If you're getting all your information about the current war from Thai websites, Khmer websites, including Thai websites translated into English, including Khmer websites translated into English, or foreign websites from countries that are only allies of one side and/or only have one consultant from one side --- then you're getting biased information. That's just how it is. A lot has been said about both sides so far. There's a lot of unconfirmed rumors that people are accepting as absolute truth because it was presented to them with a bias. This is happening everywhere: Thailand, Cambodia, and the west.

Be suspicious of everything you hear in the early stages of the war. I'm not saying ignore the news (cause right now biased heat-of-the-moment websites are the only ones currently providing information); I'm just saying be suspicious.

not only is the face scan on discord stupid bc it thinks people over 13+ look like they're under 13, it also thinks people under 13 look like they're over 13. I don't think it's even physically possible to build an accurate facial scanner because everyone looks so different at different ages. There's no "one size fits all" age related features.

I've known 10 year olds with mustaches, 11 year olds that are taller than me, and 8 year olds with very large statures you'd swear they were in the high school football team.

Also, is it just me or has anyone noticed age tends to look really different for people based on their race, ethnicity, weight, physical disability, etc? I think a lot of young black kids get mistaken for being older while white/east asians get mistaken for being younger. fat people generally get mistaken for being older while skinny for being younger. depending on the disability, they get mistaken for older or younger (I think physical changes to the face usually get mistaken for older, as well as wheelchair users, any kind of mobility aid users etc)

Tldr: facial age recognition technology is impossible to create, especially because I doubt it even tries to use a diverse dataset (although even if it did, it'd still likely be inaccurate), and you should never trust anything that says it uses it.

what pisses me off most about the Cambodia/Thai thing is that Cambodia had a solid fucking case and the government ruined it by launching an attack on civilians.

They went to ICJ, pointed out that Thailand was trying to take over land that was within Cambodia's borders, and the ICJ confirmed yep - it was trying to take over land within Cambodia's borders.

If it didn't attack, the world would've seen Thailand trying to take over land that isn't theirs. Instead, it saw Cambodia attacking civilians. I'm so fucking pissed that the government ruined the image of Cambodians and now the west thinks it's just a country full of filthy vengeful war-hungry cry baby scammers.

Like fuck the government, seriously. I'm so sorry to all the poor lives lost. I'm sorry to the 12 Thai civilians --- none of them deserved what happened.

This whole thing is just fucked.

Thailand needs stop trying to steal Cambodian land and Cambodia shouldve only fired at the Thai military.

just a reminder that today was not the *beginning* of the Thai-Cambodian conflict. Today, it just escalated. Devestatingly. But this conflict has existed for decades. It started to look like a war was approaching about a month ago when a Cambodian soldier was killed. Buzz was all over the southeast Asian side of the internet but I don't think it ever reached the west. Now multiple Thai people have been killed.

All of this is terrible. I'm scared shitless to be living here rn.

During the 70s, Cambodians went to refugee camps in Thailand to escape the deadly regime in their country. But then the Thai government didn't want them there so they forced them back to Cambodia. But the place they forced them to was PREAH VIHEAR. Also they killed them and made them walk through landmine infested fields on purpose.

I have a lot of ideas for this because I'm super into alternate timelines/universes for MHA (It's the Homestuck in me)

1. If the alternate self is from a universe where Mineta is cooler and stronger (like everything he wants to be), he would feel ecstatic and possibly 100% have a huge crush on him.

2. If the alternate self was more pathetic (or reminds him of how he acted in season 1 before his character development), then he would hate him. More accurately, he would be reminded of how much he hates himself. It's very angsty and self loathing. Maybe he'd help him or bitch slap himself? Not really sure how it'd play out but it'd make for a cool fic.

3. If the alternate self was the same as how he is in the more recent seasons/after the 8 year timeskip, they would become best bros. They'd probably make ironic jokes like "haha if we fucked would that be masturbation" but they don't have a deep romantic relationship. (They would totally give each other bro handjobs and say #no homo tho.) I headcanon both Minetas as ppl who deny their pansexuality and are fully convinced they're straight lmao
