There is so much going on in our country and world right now. Many of us are feeling exhausted by the news cycle and constant attacks on our communities. So before anything else, please take care of yourself and your loved ones at this time. The best way to get through all of this is together. 💜🫂
Many of us feel overwhelmed or like our power is slipping away, so remember this: The power of the people is greater than the people in power. Our communities are relying on us to keep making our voices heard on the issues impacting us most — including at the ballot box.
Whenever you are ready to tap in to the continued fight for our freedoms, we are here for you. If you are looking for something to do right now, here are three actions you can take:
✅ Make sure you are registered to vote at WhenWeAllVote.org/check 📍 Find out if there are local elections happening where you live at WhenWeAllVote.org/voterhub 📧 Sign up for our email list to get involved with our work at WhenWeAllVote.org

Tamir Rice should be celebrating his 23rd birthday today.
Instead, his life was stolen at just 12 years old when he was killed by an Ohio police officer.
We are thinking of you today and always, Tamir. Sending so much love to your family. 🤍

Immigration raids. City-wide protests. Thousands of national troops flooding the streets. Communities living in fear. What’s happening in Los Angeles is not normal — it’s a tragedy that puts our families, our freedoms, and our futures at risk.
While we don’t have all the answers to what comes next, here’s what we do know: The power of the people is greater than the people in power.
Together, we can protest. We can make our voices heard. And with more than 100,000 local elections this year, we can vote on the issues we care about most. Because real, systemic change demands both activism in the streets and power at the ballot box.
During this time of unrest and uncertainty, our hearts are with everyone impacted, and we will continue the fight for our communities. If you are ready to join us, make sure you are registered and ready to vote right now at WhenWeAllVote.org/check.

On Harvey Milk Day, we celebrate the life and legacy of civil rights activist Harvey Milk. 🕊️🏳️‍🌈
In 1977, Harvey Milk became one of the first openly gay U.S. elected officials when he was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. During a time of widespread hostility and discrimination, Milk’s leadership gave hope to the LGBTQ+ community. He was tragically assassinated in 1978, but his legacy continues and he inspired a generation of leaders and activists.
We honor Milk and other LGBTQ leaders' courage to demand freedom by continuing to fight attempts to legislate us out of history. We’re not going anywhere.

Today marks 71 years since the landmark Supreme Court ruling in Brown v. Board of Education (1954).
In this historic civil rights case, the Court unanimously ruled that separating public school children based on race is unconstitutional — marking the end of legalized racial segregation in schools across the country.
Then and now, court decisions impact our daily lives across the country, from education and reproductive healthcare to our voting and workers’ rights.
At least 13 states have judges on the ballot in 2025, and YOUR vote helps decide who is in charge of our courts. Check your voter registration now at WhenWeAllVote.org/check. 🏛️

On This Day in 1961: The original 13 Freedom Riders left Washington, D.C. for New Orleans on two Greyhound buses.
Freedom Riders were civil rights activists who made bus trips throughout the South protesting segregation by using “whites-only” restrooms and lunch counters at bus stations. The group was often confronted by police officers, bystanders, and violent mobs.
In the fall of 1961, the Freedom Riders’ activism led the U.S. Interstate Commerce Commission to ban segregation in interstate bus travel. 🙌🏿

Today marks the 62nd anniversary of the Birmingham Children’s Crusade, a nonviolent protest where more than 1,000 Black students stood up against segregation. ✊🏾
Police arrested hundreds of young people #OnThisDay in 1963 — and when hundreds more gathered in the following days, police attacked them with fire hoses, batons, and police dogs.
Despite the violence, the children continued to march. The #ChildrensCrusade caused a major shift in public attitudes against segregation, and led then-President John F. Kennedy to publicly support federal civil rights legislation.
Then and now, young people have POWER. When we organize and stand up for what we believe in, we can fight for our communities and change history. 🙌🏿

On This Day in 1950, Gwendolyn Brooks became the first Black American to win a Pulitzer Prize, for her collection of poems “Annie Allen.”
Ms. Brooks used her poetry to share the power and struggles of everyday Black Americans, including family, war, honor, and hardships.
We honor her today as one of the most influential 20th-century American poets. ✍🏾 🙌🏽

Happy heavenly birthday to civil rights leader Coretta Scott King.
While many know her as the wife of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Mrs. King was a skilled organizer and dedicated activist in her own right.
Today we celebrate her life and legacy of service. ❤️
