Luna Coven Drama Track 1 - There Can Be No Light Without Shadow
Pt. 1
— Shrine Grounds, Wakayama Division —
[The late morning sun streamed through the tall cedar and old pine trees, creating a play of light on the moss-covered stones of the shrine. A sense of tranquility filled the air, accompanied by the soft sound of temple bells ringing faintly in the distance. Kurai found himself at the center of the shrine. Before him lay his ceremonial tools: a small bowl filled with pristine water, delicate incense sticks already burning and releasing fragrant smoke, and a ritual knife adorned with mysterious symbols.]
Kurai: *Bent low, his voice measured* By the light above and the wisdom below, I cast away this unclean presence…
[While he meticulously inscribed symbols on the stone ground, an aged priest from the nearby temple strolled past. He stopped, resting on his wooden cane, his gaze revealing a lifetime of serene commitment.]
Priest Matsuda[1]: Master Kurai, does the disturbance ease? I sensed a dark ripple near the eastern gate.
Kurai: *In a calm, measured tone* It has begun to ebb, Father Matsuda. But darker tides are never far. One must remain watchful.
Priest Matsuda: *Bows in respect* Your rituals steady the balance, as always. Yet even the smallest shadow can bear great portent.
[Kurai nodded with a serious expression, his attention steadfast. The chants increased in rhythm as he scattered the blessed water over the symbols. With a deliberate air of concentration, he raised the ceremonial blade.]
Kurai: May balance be restored. May this lingering darkness disperse into nothingness.
[A soft, sorrowful groan, barely audible, emanated from afar as the wandering spirit flickered in the holy light. The darkness gradually disintegrated, its essence vanishing like an unpleasant recollection in the dawn's embrace. A subtle sound of agreement floated from the assembled clergy, while a mild gust whisked away the final remnants of the sinister energy. As the congregation began to disperse, the priest gently patted Kurai on the shoulder.]
Priest Matsuda: Your faith steadies us, Master Kurai. The shrine is safe, once more.
Kurai: *With a respectful nod* The balance remains, but vigilance is its eternal companion.
[With that, the Onmyōji withdrew, the remnants of his chants hanging in the atmosphere like a blessing over the timeworn stones and hidden mysteries of the shrine.]
— Izanami's Infusions, Wakayama Division —
[In a dimly lit chamber, softly illuminated by the flickering light of lanterns and gentle candle flames, a workshop buzzed with intent focus. Shelves were laden with hefty bundles of dried botanicals, old manuscripts, and countless glass containers brimming with potions that glimmered with an otherworldly glow. At a wooden counter in a back room, Kikyo leaned over an altar that had been her crafting space for many seasons. On this particular day, she was concocting a sophisticated brew, a mixture of sharp roots and unique blossoms designed to turn suffering into resilience. The woman in question was grinding up ingredients in a mortar, well worn by time.]
Kikyo: *Softly* Every potion holds a memory. Each elixir carries the weight of sorrow, transmuted by our own resolve.
[She repeated this mantra to herself every time she finished a tonic, as it was something she heard her elder sister say to herself all the time. It had been a long time since the witch heard her sibling's voice, yet the lessons she imbued in her were always with her, even now, many years later. She still missed her, but she could still feel her spirit, along with her mother, with her. Each of their beings were in each potion Kikyo crafted and sold.]
[As Kikyo finished up the process, a customer, an elderly woman with wary eyes, waited patiently in the waiting room. Walking from her lab, the customer's eyes looked up with relief as the witch reemerged from the back room. She silently laid a dark blue tonic inside a clear glass bottle on the counter in front of the woman, who looked at it with a cautious eye.]
Elderly Woman: Kikyo-sama, this... tonic will truly help soothe the pain of loss?
[Though the woman's question had no hidden meaning or intent behind it, it still caused Kikyo to grimace. Not because she was doubting her work, but because her question caused the witch to recall certain memories that she did not want to recall right now. Mentally calming herself, she looked at the woman with a face that masked her inner torment.]
Kikyo: *With measured politeness* It cannot erase the past, madam, but it may lend you the fortitude to face tomorrow’s sun.
