honestly, this phrase has been on my mind more times than i can count. i've kidnapped it, taken it as a hostage with no ransom money because i need it to live permanently in my head.
#I have a similar adage that comes from when I still did/coached gymnastics (which no one should ever do)#which is ‘sometimes you have to chuck it’#‘chuck it’ is gymnast slang for just trying something without really knowing what you’re doing. for the lols#because you can teach someone how to do a cartwheel. you can talk them through it and explain all the techniques#but at the end of the day they will ultimately need to just give it a go and do it badly. maybe stack a couple of times.#before you can start working out the problems#(although— as a coach you can also be there to spot them while they chuck it the first couple of times.#you know… to keep them from eating shit too bad)
