If life ever goes back to normal, I'd like to sell some yarn from our sheep.  I was thinking of using this little sketch of Blue as a logo.  As for the cutie mark, yes, he actually has that spot and it is shaped like a heart.

Screaming into the Void

I doubt anyone will care, but here goes.  Not only am I ashamed to be out of work and living with my parents again at my age(global pandemic, I know), but I’ve fallen into the role of caretaker of absolutely every animal on the farm AND my mother, who is sick *and* injured to the point she didn’t even feel up to driving today. Now, I don’t mind taking care of the animals.  I like taking care of the animals.  I don’t mind looking after my mother.  But I am a little pissed that I get zero recognition for the workload I’ve taken on, and just hear what a selfish bitch I am all the time. 

They don’t actually used the words ‘selfish bitch’, that’s my own self-revulsion speaking.  But, caring for the farm night and day gets zero reaction.  Caring for my mother gets zero reaction.  But taking a shower before my stepfather even though he expressed no intention of taking one?!  I really need to think of others before myself!  

I just . . .  I just want to hear a few words of appreciation, but apparently that’s way too much to fucking ask. I just need to become a mail order bride for a sheep farmer on the opposite side of the planet. That sounds like a plan.

Inspired by Rapunsmurf, from the Smurf Village game.  I *looooooooove* uber-long haired characters, so I had to do some fanart.  You can’t really see what she’s wearing in the game because of the way her hair drapes, so I gave her a dress I thought felt sufficiently princess-y.  But going by the look on her face, I don’t think she can swim.  Or at least wasn’t planning on a dip.

Fun little thing about medieval medicine.

So there’s this old German remedy for getting rid of boils. A mix of eggshells, egg whites, and sulfur rubbed into the boil while reciting the incantation and saying five Paternosters. And according to my prof’s friend (a doctor), it’s all very sensible. The eggshells abrade the skin so the sulfur can sink in and fry the boil. The egg white forms a flexible protective barrier. The incantation and prayers are important because you need to rub it in for a certain amount of time.

It’s easy to take the magic words as superstition, but they’re important.

The next person who tries to correct me when I say “Happy Holidays” is going to be told Happy Hanukkah instead. Very tired of hearing, “No, it’s MERRY CHRISTMAS.” I’m pretty sure Judaism was around a lot longer than your Buckstar’s boycotting butt, Karen.