[Opening her mouth, the woman saw the wisdom in the witch's words and slowly closed it. Giving a nod, she gave the witch a sad smile and silently laid some money on the counter before walking to the entrance. She turned to give the witch one last nod before she departed. Kikyo silently watched her leave, hoping the tonic she crafted would help to alleviate her pain, whatever it was.]
[With that, the proprietor shifted her focus back to her intricate task. Her gaze landed on an old family photograph hidden on a shelf, an image from a time when joy and affection were abundant rather than mere distant memories. Waves of nostalgia surged within her unexpectedly.]
Kikyo: This work serves as both a comfort and a weapon, healing past hurts while simultaneously reopening them. I need to express my sorrow with great care, as any misstep could bring about disaster.
[As she turned to return to her back room, a knock on the front door of the shop stopped her. Turning, she looked it was a young, scrawny man, a frequent customer of hers who constantly sought her remedies.]
Young Man: Kikyo-sama, I...
Kikyo: *Holds up her hand, stopping him* Yes, the tincture for a broken heart. *Points to a chair in the corner* Wait there. It should be ready shortly.
[Obeying, the man sat down as the woman walked to the back room. As she delicately sprinkled a hint of powdered midnight iris into the bubbling pot, the room was infused with scents of soil and age-old healing. The soft bubbling of a kettle alongside the warm exchange of voices blended harmoniously with the occasional clatter of glass meeting wood. Yet, beneath this serene atmosphere, an undeniable tension accompanied each of her actions, a reflection of the inner struggles woven into her precise artistry.]
— Academy Classroom, Wakayama Division —
[Golden rays of sunlight poured through the lofty, arched windows of the academy’s classroom, casting a warm glow over the neat rows of desks, sharply contrasting with the cold air surrounding one desk in particular. Rin occupied her usual spot by the window, her eyes fixed on the bustling world outside as her pencil moved reflexively across the paper. While her classmates engaged in lively conversations, their cheerful chatter faded into the background, lost in the quiet realm of her own thoughts.]
Student 1: *Nudges her friend, whispering* There's that weird, ghost girl, like a shadow in a crowd. I swear, you'd think she's invisible.
Student 2: *Scoffs* Or maybe she's just empty inside.
Student 3: *Half-mocking, half-sympathetic* I wonder if she even knows we exist.
Student 2: *Scoffs again* I doubt it. You ever seen her talk with anyone? All she does is just stare out the window, looking at nothing.
Student 1: Does the teacher ever even call on her anymore?
Student 3: Not since she just stared at him, which literally made him crap his pants.
Student 2: Oh my gosh! I remember that!
[As the girls were ready to begin another conversation, the teacher soon strode to the front of the class, his voice firm as he commanded attention.]
Teacher: Settle down, everyone. Today we begin with the math assignment. Open your books to page 47.
[As the soft sound of turning pages broke the momentary stillness, Rin's gaze drifted out the window, her eyes seemingly gathering the fleeting images of drifting clouds instead of the text in front of her. While her classmates exchanged discreet looks and laughter echoed between lessons, she immersed herself in distant recollections, attempting to grasp fragments of something that could shed light on her persistent sense of disconnection.]
[A student seated close by, feeling a surge of playful audacity, discreetly pushed a wrinkled piece of paper across her desk, causing Rin to look at it.]
Classmate: *Muttering* Hey ghost, why not join us for a bit of fun?
[As Rin stared at the words, her expression was still blank and empty. Picking it up, she softly set it aside, going back to staring outside the window, lost in thoughts that others may deem unimportant.]
[As the instructor scribbled on the board and selected students at random to answer problems, Rin's pencil glided across the paper with a steady rhythm, a subtle demonstration of her determination. The routine of the day enveloped her like a well-loved blanket: recognizable, relentless, and strangely reassuring in its predictability.]
— Amamiya Residence, Wakayama Division —
[The clocks within the family residence ticked away steadily, providing a comforting rhythm, a subtle contrast to the tempest outside. The aroma of incense, dried flowers, and a faint trace of herbal remedies vibrated throughout the air, a testament to the haven that the family had cultivated throughout the years. Though their reputation wasn't all that great, there was no denying that the family had etched out both a life and home in this strange city that was known as Wakayama.]
