I’m amazed at what Mother Earth had provided.
On the side of my house, the grass is different.
It never grows tall. Always stays short.
Carpet Bugle has grown in. A ton of it.
Purple Dead Nettle
Dandelion
So many healing herbs.
Thank you Mother Earth. 🖤🌎

It’s been 9 months, a long 9 months.
Many, many personal trials of mental health, social calamities, and work related issues.
Graduate school.
Spiritual slumber.
By the grace of Hekate, I am back.
I’ve thought of this blog many times but couldn’t find the strength to post.
Although my slumber was long, I believe that Hekate will grant pardon.
As she is my Goddess of comfort.
I pray for Hekate’s protection for myself and all those who need it.
I pray for the trans world and LGBTQIA+ community in these trying times.
May we find solace in Her sovereignty.
Blessed be.

Witchcraft isn't about owning expensive crystals or having a fancy altar.
It's about using what is at your immediate disposal as tools to empower your life and shape your present.

To me, witchcraft has always seemed to be a “do with what you have” practice. Deities always seemed to be appeased with your actions and offerings as long as they fell within guidelines that weren’t as strict as we believed. I may be a new witch but the movement or shift from Christianity to witchcraft has been pressure less and freeing and I am grateful everyday for it. Welcome to my very simple and humble altar.
Ave Hekate my goddess of knowledge, protection, and comfort.

Does anyone else have their deities cover the wick of your dedicated candle making you go make another one? Almost like a new start?

Imagery of Hekate:
For many humans, it’s Important for us to be able to see, visualize, or form some vision of abstract ideas. When we look at Christianity, (used for its popularity in modern times) we truly do not have an exact picture of what Jesus looked like. Although their texts do paint a picture, it was one man’s interpretation. In the same light, two to be exact, Hekate does not have an exact picturesque form that we know for certain she looks like. There are some to believe that she has the different heads of animals, that she is an old-wise crone, she has three forms (maiden, mother, crone), that she is a young mother, and truly the list goes on and on but does her appearance really matter?
The idea of a God or Goddess isn’t for us to argue about what they look like. Although important for humans- it isn’t important for deity. What is important and what should be most important for us is how our relationship works, how we feel under the care of our deity, and the good works we have done with our deity.
May we find looks to fade and intention to opaque. May Hekate bless you from her energy and not her appearance. May She bless you endlessly through your works with her.
Blessed be brothers and sisters! 🖤🙏🏻

The aspect of the mother is within all realms of life as a powerful figure. Without the mother, the child would perish. In the same respect, without the Mother, our security, love, and guidance in some aspects would cease to be. If not cease, then diminish strongly.
There are many takes on the three. Maiden, Mother, and Crone. There are also many goddesses that take on singular aspects of the three and some that embody all. Being that this account is in honor of Hekate, the focus will be placed on her. However, in the opinion of the account holder, certain goddesses equate to certain aspects: Demeter - Mother | Persephone - Maiden |
The Mother can be seen in the full moon. The fullness of the moon is symbolic of the belly of the Mother. The Mother herself stands for fertility, abundance, fulfillment, and growth. At the point of the full moon, she appears in her most full form. In this way, honoring the Mother is to honor the goddess for her gifts of fulfillment, abundance, and growth.
Although it is believed Hekate had no children of her own, it is believed that Medea and Circe, some of the greatest of witches, considered themselves her children. When it comes down to it, all children of sorcery, magic, or honoring the Earth are children of the Goddess. May we find Her. May we honor Her in all forms. May we find strength, comfort, and solace in her abundance.
So Mote it Be.
Blessed Be.

🌙 Cheap Witchcraft Tools + Supplies 🌿
🫙 Save all your jars! Spaghetti sauce jars, baby food jars, pickle jars, jam jars — you get the point. You can use these for storage, spells, rituals and offering. Plus they’re easy and cheap to decorate and customize. A little glue, some scrapbook stuff, rocks, moss etc. The possibilities are endless.
🌼 Go outside and collect nature! Sticks, flowers, dirt, rocks etc. Put your collected pieces into your saved jars lol. It’s easy, free and you never know when dirt specifically from a certain area might come in handy for a ritual or spell. Also you can use your foraged finds to decorate your altar(s) and your jars.
🍋 Save your fruit peels, pits and seeds! They’re super useful for spells and rituals + they’re “free” considering you’re eating the fruit it came from anyways. To dry out your peels you can leave them out in the sun or you can place them in your oven on it’s lowest setting (anything under 170°F) for about 4 hours or until dry.
🔮 Make your own oracle deck! It’s really fun and you get to put your own energy into it, making it that much more special. All you need is a deck of cards from the Dollar Tree. I’d opt for the larger flash cards, they tend to be a bit thicker and larger. Some glue and old magazines, scrapbooking supplies or even just photos printed off the internet. Collage those cards up! For extra security you can seal each card with mod podge.

