Reading my own fanfiction is basically just a rollercoaster of emotional whiplash.
20% of the time: “Hold on. I wrote this? This is fire. This is emotionally devastating in the best way. This scene is dripping with tension. I’m a literary perfectionist. Someone give me a book deal.”
80% of the time: “Straight to jail. Immediate prison. Why is everyone’s breath hitching?. I used the word ‘gaze’ three times in one paragraph like I was possessed. Did I think 'his eyes darkened' was profound? Why is everyone clenching their jaws? Why is someone whispering 'their name like a prayer' again?? No one talks like this. What is this dialogue. Why are there so many weird metaphors and em-dashes…”

Pretty much, yeah.
it is honestly amazing how much of writing and editing is just. logistics. like... do i use a name here or a pronoun? if i move this dialogue tag to the middle of this line and break it in half, does the end of the line hit harder that way? what if i move the tag to the front? what if i remove it entirely? ...wait, whose point of view am i in; can i reasonably say this character is appalled, or must i say they look or seem or sound appalled? is this a deliberate action or a step-removed one; is her hand closing on his shoulder, or is she closing her hand on his shoulder? environment environment environment, we need to break all this dialogue up with some narration, the scene is coming untethered. what! are! they doing! with! the rest of their bodies that are not hands! fuck fuck fuck FUCK i forgot we covered this two chapters ago and now i either need to cut this whole chunk or find a reason to reprise the conversation from earlier. name or pronoun? name or pronoun? name or pronoun? move this clause around in this sentence? oh i'll add this phrase-- nope, never mind, past!me added the same phrase two lines down. okay, if i add too much environmental narration it's going to take away from this bit, but not enough and it won't feel grounded. what if i move this to its own line? where the FUCK are their hands?

Random story idea.
The year is 1974, Randy Johnson is a television psychic who makes a living as a "consultant and spiritual medium" excorsizing ghosts, contacting deceased loved ones, that kind of thing. This is, of course, all a scam but a well crafted one. That is until he's publicly exposed by his co-star Andrew Philian, who served as his show's skeptic, after he was fired over a petty dispute.
Randy's whole life comes crashing down, abandoned by friends, family and fans alike, leading to attempting to take his own life. He survives, but in the attempt he truly crossed to the other side for but a moment and when he comes back he has real psychic abilities. Before he can even start planning his comeback, he's contacted by a spirit, who gives him an offer. He will be allowed to keep these powers for the rest of his days, but in exchange he has to use them to help 100 different apirits pass on to the after life, and he has to do it in exactly 1 year.

Hello
Today I'm posting a fast sketch of my drawing, the character is Himura Kenshin from Samurai X. In this drawing Himura still becomes Hitokiri Battousai.
Ok that's all, thanks. If the art is done, I will post the full picture.