[Soft light spilled over polished wooden floors and age-worn furnishings as Kikyo returned from a day of toil. She was looking forward to resting her mind. She didn't know what it was about today, but it was a lot more tiring than usual. Perhaps the strain of dealing with customers, most of whom were all looking for the same thing, something related to heartache, was starting to wear on her.]
Kikyo: *Sighing, rubbing her head* I need to do better with controlling my emotions and thoughts. My mother and sister would no doubt lecture me if they both saw me now.
[She was no doubt looking forward to resting for a bit before she had to prepare for supper for her family. Perhaps she could cancel her tutoring session with Rin for today. She would make up for it another day. ...Yes, that sounded like a good idea. Rubbing her forehead once more, she sighed as stepped onto the porch to her home.]
[...Yet, that sigh was cut short as her instincts kicked in. The moment she stepped onto her porch, she sensed… an oddity. An unfamiliar presence, faint yet unmistakably unwelcome. The air, usually filled with the gentle hum of comfort, now held something different. Something strange.]
Kikyo: *Eyes narrowed* ...Someone dares intrude upon my sanctuary?
[She moved cautiously as she turned the key in the lock, her eyes darting around the living room, the first room spotted upon entering the house. Everything appeared to be in its proper place, yet an unsettling sensation lingered. It wrapped around the periphery of the area, swirling like wisps of smoke hiding in the shadows.]
[Then... she spotted it. A sizable parcel rested prominently in the middle of the living room, intentionally positioned on the kitchen table, a shiny silver briefcase, gleaming and flawless, except for the logo stamped onto its exterior.]
Kikyo: *In shock* Chuohku...
[In this day and age, it was impossible to not hear of the Japanese government, also known as the Party of Words. Kikyo, for the most part, had managed to avoid their eye, though they certainly didn't make it easy. Their influence was everywhere, as if they were a bad wind that swept through everywhere, causing bad omens to rise and stay, as if demons had found a permeant residence.]
[Kikyo felt her heart race. She moved closer, carefully and purposefully, as if getting near something dangerous. Her fingertips brushed against the hard surface of the case, following its icy contours. This wasn't meant to be in her space. She was sure of it; someone had invaded her sanctuary. Someone had abandoned this mysterious offering.]
Kikyo: *Under her breath, a mixture of irritation and dread* What misfortune is this… Now, as if my sanctuary were not already under siege by fate.
[Her jaw clenched, a surge of fury simmering just beneath her calm exterior. With a swift motion, she ripped open the sealed envelope that lay on top of the case. Her gaze darted over the contents, absorbing the weight of the message as if it were a dagger piercing her heart. The letter slipped from her fingers, gently touching down on the wooden floor.]
[A transformation was imminent. And it didn't seem like anything could stop it...]
To be continued...
Toshiaki Matsuda - An esteemed elder at one of the most respected shrines in Wakayama City. He has been a steadfast protector of harmony for many years. With a wealth of wisdom and keen insight, he has witnessed numerous changes in authority, both from the heavens and among humans. While he seldom takes direct action, his words held significant influence, and his confidence in Kurai was rooted in profound comprehension rather than mere trust.

Kurai - "The Equinox Sage" (Balance Mage)
Quote: "Balance is neither good nor evil; it simply is."
Equilibrium is not simply an option; it is a powerful presence, a fundamental reality, an essential principle of life. This roving sorcerer comprehends this complex truth more deeply than anyone else, yet the realm surrounding him has descended into turmoil due to the unyielding grasp of the Dark Kingdom. Once held in high esteem among his peers, he turned away from the strict doctrines of his kin, embarking on a journey where no deities or tyrants dictate the course of destiny. Now, together with his partner and "spirit guide", he traverses from one town to another, casting spells to restore the fragile thing that is balance...
"Chaos fades away. Order endures. You were just unfortunate enough to be trapped in the middle."
Tumblr media
Kikyo - "The Veiled Symbologist" (Warlock)
Quote: "'Magic exists to serve man?' ...Peh, what utter nonsense."
