with his distant employer.

The Stark title falls to Sansa as the only remaining Stark and she returns north to Winterfell after over a decade in the south. In her absence, Jon has transformed the town and become a wealthy gentleman. Slowly, Sansa tries to build a new life for herself and discover who she is again.

North and South .5k, incomplete

The industrial revolution in England has caused a shift in the fortunes of the poor and the rich. Sansa discovers the plight of such when her father moves their family from the beautiful south of Helstone to the drab and rough North that is Milton. She is introduced to the aloof, brooding and proud Jon Targaryen a mill owner in Milton and they clash over ideals and philosophies. However that will not last long, once Jon has set his heart and eyes on Sansa, the headstrong and noble daughter of the Stark household.

Coming out of his momentary stupor, Harry shakes his head. “Sir, I thank you for the offer but my debts are significant and I doubt your acquaintance will-“ “He has the means to cover it all and is happy to do so.” “I-...” her husband scratches at the back of his head. “Repayment will be.... slow. I do not have the means to-“ “Repayments will not be necessary.” Sansa frowns. This is surely some sort of entrapment for her husband. Is he bright enough not to fall for it? Who is this gentleman and who is this acquaintance of his that seemingly wants to throw away his money on a scoundrel like her husband? Harry’s brow furrows. “No repayments? Then what does your friend want in return?” The gentleman’s gaze flicks over Sansa’s form again. “Your wife.”

Once upon a time, Sansa Stark had had a crush on him when they were younger and later, Jon had developed one for her but their timing wasn't right. When he'd punched her boyfriend on Christmas Eve during his last year of school, he'd believed that Sansa would probably hate him forever. He was wrong.

Twelve years after leaving Hogwarts to pursue a career as an Auror, Jon returns to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts when a serious injury leaves him unable to continue in his chosen career. There he'll be reunited and become reacquainted with Sansa Stark who is now the Head of the Hospital Wing for the school. And perhaps for once, their timing will be just right.

Just going to randomly express how happy it makes me when I see a successful self-published author I admire admitting her love of a fanfic ship to all her followers like yes we don't have to be ashamed of loving this stuff but it's nice knowing she felt free to give that non-canon ship a shoutout as some inspiration for her books

(no it wasn't jonsa and that's fine but as someone who's only writing background prior to publishing was fanfic this makes me feel things)
