If you have homebrew, then yes you should be able to copy your save data via Checkpoint to any other version you have (either eShop version or on Citra/any other 3DS emulator), however if you want to run this mod you will need the eShop version of the game (specifically a .cia file of the game plus its updates. I cannot tell you how to get these, but you should have the means to find them yourself) If you have a copy of the save though, you will be able to do whatever with it. I would always recommend making a backup any time you decide to edit a save, however.

As an addendum, this is not the same mod as the cancelled mod by Kobazco, This mod is created by viri^_^. It essentially enables universal bisexuality for all Miis. This mod, however, does not entirely fix some gendered dialogue issues (namely Miis being misgendered in certain dialogues, as well as the fact that in weddings there will always be one Mii in a dress and another in a tux). For that, I would suggest the Gender Removal Mod, created by CandyGames and ironminer888, which rewrites all gendered dialogue with they/them pronouns. Both mods can work together with no conflictions, since the Gay mod does not alter any dialogue.

hi! do you by any chance know anything about the miis on the box art for tomodachi life? like, who re they supposed to be or something
Personally, I am not one of the people who is super invested in the CPU Miis as a whole (Ironically for someone who runs a Mii related blog, I am pretty faceblind). I do enjoy seeing them cameo in other games, though I am not really quickly able to identify most of them aside from some of the Wii series Miis.
However, to my knowledge I do believe that most (if not all) of the Miis present in the box art for all regional versions of the game are wholly unique and as far as I am aware, are not used in other Mii games prior to Tomodachi Life (and Collection on DS). However I could be entirely wrong on that. Anyone out there who may be more familiar with the CPU Miis, please feel free to make additional comments if you have any input!
The only Nintendo-created Miis for Tomodachi Life that have functional QR codes and are known to have mostly complete information about them (that I am aware of) would be the celebrity Miis and the Tomodachi Collection Fashion Catalogue Miis, all of whom are Special Miis with gold pants.

Also to clarify, you can actually use this tool to create songs.

Talkmodachi is a tool created by dylanpdx on Github that allows you to use the US Tomodachi Life text-to-speech in order to say whatever you would like! This tool is built directly off of the game itself and is therefore completely 100% accurate. The developer is currently still working on the projects documentation, including for singing, so if you are interested then be on the lookout for any updates!

Hi. Here's some fun things for Miis in case you didn't know these exist.
Mii Creator - A Mii maker for your computer. You can even scan Miis from QR codes and put them in, and then export them in a bunch of formats, like QR codes and whatnot. You can also render them. You will need your Discord account to log in.
And then you can export the .charinfo file and upload it to...
This website, which shows you how to remake any Mii you have a file of on the Switch Mii Maker. (The website it's attached to also has fun features.)
Mii Library and the Mii Wiki also have official Miis you can recreate and mess with and download data of.
Go nuts.

I do really hope they don't add an obnoxious crafting mechanic, imagine solving a mii's problem or whatever and they give you wood.
I'll also miss the huge apartment complex, the ant farm feel was fun, for me it felt like having a worm bin, checking on your worms (miis) and giving them food and stuff.
Tomodachi life is, in a way, a human nintendogs (with more independence), apart from a collection of friends.
(god if it gets a crafting NH type mechanic ill get inconvenienced)
We haven't seen much but honestly it doesn't appear we have the ability to craft anything thankfully (at least, not anything outside of constructing the island itself potentially but that's something I'm more willing to accept as a feature).
It's kinda sad the apartments are gone now, but if they implement the houses in an interesting way then I don't think it'll be a huge loss at the very least. I talked before about not really wanting the island to be scaled down significantly so hopefully the islander count either stays the same or increases. A lot of uncertainty right now but eventually when we get more news about it we will hopefully get some questions answered.