Human beings are feeble, self-centered beings, often leading to ruin and lacking in respect. This demonic entity realized this truth long ago when her family fell victim to those who regarded alchemy and magic simply as instruments rather than revered arts. Now, she roams as a pariah, the solitary figure brave enough to venture along the forsaken paths where creatures hide and spirits murmur. The Dark Kingdom has offered a substantial bounty on her head for her crimes against humanity. Many have sought to capture her for it. Yet none, but one, have succeeded...
"Intrude upon my domain if you wish. It will be the last mistake you ever make."
Tumblr media
Rin - "The One Who Exists Between Worlds" (Spectral Whisperer)
Quote: "Did... you... hear... that? ...No? ...Then... I... was... never... here."
She holds no memories, not of her arrival into the world, her departure, or why her essence clings to existence. Logically, she shouldn't be here, yet she lingers in a realm that overlooks her presence. She observes the living from the fringes of reality, invisible and silent. Then, one fateful day, someone noticed her, not the terrified townsfolk or the priests eager to banish her spirit, but a mage in pursuit of equilibrium and a witch weighed down by grief. Through their intervention, she dodged the brink of oblivion. Now, she journeys alongside them, searching for clarity, for purpose, for an explanation of her enduring connection to this life. Whether this quest will lead to salvation, chaos, or something entirely unexpected… only time will reveal.
"Even... now... you... won't... remember... me. ...That... is... fine."

His daily routine involves studying heavenly signs, interpreting old manuscripts, and creating charms to uphold the harmony of yin and yang energies. The evenings find him immersed in ceremonies and thoughtful divinations, anticipating the twists and turns of destiny while skillfully redirecting its course when needed. Whether he is expelling harmful spirits, safeguarding Wakayama's hidden thresholds, or assisting lost souls, his thoughts remain in constant motion.

Kikyo is the owner of her establishment, "Izanami's Infusions," where she skillfully crafts potions, elixirs, tonics, and various brews that offer an array of effects. Each morning, she traverses the wild landscapes, gathering unique herbs and blossoms with experienced hands and a determined stare. While her stern attitude may initially intimidate clients, they inevitably come back when health issues arise or when fate seems harsh, because her remedies truly perform wonders. The reasons behind her venture into this line of work remain a mystery, but one thing is clear: she possesses an unparalleled understanding of nature’s power.

Rin attends high school as a first-year student. Enrolled by Kurai and Kikyo, the girl's parents hope that it will help her interact with humans more and help to unravel the mysteries about herself. However, rather than actively participating, Rin finds herself in a role more akin to that of an observer. During lessons, she sits quietly, taking in information without truly interacting, as if she were a mere shadow rather than a part of the vibrant learning atmosphere. While she manages to complete her assignments and maintain satisfactory grades, these achievements feel hollow to her, reduced to mere duties devoid of genuine significance.

Kizuna/Bonds (Luna Coven Ver.)
[Luna Coven:]
Wakayama guys, c'mon, put your hands up
We are the best of friends (Best of friends!)
Wakayama guys, c'mon, put your hands up
This is our bond! (Our bond!)
Wakayama!
Luna Coven!
[Kurai:]
Order and chaos, they continue to wage war
I walk between them, equilibrium in every single step
I am the sage, I stand alone (Kurai!)
We three remain, unchanging even in the storm's depth
[Kikyo:]
A lone soul? That is me (He•ka•te!)
Watch the spells I cast weave tight
Our bond runs deep like the threads of fate
Woven in secrets, untouched by the night
[Rin:]
Words that I whisper slip through the cracks of time
A ghost lost, seeking echoes of feeling
Yet even in silence, they remain by my side
In their presence, Shikigami hopes to find meaning
[Kurai:]
Through life and death, balance will stay intact
[Kikyo:]
Fate twists, yet we will never lose track!
[Rin:]
I can still hear them: voices left unspoken
[Kurai:]
Measured move
[Kikyo:]
Fated course
[Rin:]
Wakayama
[Luna Coven:]
Luna Coven!
