Mother a second time

To be pregnant could be different depend of the Country where you’re live. Common people like my Mom would think is the same but the true is that health system is distinct. 

Actually, I am now 7 months pregnant. Symptoms of pregnancy has been the same as my first one... Breast change, morning sickness, mood swings, headache, dizziness, cravings and I can’t forget that I have been gaining too much weight... people said no worries about that, you have excuse to be weight, that doesn’t true, you don’t have to eat for two, or until you feel feel just for yourself. 

Here you have the facility to get a medicine to avoid morning sickness that was a miracle for me. I was denying to have it, but... What do you prefer, throw up, or have a medicine twice a day? I choosed the second one after 3 months and was a blessing. Although you only can see your baby inside your belly twice if you’re lucky, (only one in the majority of cases). You could hear his/her heart each visit to the doctor.

The New Yorker Magazine

I’m very visual, so I got a new subscription of the New York Magazine, because facebook suggest to me one promotion “any plan only $1 a week + tote bag”, So I was really expecting about my tote bag (I have to admit more that the magazine), but it wasn’t came, so I just wrote an email with my concern about that, I hope doesn’t have many mistakes.    

I'm subscribed to The New Yorker, I chose a print + digital plan initially for 12 weeks, the promotion said "Choose any plan. Only $1 a week + a free tote bag" but I didn't get my tote bag yet, so I'm not sure if I have to receive the tote bag with the first magazine or with the last one.

Yesterday I was asking to myself, why I got a subscription of that Magazine if I don’t live there?, a few hours then my husband show me and gave your recommendation about one interesting documentary on Netflix “Abstract: The Art of Design”, so I started to see it and Oh surprise the first episode was about “Christoph Niemman”, that guy is one of the official illustrator of The New York Magazine. I loved the first episode. 

Now I’m pretty sure that I don’t bought the magazine only by the tote bag, I bought them by the charm of the illustrations on their covers.

The Bicycle Thief

I was on my way yesterday walking front the Bicycle Thief restaurant and took the photo below this paragraph. The facade of the restaurant is so nice, and brought to me memories about our first Valentine’s Day, here in Halifax (our new city).

We had 6 months since we came here, San Valentine day was near, and I wanted to do something special in our first Valentine’s Day, so I didn’t know English (now I know a little more), but with my basic level of English I had one goal in my mind, I wanted to have a “Romantic Dinner with my husband” in the restaurant that He wanted to go (We like so much go to the restaurants and eat delicious, all the time we are looking some special place that we can say to our friends “that one is our special place to go”).

I wrote on December:

I want eat with my husband and my daughter in your restaurant, for celebrate valentine day. I'm not sure what date is, do you have reservations for this day, for 2?

The answer was:

Good afternoon Viviana, Thank you for your email. We have reserved a lovely table for two at 9:30 pm on Valentine's Day (Sunday, February 14th). Sincerely Angélica

I wanted keep on me the reservation so, I don't said nothing to my husband, but my surprise was February 5 the day of our anniversary, yes, that morning I was on the kitchen, He called to me, and said Vivi HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, my first reaction was to cry N cry N cry, N think OMG I forget our anniversary, How is that possible if a did reservations to Valentine’s Day and never past to my mind our special day!!!... 

PD: He said to me, no worries, it’s ok, gave to me a hug and kiss. We had many concerns at that time.

Things you do it for the person you love!!!

I’m not a social person, I don’t like interactive with the people, I don’t like to talk if I don’t have nothing to say, I like a quiet environment, I don’t have many friends (I can count them with only one hand and maybe two fingers), I like to be alone... but two year ago I went to this festival, because I want to share with my life partner, the experience to see to Nine Inch Nails and I’ll never forget to be in the first line seeing that American industrial rock band. Started to rain, I had one pizza box in my hands, and everyone was touching me, I was like a sandwich, when the concert had finished my pizza box was wet and obvious the cardboard was disbanded. When the night was finished I only could to say... “That was the best experience ever”... because I'll never forget the expression of happiness he had in his face.

Our First Flat Tire

We have been thinking about the possibility of changing our car.  Why do we want to do this if we have had our car for only 8 months?  Well, we have many reasons to think of this option.  The first one is that the car is not the car that we want; we bought this car because our friends here said that it is better to have a big car than a small car for the snow.  The second reason is that we have discovered small signs of rust and that is not good, so now we want buy a  new car and be sure that for a long time to come  we won't have problems with our car. The point is that we went to Toyota looking for a new and small car, but when we stopped our car in the parking lot, oh, surprise!  Our car had a flat tire.  We crossed the street get storage and the mechanic fixed our car in only five minutes.  In our country  this process takes around 1 hour...

A squirrel stole Emma's sausage.

If your idea for this summer is going camping, please be careful with your food. Our first Canada day here, our first summer in our life, we decided go to our first camping experience, and nobody told us that the squirrels are looking for food in the forest. 

¡¡ Emma was inside the tent and her dad was near to car looking for something (I don’t remember what), Emma started to yell, Mom, Mom, Moooomm... when we went to the tent, Oh Surprise Emma was saying Hello to a Squirrel and the Squirrel was running into the forest with Emma’s sausage in his mouth, after that we saw our faces and couldn’t stop to laughing. !!

Saturday Nigth

We went to the Lebanese festival; the admission was free but if you wanted do it something you needed to buy tickets, so we walked around the place for a few minutes and then we came home.

Now... I have to say:  Is is bedtime ... goodnight.

Emma had a birthday party. It was bad because she was bored. All the kids were around 6 or 7 years old, she is only three years old.

Saturday Morning...

I did make a special breakfast "baskets with ham and eggs"

Put into each muffin cup one ham slice, one egg and sprinkled with salt,pepper and Parmesan cheese.

Slide the muffin tin into the oven and bake until the eggs are done to your liking.

I spent more time in the kitchen than they did gobbling down their breakfast.

Going to meetings with people who want change translate Spanish into to English.

Going to  Spanish Conversation Group give (I'll can help to the people hope and May that the people to want help me).

Finding somebody who wants to speak with me on the cell phone (two minutes if ok for me).

Going to the English Conversation Group in the library near my place (Saturdays).

Speaking with the people in the street "Only Because".

Read and apply the English expressions - The people here love that -.

Call Emma's teacher 5 minutes before picking her up to her and asking what happened during the day, then when I see her repeat the conversation until can understand everything.