Hekate Protectress
The Dark Mother has been a protectress for all her people as she deems necessary and appropriate. It is my belief that Hekate’s protection is impenetrable as her strength was even honored and feared by Zeus. Many times since I have felt her presence that I have called on Her as Maiden for courage, the Mother as protection and love, and Crone for guidance and wisdom. Although Hekate is known for being dark, distant, and not always personable, I refuse to believe that makes up Her entire personality. When you consider these traits, we can all be like that, but that is not the complete sum of our parts and surely NOT the sum of Hers.
Based on Keeping Her Keys and the teachings of Dr. Cyndi Brannen: Hekate has three different protective names that we, as followers, may call on her with:
Hekate Kourotophos - the Protectress of young children and babies
Hekate Apotropaios - the Protectress from unseen enemies not limited to only spirit.
Hekate Propylaia - the Protectress and keeper of the thresholds to physical and metaphysical doorways.
May the Goddess of darkness, crossroads, keeper of keys, witches, spirits, and more, bless you, keep you, and guard you physically and spiritually.

I know Hekate is always first and foremost attributed to terror and intimidation, but hear me out and consider this – it’s not always like that. Hekate isn’t always serious and not solely her terror and magic domains and is more than that. She has humor, understanding, and compassion like any other deity does and I know it isn’t intentional on the part of other people in contact with her (worshiping her) but I think she deserves to be a little more well rounded like any individual is and she isn’t separated from that.
I personally find her to be very funny when she wants to be, the kind that comes with a thinly veiled smirk, barely traceable and has to be studied for – but exists regardless. And oh man does she care and also show a softer side that’s so welcoming as a deity that has her hand in so much over sky, earth, and water and a defender for those that need it.

As I am feeling down today,
I recall a guided meditation I did
For Hekate,
It gave Her the title as a goddess,
Who gladly takes our grief and sadness,
So today, I am choosing to relinquish,
My shortcomings, grief, and issues
Related to self worth and image,
If only for today.
May She help me carry the weight.
So mote it be.

This is a crucial time for women as losing their rights of choice is an abomination. It also leaves the door wide open for SCOTUS (if they should even be called “supreme’ or a ‘justice”) to remove the rights of LGBT+ rights as well as interracial rights.
When our women go down, we all go down. May we pray to our fierce goddesses to create a tsunami of change that will catapult us into equity and choice.
“Oh Mighty Six, our Dark Goddesses and Mothers
Kali, Hekate, Lilith, Medusa, Persephone, Eris.
We call thee from your realms to aid us to rise to battle amongst injustice for all people.
Kali, Goddess of time, death, and feminine energy, we call thee.
Hekate, Goddess of crossroads, mysteries, and purpose, we call thee.
Lilith, Goddess of sexual energy, taker of shame, and intuition, we call thee.
Medusa, Goddess of feminine protection, ferocity, and wisdom, we call thee.
Persephone, Goddess of duality, maturity, and power, we call thee.
Eris, Goddess of endurance, warrior, and authenticity, we call thee.
May we as souls, humans, male and females, find the resources we need within ourselves, through you all to conquer all injustice, but especially in this time of need.
So mote it be.”

Witchy Tips #1:
Enchanting your shoes with Warding and Protection sigils inside of the shoe can protect your energies in a stealthy manner.
If you don’t have money to spend, picking up trash, music, poetry, and research are always very incredible offerings.
Using a Microwave or a Pot on the stove to conduct a Simmer Pot ritual is effective, simple, and worthwhile.
The action of consuming food with salt such as chips or pretzels can be used for easy and simple personal inner salt cleansing rituals.
Using your phone, heartbeat, or music to charge tarot cards, crystals, and other tools can be done at almost any place and time.
You can use your morning cup of water, coffee, or tea to revitalize daily by enchanting the mug with the aforementioned intention.
Keeping Bay Laurel Leaves in your Wallet to attract an overflow of money, sealing them with tape keeps them from crumbling.
The action of chewing any form of mint or cinnamon gum during money spell can amplify or speed up the energies and results.
Blowing a dash of Cinnamon at your front door entrance at the first of each month can invite prosperity into your dwelling.
Having protection in your car and where you sleep is the most important thing you can do as a practitioner, experienced or not.
Utilizing your showers, baths, and brushing your teeth for simple and low energy cleansing spells can become powerful.
Warding above your doorways with horseshoes is not only a marvelous way to protect your home, but attracts good luck inside.
Using a (preferably mini) Crock-Pot for the performance of a Simmer Pot ritual is efficient, fancy, innovative, and easy to clean.
Placing magical items in front of a currently working fan can blow away negativity or charge it with gusts of wind energy.
Walking, jumping, singing, running, or even skipping with intent whilst holding a magical item can imbue it with magical energy.
You can use light itself to charge, purify, and cleanse, people, places, and things. Artificial or Natural light doesn’t make a difference, and the same notion can be applied with the dark.
Cleansing your space and self when a visitor has been draining, negative, or toxic can be very beneficial.
You can use your finger to trace Sigils onto any surface and for any intention. A good example is a Pentagram to Ward or Seal a Mirror.