[Chorus:]
There's definitely nothing that we can't handle so long as we're with all our friends
There's no division that's more important, my love for it here doesn't end
It's okay to have bad days once in a while, it's something we can amend
We'll overcome whatever comes our way
And then we're gonna shine
[Luna Coven:]
Wakayama guys, c'mon, put your hands up
This is our bond! (Our bond!)

Relationships: Family - Rin Kuroki
Tumblr media
??? - A girl who is older, whose name escapes Rin, yet she feels a deep connection that seems woven into her very being. An unspoken bond forms as Rin rests her head gently on the girl's shoulder, the heaviness of untold memories lingering in the air. Uncertain of the source of her comfort or the reason for this peaceful moment, Rin finds herself unable to capture the answer before the memory fades away. Now, she gazes into the emptiness, questioning whether she was intended to recall this moment or to let it slip from her mind…
??? - This woman... she does not radiate warmth. Her smile... it's all wrong. It masks something cruel beneath its surface. Rin sees a glint of metal in her hand, a needle poised with intent. There is no kindness in her movements, no tenderness in the way she brings it down into Rin's skin. Pain bursts through the fog, forcing Rin awake, leaving her trembling, unsure whether what she saw was real... or just another trick of a past that refuses to be known...
Tumblr media
Kurai Amamiya (30 Years Old) - Rin's adopted father, and the steady hand that refuses to let her drift into nothingness. From the moment he took her in, he has patiently guided her toward fragments of her past, never rushing, never forcing, only offering quiet support. Though she does not fully understand family, she knows that Kurai is different. He calls her his daughter with conviction, never hesitating, never treating her as anything less. He is not just her guardian; he is proof that she is meant to exist, even if she does not yet know why.
Tumblr media
Kikyo Yomogi (??? Years Old) - Rin's adopted mother. To this day, she does not know why Kikyo refused to let her be sent away by Kurai. Though Rin does not remember her past, Kikyo gave her a name, one tied to a sister long lost, ensuring she would not vanish like a forgotten ghost. Kikyo does not demand her daughter's understanding, only her presence. Whether she realizes it or not, Kikyo considers her a daughter, fiercely protective, unwavering in her resolve to ensure she has a future.

Relationships: Family - Kikyo Yomogi
Tumblr media
Tomoe Yomogi † - Kikyo's mother, and a fierce loving woman. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her daughters and the traditions she imparted to them. As their spiritual mentor and guide, she maintained a strict approach during their training, insisting on discipline and accuracy. Her unwavering faith in Hecate influenced every part of her existence, with prayers recited at dawn and dusk without exception. Nevertheless, this devotion also manifested as an unyielding obstinacy; when Rin implored her and their family to escape as fears of witchcraft heightened, she stood firm, convinced that destiny would safeguard them. This choice ultimately led to her demise, as she was burnt alive during the Okinawan Witch Trials, her final moments characterized by remarkable composure, as if she had already come to terms with her destiny.
Rin Yomogi † - Kikyo's older sister, and the very essence of her existence. She was the anchor for Kikyo in moments when uncertainty or setbacks threatened to engulf her. Always calm and supportive, she never allowed her sister's errors to shape her identity, providing solid guidance when the weight of their mother's expectations became too heavy to bear. Kikyo looked up to Rin, convinced that by emulating her, she could finally embrace the witch she was destined to be. However, that aspiration was cruelly dashed when the witch hunts reached their village; Rin suffered the same tragic fate as their mother, perishing in flames at the hands of frightened townsfolk. In her final moments, she made sure Kikyo would live on. And while Kikyo struggles with the sorrow of that loss, she also honors Rin's memory by carrying her name, hoping that somehow, her sister's spirit endures through her daughter.
Tumblr media
Kurai Amamiya (30 Years Old) - Kikyo's husband, and the one who represents the one in her existence who questioned her conviction that humanity was inherently corrupt. Initially, she met him with resistance, hesitant to place her trust in him and convinced he was merely another fleeting presence in her extensive life journey. However, gradually, he began to dismantle her barriers, demonstrating that steadfast patience and unwavering determination can harmoniously coexist with love. Despite having faced centuries of sorrow, Kurai is the sole individual with whom she has ever experienced genuine tranquility, someone who embraces every fractured and rough aspect of her being without any reservations, asking for no alterations in return.
