Oh my gosh that's such a perfect analogy.

Tbh, I've always felt like the color indigo. I didn't know why, I just felt like it. I even went by Indigo for a bit until I decided that it wasnt for me as a name.

But I guess its sorta like how you put it: masc titles are purple, fem titles are blue or vise verse (still trying to figure it out). And so sometimes ill be purple or blue, all for me to be indigo bc indigo is and isnt either.

I'm actually non-binary, it feels a lot more like me. And it's like I dont like labels...but I do? Like I wouldn't say that my gender is a girl but I would still...call myself...a girl? Or a woman? I think I see those words more like titles than gender labels. And I like 'non-binary' as a label.

I don’t see myself as a girl or boy gender wise, but I do see myself fluctuating between a more fem vibe and a more mas vibe, and then a little-bit-of-nothing vibe.

What's even weirder (and usually where I lose people) I prefer feminine titles like "girl", ir "woman", but then masculine titles like "king" or other crap. But then ill fluctuate between "miss" and "mister" and "sir" and "ma'am", and it's even the same for...'sexual' titles, if you know what I mean...😭

Honestly ig it's because neither of them seem like the exact right thing to call me, but at the same time I'll use both and it'll feel like a little more me.

It makes complete sense to me-- that's just about the most nonbinary / bigender / genderfluid thing I've ever read haha. And I think what you said about titles vs labels is really interesting too.

For the last bit is it kinda like: Imagine masc titles are yellow and fem titles are red. A nonbinary title would be orange and it would suit you best, but it doesnt exist. So you give yourself masc titles and fem titles, a bit of yellow here and a bit of red there, so you still get to feel orange? Maybe thats a bad analogy lol

How would one try to execute a lifestyle in which 1/3rd of the time you're a girly girl, 1/3rd of the time an alt twink, and 1/3rd of the time a butch?

Cause that's basically me 24/7, and idk how to explain that to people lol

Tbh how you just described your experience is a great way of explaining it to people! If you want to use a sort of simpler umbrella term like genderfluid, it sounds like that might suit you, but don't stress too much about labels!

Quick aside: I feel like labels are great for helping people understand that there are other people like them -- enough that there's a term for their experience -- but when labels start to be policed or restricted or exclusionary, or when you start to feel like you're trying to fit a label onto yourself or to fit yourself into a label... then they lose their usefulness. (This is also why i love the word queer so much-- the whole point is that it doesn't have a strict definition)

And like, it's nice to have a quick word to describe ourselves, but for a lot of us, in order for people to really understand our experience, we have to use multi-sentence explanations 😅 and that's totally okay!

So ya, you could say you're genderfluid? Or you can take the time to say "1/3 girly girl, 1/3 alt twink, 1/3 butch" (And who cares if it takes longer to say! Youre worth a few extra seconds.)
