ayato's always in harm's way, being the head of the kamisato clan comes with its risks and he's always been well aware of that. he's very careful with how he travels, at least within inazuma. the head of the clan believes that other nations wouldn't care too much for his status. or at least, that was the impression he had gotten from his first few visits abroad.

ayato wasn't reckless at all, he had his dear sister to live for, not wanting her to be burdened with duty should something happen to him, and yet he seemed to have underestimated how low some treasure hoarders will stoop once offered enough mora.

the tall man had arrived in liyue for a meeting with miss ningguang, and took the opportunity to stay a few extra days, having overheard ayaka mention a local liyue flower that she loved. he was determined to gather a few and commission garments to be made of them to take home. he knew liyue was different from inazuma, even so ayato was still a bit surprised to see a young girl out picking herbs.. at night.. alone..? in these parts? he frowned a bit, but kept his distance, unsure if he should be worried to begin with.

although that thought was quickly dismissed when he saw a strange creature in the distance, seemingly approaching the child, and fast. well, just because she can be alone doesn't guarantee that she can protect herself right? he pushed away his confusion on the situation and quickly made his way behind her, his blade clashing against the axe the creature wielded.

while his combat skills were well above average, when adding in the concern for a small child who doesn't seem to understand the concept of danger, ayato admittedly lacked some skill. his mind preoccupied with questions on the strange girl who seemed unfazed by the entire situation.

too distracted to admit, things soon went black in his vision. once he opened his eyes again, the man found himself laid on a small mattress, glancing around the room that was mostly empty, with the exception of a counter full of medical supplies and the small window above his headboard.

ayato slowly sat up, expecting some pain only to be met with none. he glanced around the room, eyeing the door as it slowly creaked open. the young girl from before walking in with a taller man following behind her and well..

ayato felt as though his world froze. to put it simply the man was easily the most beautiful he'd seen his whole life. and ayato simply did not know what to do besides stare, following the man with his eyes as he approached him and sat by his bed.

"good morning" ayato swore he was melting. forget (but don't) his appearance, even his voice was so smooth and relaxing. he felt as though he could listen forever despite having heard him speak no more than two short words. ayato nodded, offering a small smile "good morning..." his voice trailed off.

"baizhu" the man returned his smile "i am doctor baizhu, owner of bubu pharmacy. dear qiqi here explained the situation to me" he looked down at the young girl who seemed to be zoning off again. "i thank you for protecting her, she is quite forgetful, and likely wouldn't have stood much of a chance against those creatures on her own"

ayato blinked, nodding again, it felt as though he couldn't speak much. but he still did his best "yes.. of course" he felt a strange aura from the girl, ignoring it as baizhu was clearly comfortable with her. "i'm ayato. kamisato ayato" he introduced himself shortly, unsure if adding his status was even important to this man.

"good to meet you sir ayato, your injuries were pretty mild. nothing a bit of medicine couldn't help with. though i do suggest you watch your head a bit more, while this hit wasn't too direct, should you be injured again in the same area, or even the surrounding area, it could lead to serious trouble" baizhu explained the situation to him calmly, his voice filling ayato with a strange feeling in his stomach.

all he could find in himself to do was nod, and accept the doctor's instructions. once he found himself stable enough to leave the pharmacy, he began returning to where he was staying for the week, already wondering how he could possibly even start to try and get the doctor's attention. he was clearly a busy man.