Tumblr media
Rin Kuroki (??? Years Old) - Kikyo's adopted daughter. Initially, she had no plans to raise anyone, but upon encountering this wandering spirit girl, she felt something within her awaken. The girl bore a striking resemblance to her late sister, yet there was an even deeper connection. Kikyo adamantly opposed any attempts by Kurai to separate them, fully aware that losing Rin would feel like reliving the heartache of her sister's absence. While Rin is not merely a stand-in for her sister, Kikyo fiercely protects her, resolved to provide her with opportunities that her sister never experienced, a chance for a brighter future. Unbeknownst to Rin, Kikyo views her as a true daughter, one she will fiercely guard against anyone seeking to take her away.

Relationship: Family - Kurai Amamiya
Tumblr media
Ryuunosuke Amamiya † - Kurai's father, and a respected diplomatic envoy. He skillfully maneuvered through intricate global issues, teaching his children the significance of wisdom, patience, and thoughtful decision-making, principles that ultimately molded Kurai into the astute man he is today. While his profession required delicate negotiations, it also placed him in harm's way. His career took a tragic turn when an assassin was contracted to eliminate him. In his last moments, he bravely defended his family, yet his attempts were futile.
Yuna Amamiya † - The mother of Kurai, she was a distinguished cultural historian and philosopher. With a brilliant mind, she nurtured her children, blending affection with profound understanding. She held the conviction that knowledge was the most powerful tool, making sure her family understood both the physical realm and the invisible forces that influenced it. When peril approached their home, she bravely stepped forward to defend her children. Tragically, like her husband, she lost her life in the battle to keep them safe.
Hiroshi Amamiya † - Kurai's older brother, he had a profound bond with the ocean, dedicating his life to marine research with a focus on conservation. The sea captivated him, seen as both a source of tremendous chaos and a means of rebirth. He exuded a serene strength, serving as a steadfast foundation for his family. In his heroic attempt to shield his younger siblings from an assassin's onslaught, he made the ultimate sacrifice, a loss that continues to haunt Kurai's spirit.
Renji Amamiya † - Kurai's younger brother, and the self-proclaimed "middle child" of the family. Although he cared deeply for his family, he struggled with the burden of being caught between two strong-willed brothers and a doted-on younger sister. Eager to establish his own identity, he explored various paths in search of meaning, but never truly felt at home. Despite his inner conflicts, he never stopped loving his family, and when their lives were threatened, his resolve hardened. Though he fought fiercely, he was ultimately unable to escape the fate that had been forced upon them.
Ayane Amamiya † - Kurai's younger sister, and the only female, aside from her mom. She looked up to her older brothers, but her connection with Kurai was uniquely special; he always made time to engage in play with her, no matter how busy he was. She radiated brightness, warmth, and an insatiable curiosity, representing the untouched innocence that Kurai longed to safeguard in a harsh world. Unfortunately, that innocence could not shield her when disaster struck. She was the youngest to meet her fate, blissfully unaware of the peril that would take her life. Among all the family members he lost, Kurai feels her absence the most profoundly, yearning for the moments when her laughter filled the air once more.
Tumblr media
Kikyo Yomogi (??? Years Old) - Kurai's wife, and the individual who disrupted Kurai's meticulously organized life, leading him to confront feelings and weaknesses he had long suppressed. Their bond did not form instantly, but it was destined to happen, built upon common struggles and a deep, unvoiced connection. Kurai holds great respect for her resilience, her steadfast resistance to destiny, and most importantly, the remarkable ability she possesses to turn his world upside down effortlessly.
Tumblr media
Rin Kuroki (??? Years Old) - Kurai's adopted daughter, and a spirit he never thought he would safeguard, yet now he steadfastly refuses to let her slip away. As she grapples with who she is, he remains a steady presence, helping her piece together the remnants of her history while making sure she discovers significance in her current life. Although she hasn't quite grasped the concept of family as others do, that doesn't concern him. What matters is that she understands she is cherished. Whether she fully comprehends the essence of belonging or not, one thing is clear to Kurai: he takes immense pride in calling her his own.

