deltarune chapter 3 spoilers

disclaimer so you can avoid this! i'm not adding tags so yea

funny i bring up rayman. because tenna was not what i expected, but also, the rayman 1 style is not exact

buuut

even tenna's battle uses a "rigged" sprite animation style! i got no screenshots but i swear it's there! (but i also feel like i'm going "how can i make this about rayman?!" DAKFJSJFS)

god, that's so good... i just love this kinda style in general :P

just me rambling about rayman don't mind me

tbh i was also thinking about rayman and how weird it is. like it is fucked up how i first knew about the rabbids, before rayman himself, because u/bisoft was so hellbent on making their own minions i guess. they had that rabbids invasion show on nick. what the hell even was that??

the way his franchise was so inconsistent was so weird???

like the 1st game had a tone that i thought was like w/ n64 paper mario (which i also find cool!), it had this fun vibe and whimsy to it that i like

i haven't played the edutainment game but i watched antdude's video on rayman brain games. they're so unnecessarily punishing (it's uncalled for) and i don't get why they somehow got approved as edutainment games. it makes mario's edutainment games look like a masterpiece in comparison

then rayman 2 and 3 became cartoony (written like cartoons of the 2000's if they weren't overtly tropy), which i don't mind, honestly the 1st game did kinda set up this weird fantasy world so i get it

then the rabbids existed. tbh they just ruined the series. bc not only do they feel out of place, but now it feels like rayman's a complete joke just to shoehorn him into minigames. the fact they took rayman out of the picture entirely when it became "oops! all rabbids" says a lot.

rayman came back in origins, then legends, but it's like. he doesn't talk. none of the other characters are there, only the teensies, globox, murfy and... betilla (but redesigned to pander to thirsty dudebros) come back. it feels like a worse version of those silent slapstick french cartoons xilam makes in the 90's and 2010's. it's so painfully generic, you could replace them with different characters and nothing would change (and i was a former fan of xilam's slapstick stuff!)

rayman's comeback in a certain n/etflix show irks me so much, looking back, but it worked! because now people know it for having rayman! he only uses his floating hands to attack people in one scene. he just barges in to kill the people who've hurt him with guns...? he has every right to retaliate but his role is painfully generic here. again, you could replace him with a different character and nothing would change

his n/etflix character serves the purpose for "remember this mascot from your childhood? he does adult things now!" instead of exploring of a version of rayman in a serious setting, especially one where he's used as a tool for propaganda. that was such a missed opportunity but he ended up kinda becoming an ableist stereotype of systems... which is gross!

i hear mario + rabbids does give not only the rabbids a proper comeback (finally, they aren't corporate comic relief) but rayman too, and he's actually given a second chance?! like his model looks good (the expressions are great! and they bought back his iconic grimace!!), i don't think he talks but he's an actual character, and i hear that whoever wrote this DLC clearly was a fan of him

they just keep fumbling him that at this point, why keep him if they not only do jack with him but also be inconsistent as hell with him? even sonic, a well-known inconsistent game franchise, didn't get this bad.

but that's just me!

We need everyone's help right now to protect the rainforest and Indigenous People

The Amazon Rainforest is under a massive threat. I know you've heard this a million times, but this is different. There is a piece of legislation that will decimate the rights of Indigenous people of Brazil, who have been protecting the rainforest. It's unfathomably bad. It has majority support. And they're voting tomorrow. As reported here, the Bill allows "the Brazilian government to find energy resources, set up military bases, develop strategic roads, and implement commercial agriculture on protected Indigenous tribal lands, without any prior discussion with the affected peoples."

The thing you can do—and I know this sounds overly simple—is sign this petition—and tell your friends to do the same: SIGN HERE.

As reported here, the Bill allows "the Brazilian government to find energy resources, set up military bases, develop strategic roads, and implement commercial agriculture on protected Indigenous tribal lands, without any prior discussion with the affected peoples."

Again, this bill has majority support. You may be wondering, why will a petition signed by people who don't live in Brazil make any difference? Because it will give those opposing it political air cover. It will show the world is with them.

But we need a LOT of signatures.
