What a cool option for those going to the Austin convention. I hope those who can attend the tour take lots of pictures!
I'm also guessing that Creation's going to add a number of Walker actors to the guest list...

-----
August would never wish ill on his sister, but part of him was glad to know he was right that something was wrong. No matter how much Uncle Liam told him to stay away, no matter how much he’d drifted from Stella, he knew his sister.
But it hurt to know that Stella had been suffering alone while August was looking toward a brighter future. It hurt to know that Stella felt she could only rely on a flighty Sadie and not her own brother. It hurt that they’d drifted so far apart when they used to be virtually inseparable.
It really hurt to recognize he put a lot of that distance there himself. He pushed her away at every opportunity for months for reasons he didn’t really remember. Even when she attempted to reconcile with him, he kept her at arm's length. That’s why he didn’t really notice when she pulled further away after the break-in. Hell, he’d welcomed it, relishing in the attention he received because she wasn’t around anymore.
Now that he knew why…. He couldn’t help but feel guilt. If only he’d bothered to notice something was wrong sooner. If only he hadn’t shoved away the one person he’d been able to rely on for the past few years. If only he’d bothered to look away from his own problems for a minute…..
“What are you thinking about?” Stella asked, breaking the silence.
How shitty of a brother I am. “Just…. Thinking how hard this summer must have been for you. I mean- you thought you killed someone and you thought you had to lie about it. That had to suck a lot.”
“Yeah, it wasn’t fun….”
August nodded. “I’m sorry.”
She tried to smile at him. “It’s not your fault.”
“I know but- I meant sorry about before.”
“Before?”
He sighed. “Before. Last year. When I was being the world’s worst brother and made you think you couldn’t talk to me about this.”
Stella sat up and leaned over him. “Auggie, I’m not even mad about that anymore. I get it; Mom died and everything sucked for a long time and you needed help that you weren’t getting. It’s okay.”
“That’s- It’s not okay, Stel. You didn’t deserve any of that. I wasn’t even really mad at you but you still got the worst of it. That’s not okay and you shouldn’t act like it is.”
“But-”
He sat up and hugged her. “Let me apologize for once.,” he murmured.
Stella sighed and leaned into him. “Okay. Apology accepted.”
He held his sister tight. He didn’t want to lose her again.

I didn't dislike the episode but I almost thought too much happened lol. Like I'm going to have to watch it again before I can even begin to process it.
The three intersecting plots just made my head spin lol
And I'm also just so sick if the secrets trope they keep doing lol
I am glad it came out so early in the season but it's the type of conflict that drives me CRAZY
Idk maybe I'll come to like it more it was just overwhelming to watch 😅
Honestly, I agree about this episode making my head spin. I was speaking with a friend earlier and we both agreed this episode felt more like 3 long scenes than anything else
Both too much and almost nothing happened and I'm still thinking about it and trying to think about what's coming next.
I'm glad the secrets are (mostly) revealed at this point too. There's still 9 more episodes and I don't see things slowing down.
Look forward to more crazy episodes I guess lol

ok i pulled back up the episode specifically to watch the stella and august scene and
-august is told by his uncle that he should leave stella alone and just can't do it. i think his gut was telling him something was wrong--besides the 200oz steak nachos XD--and he couldn't bring himself to ignore it
-my sadie/august loving heart notices that august seems very specifically concerned about stella chasing sadie off
-stella's hair looks amazing in this scene
-the way that august hands stella back the money as a way of underlining his sincerity though!
-the pause and then him softly telling her she can always ask for his help!! you can just see him figuring out how to approach this, how to get stella to let him help and not to brush him off like she's been doing with liam!
-his whole speech about them having each other's backs though 🥺🥺
-ok stella soliciting the promise of august's silence up front in contrast to cordell and trey trying to get it from cassie after the fact though XD
-and he doesn't hesitate!!
-august understanding that stella doesn't trust witt, she just wants to help is a nice touch. like, he's not trying to argue with her about it.
-also...that they've had distance over the summer/early fall is confirmed with august saying "it must have been really awful thinking you killed him". like august has been partying with his friends and training (even pre bootcamp) and doing his thing and stella seems to have mostly been avoiding everyone but liam and so he didn't see much of her suffering up close. also he talks about her being away at college as a way of pointing out that they haven't stayed in touch/close like they have been in the past.
-"which is why we got to stay together" and the little smiles they give each other 🥺🥺
-"i'm basically a navy seal, you know" XD (this is obviously a funny joke to cheer stella up, but it's funny because it's the same younger-sibling puffing up/bluffing that we see cassie and liam do)
-i will probably never be over the way that stella looks to august for reassurance before heading for the door and then the way that august hides behind the door to get his dramatic entrance moment. and the way that he sizes witt up, makes sure witt know he can be a threat before he shakes his hand. and then making sure witt knows that stella has her brother on her side by introducing himself with his last name. 🥺🥺 (also since we know witt specifically said that stella wouldn't be a problem this feels a little but like "but her brother might")
-i just i love this whole scene and their relationship so much

Anyway if anyone was wondering how serious Jared was when he said Stella was a lot like her father.... This episode proves it.