Luna Coven Team Dynamics
Tumblr media
Although Kurai holds the position of leader within the Luna Coven, he prefers to start off in the back, skillfully managing the team's dynamics from behind the scenes. As the mastermind behind their strategies, he focuses on manipulation rather than outright aggression, twisting the tempo of combat to throw his adversaries off balance. His rap ability disrupts the ebb and flow of battle, posing a challenge for enemies trying to maintain their stride. While he may not present an immediate danger, his power escalates as the conflict continues, making him a target of increasing importance. Taking him out early can severely impact the cohesion of his team.
Regarded by numerous individuals as the most formidable player in the team, Kikyo shines in both attacking and protective roles. Positioned resolutely at the forefront, she inflicts significant harm on her adversaries with piercing, cutting words that slowly diminish their self-assurance. Due to her lyrical prowess and the sway she gathers over time, she should be the primary target for elimination. The longer she remains in the fray, the greater the mental toll she imposes, rendering any chance of recovery almost unattainable.
An anomaly in every sense of the word, Rin is an unpredictable wildcard whose presence unnerves her opponents as she waits in the back row with her father. While she doesn't exhibit the same aggressive tendencies as her mother, her role in support adds an element of unpredictability. She skillfully undermines the coordination of the enemy team, opening up opportunities for her parents to take advantage of. Although she may not hold the same level of importance as her parents within the team, overlooking her can lead to significant consequences, as it prevents adversaries from performing at their peak.
— Kurai
Kikyo to Kurai is the woman he has happily sworn his life to, for good or bad. In her, he discovered a soul who had been burdened by an excess of sorrow and bitterness over the centuries. From their very first encounter, he sensed her duality, both resilient and fractured, having faced trials that would break most people. While their connection didn't spark immediately, it was fated to develop.
As time passed, Kurai began to see beyond her defensive rage and uncovered the essence of the woman within, the survivor who had weathered unimaginable storms, bearing scars that words could hardly convey. When he asked her to marry him, he wasn't expecting her to say yes; his true aim was to show her that she deserved love, companionship, and something beyond a life of unending pain. To his astonishment, she agreed, and in that instant, he realized that everything about his life was about to change.
In Rap Battles, Kurai strives not just to lead his team but also to safeguard Kikyo's sharp precision. He skillfully adjusts the tempo, providing her with optimal openings to unleash her powerful verses, ensuring her lyrical spells strike with maximum impact. If an adversary attempts to overwhelm her, he skillfully disrupts their rhythm before they can gain the upper hand. And should anyone have the audacity to harm her, whether physically or emotionally, he ensures they will never forget the grave error they made.
Rin to Kurai is the young spirit that he is proud to call his daughter, living or not. Initially, he viewed her merely as another wandering spirit, one who needed direction to reach the afterlife and find peace. After taking her under his wing, he still questioned whether he had made the right decision, as she struggled to adapt to the world outside.
Yet, as time passed, he found himself deeply invested in her journey, observing her gradual growth, learning, and attempts to reclaim pieces of her former life. Kurai remains patient with her, never rushing her to comprehend things too swiftly, but rather guiding her gently, one step at a time. Although he recognizes her battles with self-identity and a sense of belonging, he is genuinely proud to call her his daughter, not out of duty, but because he sincerely believes she deserves a place she can truly call home.
In Rap Battles, Kurai acts as Rin's steadfast support, expertly adjusting the rhythm so she can seamlessly integrate her haunting essence into the competition without becoming overwhelmed. He never pushes her into the spotlight, allowing her to operate from the shadows where her strengths shine brightest. And if anyone dares to take advantage of her weaknesses, he ensures that they come to regret it.
— Kikyo
Kurai to Kikyo is more than just her husband. He is the steady force that anchors her to something greater than revenge and isolation. Despite Kikyo's long-standing bitterness towards humanity, he stands as evidence that not everyone is beyond saving. His calm demeanor and inner strength enable her to move forward without being overwhelmed by her past.
