Pronouns She/Her/Hey/You Getting older slowly (1960's), born odd, and didn't fit in as a young child. Kept my feelings quiet as a child for fear of being sent to an asylum or a prison. I Later found out it is called trans and that I wasn't the only person on the planet like me. And that was long before the internet. So I still had no one to talk to about trans. Society thought it was a medical condition. I thought society had the condition and not me and that was my dysphoria, my non conformity. Fighting the stupid bigotry in society to make a little space for me to be myself and also to enjoy all parts of life and not focus only on trans (and for others to have that freedom too).

Maybe an indication of the continuing impoverishment of the middle classes. The guardianistas can no longer afford their old haunts.
Like the history of Blackpool in reverse.
"...beyond the full English breakfasts and pub crawls, there’s an authentic Spanish side to it"
Oh god they've discovered Benidorm. It's about to be gentrified by guardianistas. Go before they ruin it.

It would be wonderful in an ideal world if the diagnoses of autism, trans and homosexuality would be performed in parallel. But we are talking UK and NHS. If the autism is checked first and that could last, ooh, well a long long waiting time in the UK, then the NHS won't begin looking at a possible transgender diagnosis for a long time. Meanwhile kids don't get the counselling they need. And that is in the best of worlds where the NHS can support kids. With the current political situation, it is most likely that politicians and their lobbyists will try to make any support more difficult.
Saw this on Reddit today. Things just keep getting worse.

I wish societies would get this message for trans people instead of trying to ban or convert them.

The US debt under Trump has now risen so high that the US is now paying more in interest than on its military. A crash is coming.

The US military budget is larger than the military spending of the next nine largest countries combined. We're pumping huge amounts of money to the defense industry as Republicans plan devastating cuts to the social safety net through their budget bill. It does not have to be this way. This is all a policy choice.

When trump pulled out of the Iran agreement in his first period, the EU tried to hold the fort politically (and failed) and Iran announced it would be building more centrifuges. It also put more effort into developing missile technology (not banned.)
And Kamala Harris might have acted differently (@flowerlygirls.) Now we will never know, because the US wanted a bible selling anti woke white bloke and got him.
The big question now is where to dispose of all the radioactive rubble ? Straits of Hormuz ?

Five months into Trump's presidency, and we are in a war.
Did his supporters have that on the bingo card?

This post is blatantly giving people ideas that they may not have had.
Leading to the unfortunate mistake of towing away vehicles.

>>> ‘The word children is misleading’ proceeds to describe children
The point is that the word children includes every age from 0 to 20, depending where you live.
The same point applies to those posts that lie that children are forced into surgery.
The older they get, the better children's ability to inform adults about how they feel and what they want. Since you like extremes, no one under twenty should be able to drink alcohol, drive a vehicle, vote, join the army or the clergy or go on the pill ? At what age would you say "children" are able to begin to talk about their identity and or their sexuality ?
Lumping all ages together as "children" may be a comment catcher for posts but does it really help any one ?
>>> "Adults can do what they want" is also unfortunate - not from your posts but from enough others online who actively want to restrict treatment and support for adults too.

I watched the leap between buildings over and over. No stunting, just real and unbelievably dangerous.
This Day in Buster - June 15, 1924 The Richmond Times Dispatch prints a review of "Three Ages," saying, "Keaton leaps lightly over the centuries. In each age the dominant note is comedy. 'Three Ages' is said to be the funniest picture Keaton has ever made, and in addition is a great departure from the beaten track of screen stories."

There are still a few behavioural characteristics like shooting people in the head on the street which ICE haven't learnt yet. But it is a useful way to go: compare behaviours and look for clusters in the results.
Is ICE like the Gestapo?

The use of the word children is misleading, they are just before puberty through teenage and into adulthood.
Why do gender critical feminists believe they have the right to decide over the lives of others ? Your beliefs are socially conservative and authoritarian and you are not saving anyone with this activism.
Since gender critical feminists believe that trans doesn't exist, a conversation about better counselling isn't possible at this time.

So, yes, I don't think hyper-validation is good for anyone, anytime.
By punching bags I mean that the person discussed isn't a part of the conversation. He/she just gets used.
I made a mistake with one of the links, a religious post got deleted. The reason for posting was to demonstrate that your statement that people were becoming a punching bag but not for the radfems was incorrect. There are plenty of rad fem posts using and sometimes amplifying stories about trans people.
I don't think arguments cancel out because that's like saying "please don't hurt me" and "I am going to hurt you" cancel each other out. They don't. Gender critical ideology has at its core the idea that trans people don't exist / don't know what they want / are ill and need treatment. It is conservative authoritarianism driving out a section of society.
The 2 posts from women who detransed are valuable for their experiences. But they are not and may never be a blueprint for gender critical people to use to say other people should detrans too.
My view in a nutshell ? you have to trust people to know what they want and support them to get there. If they are unsure, give them time. If they change their goal, support that too. And that logic is not only about trans. It is about treating others with respect in life and never thinking you know what is best for them.
Activists including gender critical activists believe they are superior to everyone else, that they know what is best for trans people and are willing to campaign to force their view onto others. At best it is a kind of arrogance and more often bigotry.
Some trans people talk about detrans people the way heterosexual men talk about gay men. Like the very existence of the latter threatens to reveal some deep insecurity about their own identity and ideology in the former
