Tragedies Pt. 3

David’s knees buckled and he hit the ground. His hands started sweating, heart racing, and he couldn’t catch his breath. The nurse tried to tell him something but he was so out of it he couldn’t hear her. In the background , Zane was calling everyone he knew to get there asap.  David finally snapped out of it once he heard the intercom come on and the words ‘ Code Blue’ repeat . It was a code for y/n’s room. 

David fumbled to get to his feet and ran down the crowded hall to get to Y/n's room. He was distraught at the sight of 8 nurses rushing around Y/n's lifeless body. One was doing CPR on her while another pumped air into her body. The nurse kept adding drug after drug to her iv in hopes of getting her back.

'Please don't let her go! Please !' David was pleading with God to let his fiance live. He would do anything to get her back alive. However all he could do is watch the team work on her. His eyes were full of tear, face was blotchy, and he was gripping Zane's hand to the point of crushing it.

He watched as the doctor brought the paddles out and put them on y/n's chest and shock her over and over. Finally, they got a rythm. A collective sigh of relief radiated from the room. The nurses watched hopeful as her heartbeat got stronger and didn't falter.

One by one the nurses left , except for the one who was y/n's own nurse. She glanced out the door and saw David sitting in the floor with his hands pressed against the window. He was in shock and couldn't believe they had gotten her back.

She beckoned him to come inside. He walked in unsure of what he would find. She laid there pale and disheveled. Her hair was strewn all over, her eyes had rings around them. Her face had cuts and bruises. His heart ached at the sight of her hurt.

David knew that it was his fault that she was laying here almost dying, with a tube down her throat breathing for her. He knew that if he hadn't had cheated they would have been at home cuddling together, but now here they were.

Unexpected - d.d x n.m

**6 months ago **

"Hey David, can I talk to you a sec?" Natalie was standing in the doorway of his room watching him edit laying down in bed.

"Yeah ,come in" , He raised up and put his laptop down.

Walking over to his bed , she was unsure how to bring this up as she didn't want to blame his fans for the discomfort she felt by them assuming things. Ever since David and Liza announced that they had broken up the focus had shifted to if David and Natalie are dating.

"I ,uh , have been getting a ton of comments on my instagram asking if we are dating. You need to set the record straight because I don't see you that way, David."

David seeing his best friend come to his room and tell him that this was bothering her was huge because she never expressed her concerns unless they actually bothered her. "Yeah I'll tell them to stop."

"Thanks David. You're a good friend. " she gave him a small smile and the subject was dropped.

2 months later

David was sitting on his couch facing Josh and Natalie was on the other side of Josh.

"One of the biggest comments I always see is that people think Natalie and I are dating" David pointed the camera at Josh.

"Yes" Josh agreed.

"We're not!" David exclaimed

"Okay" Josh laughed in disbelief

"I'm being dead ass" He insisted which made Josh not believe him.

"Same here... Lying fun sometimes" He raised his hand for a high five.

**3 months later**

David was laying on his back on the couch scrolling through YouTube comments.

'Guys they are totally dating!

'I wish someone looked at me the way David looks at Natalie '

'David and Natalie are hella cute together!"

As he read each one he felt a warm feeling in his stomach at the though of him and Natalie dating. He thought of all the times he told people that they weren't dating and how he would feel a tiny bit of sadness deep down. He remember the times that Natalie was always there for him and how she took care of him when him and Liza broke up.

He decided to just push all his feelings down and compartmentalize the thoughts because there was no possible way she'd date him.

**1 month later**

Natalie was in her room late at night thinking about all the rumors and how she wasn't getting upset with them anymore. She realized that she was actually feeling a bit disappointed that they weren't dating. She thought about one of the rare times David wasn't busy and they were sitting on the couch watching movies and how when she was cold, he pulled her into a side hug and wrapped a blanket around the both of them. Then she remembered when he would bring home a dozen of her favorite flowers and told her how great of an assistant she was .

"Maybe I'm just seeing things " she muttered out loud to the empty room. Sighing she turned over and turned out the light going to bed.

**A month Later**

After a month of Natalie thinking that she was seeing signs of David possibly liking her she knew she had to confront him. Getting up off the couch she decided to check his room. Seeing the door was open she walked in and walked over to him.

"David I need to tell you something. "

"I'm all ears, Nat." He put a reassuring smile on.

"Those ,uh , comments we keep getting about us dating ,I can't take it anymore." She paused trying to find the courage to go on.

"What do you mean ?" He was confused now .

"Don't you see it David?! I like you and the comments are making me sad and miserable because you don't like me like that!" She was breathless after that confession.

David was stunned that she liked him and didn't say anything back. Seeing that he wasn't saying anything, Natalie turned on her heel and started walking away .

David scrambled of the bed and caught her by the arm " Wait!"

"What David?" She had tears in her eyes and just wanted to go back to her roo..

"I like you too. I just never said anything because I thought you didn't like me that way either." He confessed to her and held both of her hands in his.

Looking up into his eyes , she could see that he was telling the truth . "What do you want to do now?"

"We could date. Do you want to be my girlfriend?" He questioned.

Nodding her head up and down she threw herself into his arms.

"Yes."

"Holy shit, David is gonna love the dress"

Y/n was wearing an ivory high necked A-line dress. The top of the dress was lace with full length sleeves. The back of the dress had pearl buttons extending from the neck line to the waistline. The bottom of the dress was an ivory chiffon and her train was a sweep style.

Y/n had brought her 2 best friends from her hometown and brought Natalie, Carly, and Erin to try on wedding dresses.Her and David had been together for 2.5 years before he finally asked her to be his wife.

As she stood on the pedestal, she soaked in the view of her in the dress and just fell in love with it. She knew that the girls weren't lying when she walked out of the dressing room.

Erin walked over to the accessories wall and picked out a gorgeous elbow length veil. She brought it over to the pedestal and Y/n leaned back while Erin clipped the veil into her hair.

Y/n pulled the sides of the veil to frame her face and glanced at her reflection. Tears welled up in her eyes as she realized that this was her dream dress and that she would be marrying the love of her life.

"This is it." She was confident and in awe of her choice "This is the dress I'm marrying David in. "

"I'm saying yes to the dress!"

Resting his shoulder against the door frame of the bathroom , David watched as a groggy Natalie reached blindly across the soft white sheets searching for him. He watched her eyebrows furl and her lips frown as she ran her palm across the sheets finding nothing but a pillow. She pulled the pillow close to her chest, wrapping her arms around it and cracked her eyelids open to find David staring at her.

“What are you looking at?” She mumbled while stretching her stiff body.

“I’m just wondering how you look so beautiful just waking up.” David walked the short distance to the bed, climbed in and pulled her into his arms with her head resting on his chest.

"I look gross", she giggled into his chest and looked up into his eyes " but thank you for the compliment."

She laid her head back down and the two laid there quietly just enjoying each other's company.

"Shouldn't you be editing your vlog?" Natalie secretly hoped that he wouldn't edit it for a couple more hours.

"I'll do it later. I just wanna spend some time with my girl" he kissed her forehead and lightly ran his fingers up and down her back .