Initially, their first encounter was filled with distrust and animosity (especially in Kikyo's part), but over time, that skepticism began to fade. Kurai's gentle persistence, steadfast determination, and his refusal to view her as a monster gradually changed her outlook. The moment he asked her to marry him is forever imprinted in her mind; she still finds it hard to believe that he not only proposed but that she said yes. Yet, she has no regrets about her choice.
In Rap Battles, Kikyo relies on Kurai to guarantee that her strikes hit with pinpoint accuracy. His mastery of the beat creates ideal moments for her to unleash her words, making them resonate with greater intensity. With him fine-tuning the pace, she remains unconcerned about any interruptions to her rhythm. When adversaries attempt to swarm her, she stands firm, thanks to Kurai, who deftly alters the dynamics of the scene, unsettling them before they can close in on her.
Rin to Kikyo is the young spirit girl whom she has lovingly took in as her daughter. Although she never anticipated welcoming a child into her life, especially one who seemingly was not meant to be part of this realm, the moment she laid eyes on Rin, she recognized something profound. She saw an echo of a cherished soul she had lost ages ago.
Rin is not a substitute, nor merely a wandering spirit upon whom she has bestowed kindness. She is her daughter. Though Kikyo may struggle to convey affection openly, her care is evident in the way she vigilantly looks after Rin, demonstrating remarkable patience even when Rin grapples with her emotions and connections. Kikyo doesn’t expect Rin to grasp the full significance of being a daughter; her sole wish is that the young girl never doubts her place in this world. Because she truly belongs.
In Rap Battles, Kikyo ensures that Rin feels a constant sense of companionship. Her presence is steadfast, and her strikes are fierce enough to remind adversaries that Rin should not be taken lightly. Kikyo does not shield Rin from the fray; instead, she guarantees that the tumult of battle is tempered before Rin ever faces hardship. And if anyone dares to unleash their hostility toward her daughter, Kikyo acts without hesitation; her response is immediate and unyielding, reinforcing that Rin's safety is never in question.
— Rin
Kurai to Rin is her father, and the one who gave her another chance at life. Although she may not fully grasp the complexities of human connections, Rin recognizes that Kurai stands apart from the multitude of souls she has encountered. Unlike others, he does not perceive her as a mere specter or an oddity; he affectionately refers to her as his daughter, not out of a sense of duty, but because he genuinely believes she deserves that distinction.
Despite her difficulties in navigating emotions, Rin finds an unfamiliar yet soothing comfort in Kurai's presence, a feeling of stability and purpose. She may be unaware of her past identity, but under his guidance, she begins to embrace the idea that her current self might be sufficient. While she seldom articulates her thoughts in traditional ways, she attentively absorbs his words, follows his example, and, in her own subtle manner, is immensely grateful.
In Rap Battles, Rin glides alongside Kurai like a shadowy figure, her presence quietly unsettling their rivals while he skillfully steers the contest in their favor. She doesn’t charge ahead, yet she remains steadfastly by his side.
Kikyo to Rin is the woman who lovingly adopted her into her family. It's not surprising that Rin doesn't completely comprehend the concept of motherhood. Yet, if anyone comes close to embodying what a mother means to her, it's Kikyo. From their very first encounter, the witch was determined to keep Rin close, recognizing something valuable within her that deserved to be cherished.
Rin is unsure why Kikyo chose to hold onto her or why she bestowed upon her a name that carries such significance. Yet, one thing is clear: because of Kikyo, Rin has a place in this world. Although she has no memories of her past, Kikyo has become her steadfast anchor, a guiding presence she instinctively follows, making the chaotic world around her feel a bit more stable. While Rin may struggle with understanding emotions and bonds, she holds deep appreciation for Kikyo. Without her, this young spirit girl would simply be a fleeting whisper lost in the breeze.
In Rap Battles, Rin moves fluidly alongside Kikyo, gliding through each confrontation like a phantom, while Kikyo delivers sharp and accurate strikes. She depends on Kikyo's unwavering confidence to steer her, making sure that her words resonate fully and leave their mark.
