Are we allowed to write about alternate universes of wandersong that already have fics made of em? Hskabdjsns I don’t know how to word it..

Like, let’s say I made an au where Miriam is a harpy and kiwi is a siren (taking this example from the wandersong discord) and made a public fic about them a while ago, can I write a new one of this same au for this minibang? Or does it have to be something new entirely?

Hi there! Sorry about the late response.

So the mod team discussed, and we've decided that while generic AUs are allowed (just "sci fi AU", for example) building on a universe previously established outside of this bang is not. Firstly because it makes claims less anonymous, (if someone recognized the AU they would know it was you) and secondly because artists may not have time to catch up on all the context of a pre established AU. It's encouraged that you write something brand new for the bang :)

what if I'm both a writer and an artist and want to try doing a bit of both?

then you’re welcome to sign up as both! it’ll be twice the work, but if you’re up for the challenge I encourage it :) you’ll also be asked to be careful about what you say in the artist and writer channels in the discord, to make sure you don’t share secret info with those signed up as just one!

I plan to be both a writer and artist, I’d love if you joined me!

Wandersong Minibang 2025 signups open in 2 days!!!

We were blown away by the enthusiasm we got on the interest check! But now it's time for the real deal. Starting April 25th, signups will officially be open! Spread the word! Reblog this post! Tell everyone you know so that we can have a great event and make lots of new friends.

Writer signups will be open until May 25th.

Artist signups will be open until June 8th.

I've seen a couple people in the notes of the interest check post saying they're scared to join or unsure if they're good enough, and I just wanna say: EVERYONE is welcome!! whether you just joined the fandom yesterday or you've been making fan content for years, the only requirement for joining this bang is a love for Wandersong and a desire to create. this kind of event is a great way to make friends, push yourself as a creative, and it's just really fun! any one that wants to join even a little, I would encourage to try it out :)
