a continuation of @salsa-di-pomodoros ask once ingo dose finally catch up with the current time line he starts hanging around the distortion world version of the battle subway and the longer he stays somewhere the thiner the barrier between the real and distortion world becomes, turns out strong emotions will also affect it. poor emmet has no clue whats going on but the longer ingos gone the more unusual things he notices happening.

I drew some of the ideas people commented on my last post

a really obscure piece of lore since its really only mentioned in the octo expansion artbook that never got officially translated is that salmonids dont have names the same way other beings in the splatoon world do. they are often just called [title] of [clan name] (ex: Valiant Green Flame Born of Trout Hell Canyon is the name of the drummer in omega-3) extrapolating from that one could assume that when a salmonid becomes lost from their clan they also lose their names (if they uh dont starve as implied by the 8th scroll in splat3) and that naming ur lil buddy is probably something deeply important to them 🥺

Probably the 'default' would be something like Lil Buddy to the New Squidbeak Splatoon