That was a lot for one episode for sure
Sadie is definitely being the responsible one- for now. I can't imagine she'll be able to keep that as she goes off on her own again.
Also please don't speak Texas Ranger August into existence. This family needs to get some peace at some point XD
Witt took care of that other guy a little too handily, like he's had some experience covering up crimes...
LMAO! The air quotes!
Aaahhh!!! Detective Luna!
I'm here for all of the hair jokes!
Poor Cap thinking Kelly is pregnant.
Uh, Stella, talking to your dad about a criminal is not rash. When did Sadie become the responsible one?
Ooh, an old-fashioned stand-off!
Awe, Augie was so sweet there! But also, that's an alarming amount of trauma for two teenagers.
Poor Cap (continued). His rangers and his wife have been lying to him, and the Jackal is back.
Love the callback to Stella and Augie chatting while lying down. Especially loved Augie's "August Walker." A few more years and he can add "Texas Ranger" to that introduction!
That final shot of the all the rangers at the crime scene... beautiful and heartbreaking.

4x04 Review
I thought last week's episode had a lot but I expect things are only going to be ramping up from here because Holy Shit there was a lot going on this episode. "Insane B.S. and Bloodshed" was definitely the right title even if working it into the dialogue was a bit clunky.
As usual, I'm covering each plotline in order of how much I'm rotating them in my mind so here goes:
First up, let's talk about our cliffhanger plot.
The episode picks up right where we left off last week with Stella driving Sadie and Witt somewhere at gunpoint. As they drive, Sadie acts almost nonchalant and tells us that Witt won't hurt either of them and demands more information. Witt does put the gun down and explains his current situation: he doesn't want to kill them, he wants their help. A very scary woman hired him to find a necklace in Geri's house and when he not only failed to find the necklace but tried to hide his failure by faking his death, he got an intimidating message. He doesn't know who this woman is, only that she really, really wants this necklace and Witt's life is in danger until he delivers it.
Sadie is ready to take this to the cops- or at least, to Cordell. She thinks that with Witt alive, there's much less risk of their lives being screwed up by telling the truth. And the cops can protect them from whoever wants that necklace so badly. However, Stella is hesitant. She spent the last few months feeling immense guilt over killing Witt, a guilt Witt is feeling now after killing Jordan in the car accident. She doesn't want to just send him to jail, possibly for life, when it's clear he just needs help. Sadie is willing to humor her for a while but when Stella insists on trying to help Witt rather than helping themselves, she bounces, leaving Stella on her own.
Well, not entirely alone, as August is waiting right outside Stella's dorm looking for the money that Stella got from selling some of August's music stuff. Or at least, that's the excuse he gives at first. In truth, he was worried about her when she wasn't answering her phone earlier and the way she's acting now isn't exactly soothing his concerns. After he reminds Stella of everything they faced together, she decides to let him in on everything that's happening.
Shortly after, Stelle tells Witt she wants to help and he shows up to her dorm room to talk.
Side note: I love the way August put himself in front of Stella.
Next, let's talk about everything with the Jackal.
Once again, we pick up right where last week left off, with Cassie having a freak-out over needing to keep James in the dark. I imagine this is equal parts her not wanting to get in trouble and her knowing how much it hurts to be the one left in the dark on a case like this. Cordell and Trey justify it with how James was before with the Jackal and Kelly asking them to keep it a secret, but she's still not happy about it.
James wants to meet one-on-one with Cordell, so the team has to divide and conquer with Walker keeping James busy, Trey running backup on nightshift, and Cassie meeting with Luna.
Side note: I can't believe James was the voice we heard on the recording.
Luna meets with Cassie and gives her a quick rundown on the Jackal and the motel they're casing out. They have some enjoyable banter while they set up, but Cassie gets defensive when Luna asks her if she's ever worked a serial killer case before. She brings up all her previous experience working non-serial killer cases, which makes me wonder if she'll end up overestimating herself with this case.
Side note: Let's never refer to Vladimir Putin as "Vlady P" ever again. Ever.
Things are going well until they hear something going down outside the room they're in. The gang that's been hanging around the place is getting suspicious of all the "new activity" that night and Cassie and Luna do their best to keep things calm while they help a girl with a missing mother. Unfortunately, drug dealers are unpredictable and we get an quick action scene before the dealers give them info on where the girl's mother went.
When they find the location, Luna talks more about the Jackal's killing methods and how they affect the people around the victims. While he talks, Cassie finds a burial site and they both start digging frantically- and find the girl's mother, buried alive with a Jackal tooth in her mouth.
The Jackal's return confirmed, Cassie calls the case in. First to Walker, who doesn't answer, and then to James.
On a sweeter note, let's talk about James and Cordell catching up. It's a small part of the episode but I felt like it deserved it's own section.
Though Cordell only brought James to the Side Step as a distraction, it was a nice way to catch up with his old partner after the Captain's Conference.
Keeping the conversation light, James brings the conversation to how things are going with Kelly. Now that they're fixing their relationship and entering their second honeymoon phase, James is feeling great. But something is going on with Kelly; she's sleeping in another room and she got rid of all the alcohol in the house. The only thing James can think of is that she's pregnant, a theory Cordell is happy to run with.
We also find out that James and Kelly had previous tried for another child at around the time the Jackal was last seen. Naturally, that attempt at a child didn't work out and he's not sure how to feel now, or how to confront Kelly about it.
After that, the conversation shifts to Cordell and Geri's relationship. Things are also going great there, with them finally saying I love you for the first time and while James is happy to hear that, he owes Kelly $20.
Side note: I love Kelly and James and Cordell's relationship. So much.
Things are going well for both of them and Cordell gets some drinks to celebrate. While he's gone, Cassie calls James with the news that the Jackal is back. Naturally, this kills the mood and Cordell is right there to be on the receiving end of his anger. James feels hurt and betrayed by one of his closest friends and none of Cordell's justifications- never mind that they're James' own- can fix that. For now.
With that, they head the location of the body. The investigation is in full swing and our ranger team has work to do.
This was a crazier episode than I was expecting and I can only imagine the season is going to get crazier from here. There was a big theme of secrets being revealed in this episode, from Witt filling in Stella to Stella filling in August to the ranger team filling in James. Next episode is probably going to be focusing on the fallout from all the secrets. I'm happy to see everyone on the same page again but I wish it had happened differently, especially with Stella and August.
Wishes aside, I have so many questions for next week. Is Kelly actually pregnant? How is James going to handle the Jackal case? How are Stella and August going to keep their own secret under wraps? Is Cassie going to get in over her head with the Jackal? How many more reveals can our Walker Family take?
See y'all next week!