I was once someone who believed that Tomodachi Life would never get a sequel due to the gay marriage stuff as well for a long time, but I started to grow more optimistic about it for a number of reasons, namely the fact that Nintendo's corporate end is openly very LGBTQ+ positive and they're one of the biggest companies in Japan to directly offer benefits for their queer employees, excluding any stuff in their games relating to LGBTQ+ content. I do think default bisexuality a la Sims 2 and 3 will be the case if they do keep up on their promise to include gay relationships, and while I do think a pronoun/sexuality picker would be nice, I honestly don't know if Nintendo would be willing to do that still. In regards to houses on the island I feel like they may make it so couples just get combined into one house, since in the 3DS version its honestly kinda janky the way they have it so your Miis still live in their apartments outside of the married house, but I don't know. I am praying that this game doesn't do the ACNH thing where they drop major features randomly months after release, but we won't know until that happens. Again, I am optimistic but Nintendo has broken my trust one too many times for me to be fully confident.
While I am optimistic about Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream and will probably be buying it and playing it regardless of anything, there are a few things that kinda potentially concern me about the game. I assume most of these will be addressed at some point in the future, but I want to run through them real quick.
1 - The "New Horizons" problem.
Though I did play a lot of New Horizons when it came out and did thoroughly enjoy it, it is undeniable that the game is held back by a number of flaws. Most notably, the fact that they significantly stripped back a number of features (especially near the time of release) as well as the general "softening" of the game. Now, don't get me wrong, New Horizons is far from a bad game. But many things sort of hold me back from considering it the definitive Animal Crossing experience, especially after coming off of New Leaf/Welcome Amiibo. I do really enjoy the customization of the game, but in many ways it almost feels like they had forgone things like villagers personalities and their autonomy in order to make that happen. Not to mention the fact that many key elements of the series were not in the game at all at launch, and were instead added in later updates. I am hoping that at the very least, the team behind Living The Dream will be able to learn from the negative aspects of New Horizons. Tomodachi Life is a series that, in part, is made by the randomness of every social interaction and is way more heavily focused on social interaction than Animal Crossing as a whole is. So with that in mind, I do hope that they don't entirely drop the ball in that regard and can present us with something interesting. Another big aspect of Tomodachi Life is relationships and the drama that the islanders get themselves into, so I hope that they allow for those things to continue to be relevant in this entry without dampening the personalities of the islanders.
2 - Gay Marriage.
I think most people know about this by now, but back when Tomodachi Life originally came out a controversy sprung about, named the Miiquality movement. This movement was centered around making Nintendo acknowledge and allow gay couples to exist in Tomodachi Life, since it was one of the only games in the life simulation genre to not allow it. Nintendo responded by claiming that they would promise to include it in a potential sequel, since it was too late for them to change anything in the original Tomodachi Life for 3DS. Now, this is a net good thing, and I and many other have been asking for this for a long time. However, I am somewhat worried that for whatever reason, they do something to work around the gay marriage thing. It honestly would probably be kind of stupid for them to do this, but I can very easily picture a reality where they forgo the entire existing relationship system and replace it with something else, maybe something like the Miitopia system or something. But honestly, at that point, it would just be easier to allow gay marriage outright since the Miitopia relationship system was the reason that game was marked as an 18+ title in Russia and Nintendo seemingly had no issues with releasing the game there despite it. Nowadays, we live in 2025. There is no reason for them to not include it at this point. Tomodachi Life for 3DS released in 2013 in Japan and 2014 everywhere else, which predated the legalization of gay marriage in the United States and a number of other places in which the game released, and is still not fully legal to this day in Japan (but is pretty close to potential legalization at the time of writing). Nowadays, Nintendo seems more open to the idea of having visibly queer characters in their games, for instance the Fire Emblem series allows you to be gay in most of their modern releases. Just last year, the Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door remake officially canonized trans Vivian, so I do think the option is still on the table.
3 - Scale and design.
The trailer we have seen shows some already significant design changes in this game compared to the previous two, which honestly I do think looks decent and I have positive thoughts on the art direction as a whole. However with any big new changes, there are bound to be some rough points. The flatness of the island we have seen is a little weird, which I assume may be related to a potential building feature, in which case is fine, but in many ways honestly feels like a visual downgrade from the 3DS version. Albeit we have not seen too much so far regarding the appearance of the island, and if island customization is a thing then that could potentially negate that issue entirely. However, a bigger concern of mine is the scale of the island itself. I am somewhat worried now that since each islander is living in a little cabin instead of an apartment, that the amount of Miis you are able to add will be limited. This isn't entirely a deal breaker necessarily, however I think most people would agree that it would be extremely disappointing if the game forces you to limit the amount of people on your island arbitrarily. I think if they were to cut down the amount of Miis per island, a reasonable minimum should be at least 50. Ideally I would prefer if the cap of 100 Miis was still a thing, since its a pretty reasonable number and I would be happy if they even allowed for more than that. Though if they do decide to limit the islanders to a smaller number, then I think it would honestly kill a lot of the hype for this game, since a big aspect of Tomodachi Life is the broadness of interactions possible between many islanders at a time. The Switch is more powerful than the 3DS so I am hoping they at least have some way around this issue, but the Switch isn't necessarily a powerhouse to begin with, so we will see how that pans out.
With all of that being said, I am still very excited for this game. I imagine future news will address some of these issues, but for now I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. I will continue to post more about Living The Dream as more news presents itself.

Thank you! The theme itself is a template made by @cloverparty with some slight alterations made by me to be more in line with the visual style of Tomodachi Life's UI. I suggest checking out their themes and stuff if you like it!

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Trailer Analysis
Going strictly off of what we have seen so far, here are a number of observations that can be made.
First things first, the Miis have ears now. It also appears as though every Mii they have shown off so far has a hairstyle different to the vanilla Mii Maker hairstyles as well. A number of Miis present are also wearing makeup and have highlights in their hair, which probably indicates that the Miitopia Mii Maker will be returning (or some variation of it at least will be.)
The main focus of the trailer seems to be the activities a lot of the Miis are getting involved with, with a greatly expanded world for them to interact. Each Mii appears to have their own house instead of sharing an apartment. Presumably the color of each house is indicated by the Mii's favorite color.
Out of all the new locations visible so far, we have Mii News, the pawn shop, food mart, clothing store, and interior store. In addition to those, we have a new building called Quik Build, which we know nothing about. Though if I had to speculate, I assume this shop will be used for building houses or other things on the island, or something of that nature. No hat shop anymore it appears, instead it seems as if the clothing store will probably be combined with the hat shop.
A building named Tomoria and a lighthouse are also visible, I assume that Tomoria is the cafe. The lighthouse is an entirely new structure, which appears to just be a visitor location akin to the tower or the beach.
Now, besides all of this, I speculate there is a lot we have yet to see. For one thing, we still have no clue if gay marriage will be a thing in this game (or if marriage will be a thing at all, but it would be kind of ridiculous for them to just get rid of that suddenly). For another, design wise, this game definitely seems to be leaning down the same route as Animal Crossing New Horizons, and I believe it is a possibility that we may end up with the ability to customize or decorate our own islands in some form. The new building points to that potentially being a thing, but I suppose we won't know until we get more details. For now, we await more news before the 2026 release.

In Tomodachi Life, a very rare occurrence can happen between couples, wherein they decide to break up on mutual terms without falling into depression. This can only occur when observing the couple on outings, and only when their relationship is low enough (below "Very much in love"). The attached video example is of the couple breaking up on the beach, but it is possible for this to also happen at the fountain, park, cafe, amusement park, and tower/rooftop.