No, I haven't had an account on there in a while
But this is excellent thank you
Someone remind me to do a comparison shot of Stella and August lying on the floor together in 1x17 and 4x04

Okay now I'm really scared for Stella, Auggie and Sadie right now
I love that James and Kelly had a bet on when Cordi and Geri said "I love you" for the first time
I don't trust Luna especially after what happened with Kevin last season
I hope this rift between Cordi and James doesn't last forever
And given the next episode's synopsis I wonder what stupid thing Liam's gonna do to protect the kids
I am very afraid for them, especially Sadie. She was more involved in this than any of the others aside from Witt and now she has the least protection. I am glad to see Stella and August working together again, even if it took a tragedy to make it happen.
I love James and Kelly and Cordell's relationship. I feel like we're going to get a lot of it this season and I look forward to the highs and the lows of it all.
I'm still holding onto my theory that Luna is the Jackal. It's not really based on anything I just feel like there's a pattern. But I did love his scenes with Cassie so expect some fics of that.
James can't stay mad at Cordell for too long. They have a case to work on and he knows how bad he was back then. I can only hope we get a scene between him and Kelly about this. I need it.
Honestly, whatever Liam cooks up can't be any stupider than what the kids would do themselves.

One thing I'm losing my mind over in this episode is my theories coming true
I've suspected for the longest time that Sadie was related to the break-in in some way because of how she introduced Stella to Witt and @theladywyn and I speculated that she came to Austin to do just that. We sort of speculated that Sadie was there to essentially do recon for the break-in and that it could be related to something Hoyt did many years ago. That whoever was behind the break-in pointed Sadie in Geri's direction after helping her settle her debts after her mother passed.
This episode feels like a confirmation of that. She knew Witt, she knew there was a woman in charge, and she knew this was all about a necklace- likely a stolen necklace- before Witt even brought it up.
I'm starting to suspect that the reason she hadn't stayed anywhere longer than a few nights while she was gone for those 5 months is because she, like Witt and Stella, was terrified for her life after the break-in. She didn't want to go to the cops at first because she didn't want her record exposed. Now that Witt is alive and could probably vouch as a character witness alongside Stella, she feels like going to law enforcement- specifically Cordell- is the safest move. And she's leaving again because Stella won't follow her reasoning.
I have no idea if the Jackal is actually connected to all this but I wouldn't be surprised if she was in a compromising situation in a later episode.
